One of my all-time favorite TV actors, Andy Griffith, has passed away at the ripe old age of 86. After Andy first came to fame on the big screen back in 1957 in Elia Kazan’s A Face in the Crowd, he became one of the most famous TV stars in history when he portrayed ‘Sheriff Andy Taylor’ on The Andy Griffith Show in the 1960s. He later went on to have another highly successful TV show in the late 1980s/early 1990s when he starred in Matlock, portraying a savvy, modern-day Southern lawyer.
