16 illegals sue Arizona rancher

An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol, he said, after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home.
His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as “the avenue of choice” for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.
Trial continues Monday in the federal lawsuit, which seeks $32 million in actual and punitive damages for civil rights violations, the infliction of emotional distress and other crimes. Also named are Mr. Barnett’s wife, Barbara, his brother, Donald, and Larry Dever, sheriff in Cochise County, Ariz., where the Barnetts live. The civil trial is expected to continue until Friday.

One of my supervisors at work told me this last Friday. Oh the irony. In England we can rent a small amount of land from the local councils to grow our own vegetables on, calling it allotment growing. His father rents such land from Gloucester County Council, they informed him that he has to take extra insurance on his greenhouse in case a burglar cuts themselves on the glass when they break in and then sues them for injuries. The problem is that some idiot lawyer will always defend them and their right to burgle and destroy property, making sure that they are operating in a safe environment.

Try first reading Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of The United States” then simply using this books bibliography you can have other references. This is history you nor I learned in public/private school systems. Enjoy re-educating yourself. You more then likely will not make such bogus claims. Yes, I believe in our Constitution, Declaration of Independance and Bill of rights, however; they way in which “we” became a nation is as dirty as any. I used to live in Douglas Arizona and I know how it is there. The drug gangs and wet-backs make life out there awful! It could be such a nice place to live. The climate is wonderful almost all of the time. Like I said, it would be wonderful if it wasn’t so close to that big stinking shit hole of Mexico.

The entire world of government has gone mad. The innocent are guilty and so on… The Mexicans try and sue as they ARE TOLD TO. In the grocery store last year, a Mexican yelled in the check out line he was going to sue the store because a new check out line opened up and he was not ushered over to be first in the line. I kid you not. He went on and on for ten minutes upsetting everyone in the front of the store with his treats of law suit.
There was no structured nation here when the Pilgrims came. The east coast was an easy land grab. The Mexicans are bitter about the south west land grab and that is different. What can I do to help this family protect his property??? We all need to help him. It was very nice of him to hold them for the police rather than shoot them. As I have seen it is better for your own protection to kill them because then they can’t sue you. This has been going on for years when a burgular or rapist breaks in to someone’s home and they are wounded, they sue the home owner for damages and medical expenses. We need to come together for protection of all of us.

INDEPENDENT FARMERS’ UNION IDEA
Dear Infowarriors ,
Thank you for all that you do. I’m an entrepreneurial sort of person and I got an idea along those lines that I believe many of us who are grassroots thinkers have been overlooking.
So here goes my idea :
a) We have all kinds of Farmers and Farms that are struggling to make a profit. I believe that they are struggling because they are farming under a kind of Third World system that advantages the persons who convert what farmers produce.
b) In most Third World countries , the First & Second World countries will only build enough infrastructure to allow shipment of RAW MATERIALS from their source(s) to the modes of shipping transportation used to transport the RAW MATERIALS to those First & Second World countries that will turn the RAW MATERIALS into processed goods.
* For example – They will build a railroad line of tracks from some Third World country’s
gold and diamond mines ( e.g. Zaire ) to the Giant Ships docked
and waiting to carry them to processors and sellers such as De Beers.
c) What kinds of RAW MATERIALS do Farmers produce and/or have access to :
* Cows – Beef , Milk , Cheese , Even their Cow Chips can produce heat
Chickens – Eggs, Poultry
Sheep, Goats, etc..
* Crops such as corn ( ethanol), soybeans, wheat, oats, etc…
- These crops are taken and packaged and sold at Supermarkets.
d) Major Problems stopping small farmers from taking advantage of the possibility of turning your products into a profitable business : LACK OF TIME
e) Solution – My Idea : Form an Independent Union Of Farmers
* How would this work ?
1) Each County would represent a chapter of this Independent Farmers Union
2) Generally speaking, each farmer would retain all of their rights ; just as they had before they joined the Independent Farmers Union .
3) The Independent Farmers Union would be finance collectively by individual members paying monthly dues.
4) These monthly dues which would be used to set-up business ventures in each Independent Farmers Union’s County Area.
Some Examples Of Businesses That could be set up
* Chicken Processing Plant, and restaurants that would sell the chickens could be supplied right their in each Independent Farmers Union’s County Area
* Produce Markets
* Dairies
* Ice Cream Parlors (using fresh milk)
* Fast Food and/or Restaurants – featuring meat from various farm animals
* Supermarkets
5) The Independent Farmers Union’s would need persons with expertise in areas concerning the setting up and running of these businesses on behalf of the Independent Farmers Union’s.
So that’s my idea.

What would you do if your family was hungery and your country did not provide you with any opportunity or hope? If I was born a Mexican citizen and had to live in them circumstances, I would cross the border too! We are neighboring countries and we share the same land regardless of borders, so should’nt we treat each other with a little more compassion? The fact is people want something to call their own when truthfully nothing is ours except our selves.We have become so selfish that it blinds us to the reality we really live in. It is human nature to do whatever it takes to provide for your family and I have the feeling if you were in those shoes………YOU WOULD TOO. (P.S. My wife is a Mexican\American that means that she has duel citizenship both here and there. I am a mix of American Indian and European, like most American are. I call my self and an American nothing more or less. I am a proud Texan as well. I also own guns all semi auto. I travel to Mexico to see the in-laws probably 2 to 3 times a year. Most Mexicans do not want to come to the US and the really hard workers stay there and find ways to make it. That’s why Monterrey, MX has 9 million people there. Some come over to visit family and stay. I have no problem with them staying as long as they do it legally.
But when they want you SSN and when they talk about coming hear for free stuff and living off the government I draw the line. I will turn in my in-laws if need be.
My wife family in Mexico had a neighbor that killed another neighbor and guess were the murder ran to so he would not go to jail? Yep that’s right the US. Most of the people crossing the boarder though are not even Mexican. They are Arab, Asian, and South American. If you could pass as a Mexican why would you say other wise? It’s a long swim back if you say Asian or Arab. The number 2 nationality crossing the boarder in (I think) 2007 or 2008 was Afghani. What does that’s say?
Me and my wife both say Build a fence and put the National Guard on the boarder with Tanks and arm them to the teeth. Call Washington and tell them if they don’t do something WE WILL. If you go to Mexico they have there military all over the boarder. But the are half owned buy the drug cartel. Mexico is about to fall to the drug lords and they are sending the soldiers north. They have hit men coming to the US to take out Police and other how get in there way.
How many of you had some one come to you house and actually try coming in the house while you were their. I had this happen to me when I was like 10 in south west Texas. My mom had to get my dads pistol and hope the guy did not try to come through the second door. Luckily he changes is mined and left. I bought my wife a 9mm just in case it happens to her.
I could go on and on about both good and bad but ill say if you do not cross the boarder the right way then you probably have ill intent other wise why did you not cross legally it a lot cheaper. And if you don’t like the US then leave!!! Go home!!! We only want those who will help us not use us.

I have some property down in the El Paso area. I’ve noticed some people put wells and water tanks out for the benefit of the illegals.
I wonder how much trouble I would be in if I put out a hand pump and ran it down to my septic tank. I suppose I would be covered as long as I put a sign on the pump that said “CONSUMING LIQUID FROM THIS DEVICE IS CONTRAINDICATED AS IT DISPENSES EFFLUENT EXCREMENT.”

A.R.S. 13-407 gives everybody in Arizona the right to use any kind of force, including deadly force, to protect their land from criminal tresspassing. That law says that we can threaten to use deadly force, and it also says we can actually use deadly force. I don’t understand why this has even gone to a trial. The lawsuit should have been dismissed long ago.

Mr. Barnett could have given them a ride on into town. The only risk of that would have been getting slapped with a charge of transporting illegals, so scratch that. Mr. Barnett would have been breaking the law.
Mr. Barnett could have invited them into his home, fed them, given them shelter all in exchange for work on his farm. That’s right, Mr. Barnett would have been breaking the law, again.
Mr. Barnett could have defended his property of trespassers, be it foreign or local, and called the authorities. He did. No laws broken.
