The results of the study, carried out by Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, also showed a steep increase — from 33 percent — in TBI cases since the end of 2008.
Diagnoses of TBI are rising steadily as arrangements for TBI checks improve, while at the same time improvised explosive device (IED) attacks — the primary cause of TBI — in Afghanistan are intensifying, with 46 U.S. soldiers killed by the homemade bombs so far this year. Casualties from these attacks flow into Walter Reed, which provides treatment to badly wounded soldiers unavailable anywhere else.

There are so many men and women coming back with no legs and no arms. It is really sad. As much as I have talked shit about soldiers that join to specifically “fight the terrorists” I often send packages to some of the most heartbreaking cases at Fort Sam Houston. I mostly send cards, dvd’s and healing crystals from the earth (apache tears which are for the warriors and is said to help with the grief caused by war.)
There is a special warrior house that helps these kind of patients and their families in loving home like environment. It is all volunteer run on the base and is funded by support from outside the govt. If I lived near there I would volunteer for sure. This one case made me cry for days just thinking about him and the pain for losing both legs and having 80 percent burns all over your body. I felt like the package I sent was an empty gesture and I could stop crying.

WOw sounds like they are setting up all the people serving over there to be stripped of all weaponry when they get back. So that way any armed servicemen not on their side will be deemed with TBI thus due to mental instability it will be against the law for them to have any guns aftre they leave service. In this way well for the most part making it hard for them to even help the people out even if they wanted to defend their own country on home soil.

Good point. The problem is, they were all mislead as to who the real murderers were and, had they known it was their own government, they would never have volunteered, in the first place. Had they seen through the lies, they would have taken up the fight, not against some mythical “Al Qaeda,” but against those who were truly responsible for 9/11.

Colin Powell poisened us with Sarin back in 91 right after we inserted Marines into Kuwait. I went to The VA in 93 and mentioned the Kumisiyah demolition and I started getting dirty looks. The Navy doctor they sent out from the East Coast assured me that because I was a Sailor their was no way I could have been in the Gulf war.

TBI is a horrible thing to live with and the V.A. medical centers could care less – they simply “dump” the wounded veterans (INCLUDING QUADRAPLEGICS) onto the streets with no food, shelter, transportation, or disability income, except $674/month from SSI. Many veterans have used up all their promised “benefits”, and are now living in nursing homes and Medicaid is paying the bills. WHAT A DAMNABLE TOTAL DISGRACE “OUR” LYING GOVERNMENT HAS BECOME!!!

TBI, is something a man must work on constantly to improving, such as using the non-dominant hand for more than prior, learning to write with the other hand etc.
