Bill Allows IRS To Revoke Second Amendment Rights By Stealth

Our good friend Joel Skousen sent the email below. He did analysis of the bill and found that it does not mention the IRS confiscating guns.

We can understand the writer’s confusion because Rahm Emanuel has said the government wants to take weapons away without due process. In addition, they are now stating they will use the IRS to revoke passports, but thankfully the IRS is not confiscating weapons at this time.

So, in a way, I am happy to issue this retraction because the draconian gun ban is not included in the legislation.

The article posted on Infowars.com by Daisy Luther appears to be completely wrong.  The bill she quotes from is S1813, the Transportation Authorization Bill.  I actually went to the link she posted for the bill, and its not about the IRS at all, and there is no portion that authorizes any form of gun confiscation or revocation of gun permits. The portion of the the bill she quoted (page 1323) is about taking away permits to haul hazardous materials, not weapons.  In fact, the previous section even states that nothing in this bill can regulate firearms or their transportation.

That doesn’t mean the bill is harmless.  There is a lot of national planning garbage in this bill, which is done to provide the legal basis for future regulations of all forms of transportation based upon the phony global warming/carbon as a pollutant agenda — but no confiscation of weapons.

Finally, as Raven Clabough points out at The New American today, the legislation may be interpreted as a prelude to a gun grab. “The broad language found within this provision has raised concerns among those who believe the Secretary [of Transportation] could use the interpretive powers defined here to revoke permits to transport guns and ammunition in all realms of transportation,” he writes.

However, as we note above, the bill does not explicitly call for the confiscation of weapons.

It looks like the power of the IRS to revoke passports is merely a drop in the tyrannical bucket.

The Senate has voted to approve Bill 1813, which is now on its way to the House.  The insidious bill has so many attacks on freedom that the most serious one has been largely overlooked.
