Just thought the WRSA [Western Rifle Shooters Association] and the Sipsey Street boys might like to see what we are wearing while over here in Iraq. We . . . know what the deal is, and when the time comes (which it will), we know where we stand and continue to make preparations for it.

All I can say to that is Hooah! Thank you for your service, K7C, and for stepping up. Give our best regards to your brothers in arms, and let them know we have your six back home. If any of you need anything at all, from socks to helmets, to body armor, just ask and it will be provided. We need you to stay safe and come home healthy.
Oath Keepers here stateside, let your brothers on active duty in Iraq know how you feel. They do come here to read comments, count on that.
Note that the tab in the photo is not the same tab we sell here on our site (which is more of a police style tab). We are having military ACU style tabs with velcro made up, but they are not yet finished. That means the troops are having their own Oath Keeper tabs made up! And no, we did not put them up to it. They are doing this on their own initiative.
So take heart! The message of the oath and its obligations is spreading, and the Guardians of the Republic are listening and responding. And every time you act to spread the message, by whatever means, you cannot know what impact you will have, or how far it will reach. That’s why it’s so crucial that we each do what we can to reach, teach, and inspire as many active duty as possible about their obligation to defend the Constitution and their duty to refuse unlawful orders that would violate the rights of their fellow Americans.
Upcoming Outreach Effort to Put Tabs, DVD’s, and OK Handbooks in the Hands of Active Duty

Coincidentally, the tabs those troops are wearing are almost exactly like the tabs we are having made for our upcoming care package initiative, which will put an Oath Keeper tab, DVD, Oath Keepers handbook, copy of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and other outreach materials, into the hands of active duty deployed worldwide. We plan on launching that effort on Veteran’s Day, November 11 and continuing right on through Bill of Rights Day, December 15, with the goal of delivering all the care packages by Christmas. Now imagine what that will be like! Tens of thousands of our troops reached with the message and a tab. I will post more details very soon.
What’s a Three Percenter?
Now, seeing the other tab and patch in the photo, you may ask “what is a three percenter?” The narrowest definition is that three percenters are hard-line gun owners who are done backing up and will not comply with more infringements of their right to bear arms. A broader definition would be that they are hard-line Americans who are done backing up and will not comply with further infringement of any of their rights. It also alludes to the three percent of the colonists who took to the field against the King during the Revolution, and the estimation that at least three percent of modern Americans will actively fight, if it comes to it, to preserve liberty. Read this essay for more explanation.
Oath Keepers and Three Percenters are separate groups, but it is not a surprise to see people who consider themselves both an Oath Keeper and a Three Percenter. If you read the supplied links you will see why.
While we Oath Keepers have a specialized mission of outreach to current serving, focused on the oath and on refusing to obey unlawful orders, there’s lots of common ground and shared commitment to the Republic among both groups. Go here to read what the Sipsey Street blog has to say about that.

YOU GUYS are idiots… they may not be able to wear them in garrison all the time, but personnel inspections aren’t always done at by-the-letter rules. So it IS possible that someone could wear this while in country. However, depending on the servicemember’s MOS and where they are in country, it may not be wise to wear that due to possible capture situations.

A lot of the men and women I serv with are aware of current events. Even my commanding officer. I make it my mission every day to educate someone on the matters at hand. Not only in my squadron, but navy wide.

He could have:
1: Joined the military and learned of the upcoming tyranny.
2: Joined the military to be one of the elite to come home with training that would help in the fight.
3: Joined the military to gather Intel.

Mad dog, have you ever been to a combat zone? Camp Liberty doesn’t count. I see you in every forum bashing people. Get a life. They aren’t in garrison, so no uniform inspections unless they are in some fobbit MOS. Combat soldiers (like infantry) wear all types of things that wouldn’t be allowed Stateside. Also, I don’t see any senior NCO or respectable officer slamming a soldier for wearing a tab that basically says they will uphold their oath. Now please go jump off a rocky cliff.

Most people in the military are unaware of what is going on until they join the service. 18 year old kids, who find themselves in war. Some like myself joined before september 11th, with the belief that our government wouldn’t put us in harms way unless absolutely necessary. The military men and women have been stabbed in the back by our government worse than anyone else.
Also, going AWOL in a combat zone probably isn’t the smartest thing to do haha

I will reiterate. If you see anything out of the ordinary, begin documenting it, if at least for practice sake. Practice taking inventory of license plates of military/LE vehicles to begin a count of their available units in the area, weapons, personnel, ranks, depots, stock piles, movements, patrols, forward positions, rear positions, radio frequencies, what base they are out of, where they reside, who is friendly to them, who is not, condition of their gear, any air support frequenting the skies above. Anything that can be used, is good practice. If you don’t have them already, binoculars and a radio scanner would be great investments right about now. Recon and Intelligence wins wars.

1. Weapons Marksmanship and Maintenance
2. Hand to Hand Combat Techniques
3. Explosives Manufacturing
4. Bomb Rigging
5. Electronics
6. Data Systems
7. Radio Communications
That’s just a snippet. Now, what have you learned? I think you should think twice about criticizing the people that’ll be on the front lines shooting at our own brothers and sisters if the worst happens.

Listen guy, the boys in the military dont have much of a choice right now but to be in iraq, the time is not right for going awol. Id rather have a man in the military ready to fight when the time comes then some awol jerk. I dont agree with the illegal war in Iraq but thats no reason to put down the men and women there doing thier jobs. Mostly all of thier superiors are traitors to the republic and paid for. Lets just hope that when the time comes all treasons traitors get what they have earned.

When will it be the right time. Thats one of the reasons they are over there. So long as they are there, they won’t be here… Problem. We need soldiers home now before it’s too late. There is a chance that should things get bad we won’t see these people home ever again. There is a strong chance if we sit around too much, they aren’t coming home – full stop. People need to wake up and realise this. Obama is keeping them there and he has manipulated and distorted and outright lied, time for people to actually stand up and do something. I agree the time is now for people everywhere to stand up, however when I talk about the military standing up, there needs to be a critical mass. If small groups of soldiers revolt right now they will be executed. the time will come when conciousness is so wide spread that all those who love freedom and liberty will rise up at once. American Veteran and Former Member. Thankyou for you service and Welcome Home. Our oaths did not expire when we were discharged from our respective services. Mine means as much to me today as it did when I took it in 1956. I was raised back in the “Kill a Commie for Christ” era and still hold that belief. 20 years active service almost 4 years in combat and then 11 years in the intelligence field only reinforced those beliefs. I’m with you about the Unconstitutionality of the war, but we need to lay off the troops over there. We don’t know when, how or to what degree this individual has become aware and he has also made voluntary contracts to serve a certain amount of time, and I’m not going to fault anyone for deciding to keep that commitment.
I’d rather have troops over there that are awake and will evaluate the orders they are given than have all of the good guys just quit and leave our military in the hands of the NWO and useful num-skulls.

Everyone who knows anythng about the military knows that during wartime..all the peacetime spit and polish regulations concerning “being out of uniform” are out the window. An inspection ready unit is never ready for combat, and a combat ready unit is never ready for inspection. In fact, I doubt that any unit in a combat area even has uniform inspections.

Finally some good news! I hope this Oath Keeper idea spreads like a wild-fire in all the military, but especially those serving in harm’s-way. If this would happen, I could envision the rank and file soldiers rising-up and actually refusing to go on patrol/fight. If they act en masse, under Oath Keeper princples, THEY THEMSELVES would determine when they came home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is do-able if the soldiers act as one rightous Unit. Regardless, it is heartening to know that the men in uniform that are fighting in this illegal bankster war understand that the Republic is under siege.
The real issue is whether the military at home will protect the citizenry when foreign troops are called in to quell the CIA engineered civil disturbances that will surely arise when the economy implodes.
If those at home keep their oath to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, then we’ll have a chance.
If not – then the American Patriots that rise up to defend the Republic will be cut down by the thousands like the Hungarian Freedom Fighters were in 1956 and the free Cubans during the Bay of Pigs in 1961.
Get on your knees and pray that the Oathkeepers are here in America when the crap hits the fan…

I am afraid Mad Dog is correct. Even if he is a kid that just got there, how many guys go out of country with brand new gear? It wouldn’t look that new if he had been there even for a week.
And Austin is correct as well, most in service don’t have a clue ’til it is too late. The greater percentage of people that join the military do so out of love for their country and what they believe it stood for and not knowing what has been going on behind the scenes for some time. There are plenty of honest hearted people in service that are true brothers in the fight for freedom. Though this may be fake there are the real one out there and they are silent about it because they are smart and know what they are doing and will be there when the time comes and that time I believe is very close.

My husband was stationed in Mosul last year. That IS the correct uniform colors. Also he had a flag patch very similiar to the one worn in this photo. However I must agree that the gear looks entirely too clean. Hubby always complained about everything getting covered in dust. Even said that he could take a shower and before he would get back to where he was sleeping he would be covered in dust again.

Ok, Let me clear this up for everyone right now. Check it out. I’m here right now in Iraq, The gear he is wearing is new and bought him self. Now as far as body armor. Yes he doesn’t have an IBA on as all you old schoolers remember, but rather plate carriers. And yes, they are wearing then in Afgan and to be honest if you are rolling out on mission, it doesn’t matter what you wear. As long as it’s holds ballistic plates. I have to different vests up here so I can wear either one. And if it’s not plate carriers, if a MOLLE system that can go over your body armor.
As for the Patches, again, if you are rolling out they are not going to stop the mission if you have “morale” patches on. Hell I have my girlfriends name on a tab that goes on my pouch. Like Sgt said. Don’t get caught wearing it on the FOB. you get chewed. But everything he is wearing is common battle dress for outside the wire.
As far as him not having his weapon. Of course he doesn’t. Why the hell who he need to carry it around in a safe zone?

Can we be a little realistic here? IF someone taking serious an Oath that they already took to “Support and Defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foriegn and domestic” then you yourself may have a few personal issues, I personally don’t care what those issues are. I swore this oath over 6 times as career military, and if I had not taken those oaths dead seriously then you may have had a reason to have been concerned, and I think that anyone that wears a uniform in the service of this nation that does’nt take it dead seriously ought to be considered unfit for service. I see a group like this that is basically reminding people of their oaths a GOOD thing.
What sort of whacked out paranoia would cause any sane American to attack a group like this? There has ALWAYS been training in every military service concerning “unlawful orders” or orders that are “unconstitutional” as being illegal and never to be followed under any circumstances, these would be ANY order from ANYONE that is in direct conflict with the U.S. Constitution. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen are taught these things in basic training. Why? Because the U.S. military are not idiots. A brief look at history in the case of pre-WWII Germany might give you a clue, the german officers were suddenly “required” to take an Oath of Allegiance to the Hitler, NOT the nation, and in doing so sold their souls for what happened later. So really, I don’t get what your point is here? Why would this concern anyone that understands and supports the constitution?

When I was in the Air Force, during the Vietnam War, if I had anything on my uniform that wasn’t authorized to be there, I would have been reprimanded for being “out of uniform” and they would have made me remove it on the spot. I find it very hard to believe that soldiers in a combat zone are somehow escaping regulations and are able to wear these “tabs” on their uniforms without immediate repercussions.

There is a distinct possibility to CO and XO of the unit in question just don’t care to lose good troops over a tab, or that they support the cause. Per uniform standards, I should not have worn certain things either, but I had a great CO who realized that troops who had the gear they wanted perform better. Perhaps the CO wants his troops to speak their minds. I can tell you this, my CO always said to bend rules not break them and whatever you do, don’t get caught. I am sure if Obammy or a flag officer actually made it to whatever remote base these guys are in, the tab would quickly go into a pocket.

It’s true. There are a ton of non regulation tabs over there, You can get anything from your callsign, nickname, state flag, heck just about anything. Depending on your chain of command some are allowed to wear em “outside the wire” for morale reasons, but don’t get caught on the FOB wearing one cause sure as hell you’re gonna get chewed out for it. Last time I was over we had tabs and patches made for our callsigns and team. We wore them on the road, but as soon as we hit the gate they came off. Still nice to see some Oathkeeper tabs out there. Hooahh.

Well, McChrystal did leak his position on troop levels out, really pissing off Obama and forcing his hand, pretty much damning his own career by ratting out the POTUS. I know guys who have served under Mc Chrystal and say he could give 2 $hitz about politics. But, as anyone who has served knows, you can tell alot about a guy from what is on his uniform. Look at the photos of some of the other generals. Look for combat ribbon and airborne/diver insignia. Who has spent a lifetime as a desk jockey, and who has led combat operations. The flag officers who have actually been shot at will usually side with the oathkeepers, because they truly understand the sacrifice and what they are doing it for.

Well, now that you mention it, I do recall that in war zones, things get more relaxed, as far as uniforms go. During WWII, for example, GIs had all kinds of unauthorized stuff on their helmets, etc., and probably in Korea and Vietnam, as well. I was stationed stateside during Vietnam and you couldn’t get away with anything like this where I was.

God Bless the Oath Keepers!! Gary you make a very valid point. The uniform and gear look surprisingly clean and unmarked also. However I’ve personally spoke with Iraq veterans that questioned every order and actually disobeyed orders. There is more of that going on than you might know. Remember the questionnaire that was submitted not to long ago asking troops if they would fire on or police their own citizens? I had this thought that oath keepers and other enlistees that say no to shooting or policing the American citizens maybe the next to have elongated tours in Iraq or to be some of the now 60,000 troops requested for Afghanistan. Are they going to ship all of these 3%ers overseas so they have no chance to help us? It’s a possibility. I’m sure they have contingencies for such patriots.

It is my understanding that when a person joins the military they give up many civil rights for the duration of their enlistment, i.e., curbs on their first amendment. Also, the military is VERY strict about the uniform; that is why I find it hard to believe that they would tolerate enlistees slapping on freelance tabs and patches. Do you think they would permit the Wiccan Rede: “An it harm none, do what ye will”?
The author says that these patches/tabs are velco-backed, therefore can be slapped on for an anonymous photo op and just as quickly removed. Unless the faceless subject reveals his/her name, rank, and serial number, I have to conclude that this is just a piece of Oath Keepers propaganda.

unohoo, perhaps you have some of your references mixed up, but I fail to understand how you can possibly come up with what the Oath Keepers and the Three Percent have anything in common with Hitlers SA or the Brownshirts. Maybe my understanding of European history if faulty, because I have come to believe that Hitler’s SA (which he ordered exterminated after they made it possible to become Chancellor) advocated political principles that radically opposed Germany’s documents of governmental structure and order. What we didn’t get with the oath was a badge on our sleeve to boost our memory and egos. We all understood what the oath stood for and we dared not break it.

Good greif why do so many question the authenticity of these patches? You would be amazed at how relaxed some regulations can be at times over there in Iraq. Unless you have been there or know someone well who has been or is there, you don’t have good info. Maybe they do have to take them off at certain times but I’m sure they are allowed to wear them, as some one said, ‘for morale reasons.’ Upper command is realizing they better do something to keep the troops happy and little things like this do matter.

I stood on Lexington Green with Stewart Rhodes, and took the oath April 19th.
After twice emailing them about the brutal G20 Military & Police attacks on citizens trying to peacefully march, there is still not ONE WORD about it anywhere on the Oathkeepers website.
This, even though attacking peaceful assembly is one of their “Orders They Will Refuse to Obey”.
It seems as though Stewart Rhodes’ Oathkeepers organization is not what I thought it was. He either doesn’t have the guts to actually denounce the G20 police riots or he is some type of COINTELPRO operative trying to be “Gatekeeper” for military and police.
Alex needs to have him on the show and confront him directly as to why they refuse to even mention the brutality by police and military against peaceful citizens.

It depends on the unit commander. Some might find it out. I remember being told anything that supports the mission of the army, shows positive support of the uniform and moral is always welcome. You assume that there is no support for this. Some commanders might even tell every soldier to wear in the unit. Then they would be out of uniform. AR-670-1. For exam during PT if you had an Go Army T-shirt even if it wasn’t standard issue, most would let you wear it. Since this based on tradition. I remember even when I was on active duty being reminded the oath that took. Please I wish everyone would quit assuming that once these kids are on active duty they are totally stupid.

If the military sides with Obama, remember, they don’t have to fight with one hand tied behind their backs like in Iraq and Afghantistan. The whole point would be to maximize civilian casualties. They would just shell entire towns from a safe distance and guard the artillery with heavy machine guns and tanks. Last time I checked, you can purchase an AR-15, but you can’t purchase a piece of heavy artillery, a M1A1 abrams battle tank, or a heavy machine gun (well possibly a machine gun on the black market)…. you get me. Our military could just use awful bio weapons and chemical weapons. It would be over before you know it regardless how many AR-15 weilding red necks come out of the woods.

This is great if it’s real, our military in uniform wearing wearing “Oath Keeper & 3 Percent,” if it’s true. Maybe this will catch on here in the US.
I occasionally talk to our local cops and they are aware of what’s happening to some extent. Many when in uniform are a little hesitant to talk about it, but occassionaly when working on road-work projects together I get to know them and we talk.
As far as I can tell, most of the cops go along with the real meaning of the “oath keeper” philosophy, as if it ran like blood in their veins. So far, I have not run across any cops that have a any problems with real gun owners and veterans that have proper training with firearms, especially the older cops and chiefs. The overall consensus I am hearing from these guys about guns, is their concern with punks, crooks and crazies having guns and the cops intuitively seem to make this distinction and clearly recognize the difference.
I hope this trend of “oath keeper” & “3 percent” grows and it should become statement that anyone in uniform should be allowed to display so we can recognize the real cops from the communist version of law enforcement as well as active duty service. I’d like to see this sprout among our politicians, so when impersonators like Obama and Hillary attempt to sport such a tag, they can easily be reminded and challenged regarding their grand lie to We The People. The new mantra should then become, “you are either with us, or you are with the enemy”!!!!!!! From there it would become a slam dunk! and then they would have to put up or shut up!

Can we be a little realistic here? IF someone taking serious an Oath that they already took to “Support and Defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foriegn and domestic” then you yourself may have a few personal issues, I personally don’t care what those issues are. I swore this oath over 6 times as career military, and if I had not taken those oaths dead seriously then you may have had a reason to have been concerned, and I think that anyone that wears a uniform in the service of this nation that does’nt take it dead seriously ought to be considered unfit for service. I see a group like this that is basically reminding people of their oaths a GOOD thing.
What sort of whacked out paranoia would cause any sane American to attack a group like this? There has ALWAYS been training in every military service concerning “unlawful orders” or orders that are “unconstitutional” as being illegal and never to be followed under any circumstances, these would be ANY order from ANYONE that is in direct conflict with the U.S. Constitution. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen are taught these things in basic training. Why? Because the U.S. military are not idiots. A brief look at history in the case of pre-WWII Germany might give you a clue, the german officers were suddenly “required” to take an Oath of Allegiance to the Hitler, NOT the nation, and in doing so sold their souls for what happened later. So really, I don’t get what your point is here? Why would this concern anyone that understands and supports the constitution? Seriously, I think that if this somehow frightens you then you really need to get a grip on reality.
