The future is fundamentally uncertain, which always makes prediction a rash enterprise. That said there is a good chance the new consensus is wrong. Instead, there are solid grounds for believing the US economy will experience a second dip followed by extended stagnation that will qualify as the second Great Depression. Some indications to this effect are already rolling in with unexpectedly large US job losses in September and the crash in US automobile sales following the end of the “cash-for-clunkers” programme.
That rosy scenario thinking has returned to Wall Street should be no surprise. Wall Street profits from rising asset prices on which it charges a management fee, from deal-making on which it earns advisory fees, and from encouraging retail investors to buy stock, which boosts transaction fees. Such earnings are far larger when stock markets are rising, which explains Wall Street’s genetic propensity to pump the economy.

Daily you paste up this list of interesting topics. Seriously though, the first thing you discredit yourself with is the Albert Pike “Three World Wars” link. That writing style is not the style of Albert Pike, it’s easily recognizable as a forgery. While most of the rest of your list has some legitimate information (albeit barely backed up by any reliable source), the Albert Pike quote makes a mockery of it. If you had ever bothered to read any of Albert Pike’s legitimate work you would be able to distinguish this hogwash with ease. We are no longer an agrarian society. The Great Depression happened when most Americans lived in rural areas. They had gardens, grew crops, and raised livestock. That provided the bulk of their food supplies. Today’s society has become accustomed to fast food restaurants and ready prepared frozen meals they can buy at the grocery stores. A friend of mine who runs a video store (size of BLockbuster) just went out of business this week because the landlord was forced to raise the rent over a 1000 bucks.
Strip malls are emptying out…people are living in tents and boats down here in Florida…a request was just denied by an uncaring city council to permit people to have a tent city (created for their own protection). FLorida has a REAL unemployment figure around 22 percent.
From what I see here and hear from my friends around the nation we have been in a depression for some time now.

that is really sad to hear. but, I believe you. we own a online tile company and our sales have just dropped like a rock since september. we are getting by but not doing very well really. we are going to be trying day trading try to build up money to maybe bail out of this country when the shtf for sure. we know europe pretty well and thus for us we are considering migrating back to europe after our families came here about 200 years ago. our government has ruined this country. they were all bought off by the federal reserve and none have any backbone to take this country back. i have been buying gold and silver as well…..my parents are very old now and I will stay here as long as they are alive but then, it will be time to go.

I was sitting at a traffic light after coming out of walmart yesterday and I realized that virtually everyone around me is absolutely, utterly clueless as to what is going to hit them between the eyes and they are equally totally without knowledge of any kind of what to do for themselves. There might be the 2% out there that can go camping for an extended period of time and thrive, but Im afraid that most of the chickens are going to get plucked.
I see a lot of people posting good advice here. Get what you think you need and get it now. It’s gonna be really really bad and you should be looking at 5 to 10 years with no grocery store, police, or advanced services.
Yes, it can get that bad. I hope not of course, but it can. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best is all the little guy can do.

The great depression has already started, and no one is telling us why:
It took a few years for the first one to bottom out the stock market and Roosevelt kept them
the US in it, and the only reason the US were allowed to come out, was to be able to fight the
second world war.
1st Depression
1.Rich get disproportionatley rich, undermining
consumption in the economy
2.America kept there currency artificially low exporting to Europe, casuing a bubble
in inventory and excess debt in Europe
3.Inflation of money supply, causing the stock market’s price earning ration to be too high
and houses to be overvalueed, hence people can’t afford housing
Solution:
Look to the Biblical year of Jubilee. The first country to come out of the depression, did this.
If every person had been given an equal amt of money to either reduce their debt, or if they have
saved well, to put into their pension fund – this would cause the housing price to have dropped
in real value, as too the stock market. Banking crisis solve. The dollar would devalue.
Ensuring a current account of nil, and empowering trade unions, would increase production and
consumption at home.

Oh…wait…he would..it’s 9.8% officially…they cooked the books on the Sept. numbers to keep it below double digits! – and the broader measure is at 17% – but again that’s the “official” version.

I don’t see how there can be any improvement in the economy until stop the governments from printing fiat money.
Maybe this will help make the danger of fiat money clear.
Imagine you and me are setting across from each other. We create enough money to represent all of the world’s wealth. Each one of us has one SUPER Dollar in front of him.
You own half of everything and so do I.
I’m the government though. I get bribed into creating a Central Bank.
You’re not doing what I want you to be doing so I print up myself eight more SUPER Dollars to manipulate you with.
All of a sudden your SUPER Dollar only represents one tenth of the wealth of the world!
That isn’t the only thing though. You need to get busy and get to work because YOU’VE BEEN STIFFED with the bill for the money I PRINTED UP to get YOU TO DO what I WANTED.
That to me represents what has been happening to the economy, and us, and why so many of our occupations just can’t keep up with the fake money presses. They print up what ever it takes to push, and push, and push us wherever they want.
They have been beating us with our own stick!!!!1

The laundering has almost been completed and the elite have fled to Euros etc. The US dollar is going to be worth anywhere from 5-50% of what it is now worth, 50% is a very conservative figure floating around.
but I am concerned about what the hell the US Military is going to use to pay for there wars? Bullets, Missiles, Fuel on credit from the rest of the world to fight against the rest of the world? It isn’t going to happen. Iran, China, Russia are all laughing all the way to the start of WWIII, that is going to be a total let down, since they shall win by default as the US can’t afford to show up. Or is the US just going to default on its loans to China etc and just resume ownership of the military corporations that make there weapons in the US? IMHO The US is in a very similar position as Germany was before WWII, when it was financed by the enemy.
Now I am not very concerned since I don’t live in the US
That all being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the war has been averted and we have just given the leadership of the world to the obvious winners, China. How else to explain all of the Chinese officials ordering people around in the west? We have Penny Wong in Australia who is fighting for the Carbon Tax, I wonder how many other wrong Wongs are around ordering people about? The UN and esp the WHO branch seems to be filled by them and they ain’t very intelligent and have a very hard time explaining there shakey positions on anything to anyone. We had seen that exactly happen with the WHO when it came to the H1N1 fairy tale pandemic excuses.
