MTA buses are getting a major makeover, inside and out.
More than 2,000 buses — replacing 40% of the fleet — will come with Wi-Fi and USB chargers, Gov. Cuomo and MTA officials said Tuesday.
“These are not going to be your father’s buses,” Cuomo said.
On the outside, the newest model of the MTA bus will lose its iconic blue stripe down the middle against a white background. Instead it’ll be decked out in New York State colors — wrapped in navy blue with a curvy yellow stripe.
By 2020, the 2,042 wired buses, including 200 with digital screens, will be on the streets, costing $1.3 billion from the MTA’s capital program.
