9/11 Families to March on New York City Hall

On Sunday, September 27 at 2 p.m., The New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), a group comprising 9/11 family members, first responders and survivors, will march from Battery Park to City Hall in protest of the City’s attempt to block the referendum for a fresh probe of the 9/11 attacks from going on the November ballot.
The effort to establish a local commission to pick up where the 9/11 Commission left off comes just as the 9/11 Commission’s Chief Counsel John Farmer released a book entitled “The Ground Truth” in which he claims “at some level of government, at some point in time. . . there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened.”
Eighty-thousand New Yorkers have signed the petition as it has won the endorsement of 2002 TIME magazine person of the year, and former FBI agent, Coleen Rowley, as well as outspoken 9/11 victims’ family members including Bill Doyle, who lost his son Joey, and Lorie Van Auken, who lost her husband Kenneth. Van Auken is one of the esteemed ‘Jersey Girls’ who successfully lobbied the federal government to set up the 9/11 Commission only to have 70% of her group’s questions to the Commission go unanswered.
Speakers for the Battery Park rally include 9/11 family members Bob McIlvaine and Manny Badillo, New York University’s Professor of Media Studies, Mark Crispin Miller, and actor Daniel Sunjata of the Emmy-winning Fox Television series “Rescue Me” which depicts post-9/11 life in a FDNY firehouse. After a half-hour speakers’ program, 9/11 family members and first responders will lead thousands of supporters in a march past Ground Zero, The City Clerk’s Office and The State Supreme Court, all the way to the steps of City Hall.
This week NYC CAN submitted a memorandum of law in response to the City’s challenge of the petition’s legality. The Court-appointed referee is scheduled to submit his report and recommendations to the Court on Monday, September 28. The Court will decide whether or not to adopt the referee’s recommendations and then issue a decision, after which appeals will likely follow immediately. “The arguments are strong on both sides, so the judges will have some thinking and analyzing to do,” said Dennis McMahon, the Petitioners’ attorney. “No other case pending in the New York courts has a higher priority on the calendars than this one, so we should have a definitive answer by next week.”
If the Court decides in NYC CAN’s favor and 15,000 of the 28,000 additional signatures submitted on September 4 are deemed valid by the City Clerk, the referendum will go on this November’s ballot. If the referendum passes, it would lead to the creation of a local, independent commission with subpoena power that would be tasked with comprehensively reinvestigating the attacks. You’re right about the resolve of New Yorker’s and it really does have to begin with them…the most affected (geographically, psychologically, etc.) by the 9/11 debacle. It’s high time that they (and the rest of us) just absolutely refuse to take NO for an answer anymore, and then move to make those responsible for ignoring the issue. We can only hope and pray that one day the government actually does acquiesce and open a new/independent investigation…but the odds are there’s going to be interference run at the City, State and Federal levels that would serve to hinder any progress made. At this point in time, the government of this country (at every level) sees itself as being infallible and beyond repose…believing that THEY are the final authority and therefore not to be questioned. I myself have been told this and have heard it out the mouths of Cops, D.A.’s, Judges, Congressmen etc. We’ve all heard them laugh and make snide remarks when they’ve been told “we pay your salaries and your accountable to us”…as they sure don’t like to be reminded of the truth. Our government does not like the truth, the truth is often its worst enemy and how very perverted is that…it’s just disgusting how very out-of-control it’s all become. Sadly, we as a society have to man-up right now and realise that we only have ourselves to blame…letting “the man” get away with they have for so very long now. We can reverse the damage and make things right, but it’s going to be a long and arduous road to get there!

It is so sad to see some people in this country who are so willing to fall for this truther junk science. Anger at this country and some of the things going on with illegal immigration and taxing everything that moves is certainly justified, but to channel that anger into belief in a massive conspiracy to kill thousands of innocent people for any number of made-up reasons is just beyond my comprehension. Use your common sense, for heaven’s sake! How could this be kept secret after all of these years? The planning, the co-ordination of the “bombs”, the families all lying about phone calls that were recorded on their answering machines from the hijacked plane – you can’t seriously ignore the odds of that really being pulled off and not ONE person admitting they were a part of this massive plot all these years later? You need to take a deep breath and ask yourselves why you were so willing to jump on this train to nowhere. The real enemy is out there, planning to attack again – which you would know if you read actual news accounts instead of Alex Jones.

Let me ask a reasonable question…..why would someone be looking for thermite? How many people (chemists) would even recognize it? Answer: Very few. I hear the charge but I find it incredible that the “solution” is found before the theory. Did it ever occur to you that this is why your movement doesn’t get much traction because when you start asking questions every piece of evidence falls apart.
Months ago some joker pointed out the claim that the WTC fires were not hot enough to melt steel because some girl happened to have a thermo-imaging camera. Of coure the YouTube video points shows that some color code shows that its not hot. So I asked the question what is the range of the camera (distance reliablity and the sensativity) and of course I got called all kinds of names. To me if you can’t answer the question then your evidence isn’t every reliable. Case dismised.
