Another Establishment News Site Confirms Obama Officials Attended Bilderberg 2009

Politico has reported on a “handful” of Obama administration officials who were in attendance at this year’s Bilderberg meeting at the Astir Palace hotel in Vouliagmeni on the Aegean Sea in Greece. James Steinberg and Richard Holbrooke gave presentations on foreign policy while Paul Volcker addressed economic issues at the elitist confab, according to the news website.

It is illegal under the Logan Act for U.S. government officials to meet behind closed doors with leaders of foreign countries.
James Steinberg, Obama’s Deputy Secretary of State, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. Richard Holbrooke is Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan in the Obama administration and is positioned at the very apex of the CFR. He is a Trilateral Commission member and a virtual fixture at Bilderberg meetings. Paul Volcker is the former chairman of the Federal Reserve under Carter and Reagan and heads up Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. He is a Trilateral member and has had a long association with the Rockefeller family, not only with his positions at Chase Bank and the Trilateral Commission, but also through membership of the Trust Committee of Rockefeller Group.
David Rockefeller is an honorary life director of the CFR, founder the Trilateral Commission, and founding member, life member, and member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group.
A source at the meetings told Politico Holbrooke briefed attendees on the Obama administration’s “unified approach” to dealing with Afghanistan and Pakistan. In March, Obama announced a major escalation of the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan after a “review” by the State Department where Holbrooke serves as point man on the region. During Holbrooke’s appointment in January, Obama declared Afghanistan and Pakistan to be the central front in the war on terrorism.
In addition to Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Bilderbergers discussed how to best exploit the global recession and swine flu, according to Bilderberg reporter Jim Tucker’s inside sources. “Bilderberg owns President Obama,” writes Tucker. “His goal, as dictated by Bilderberg, is to persuade the new Senate (to be seated in January 2010), to ratify the ICC [International Criminal Court] treaty late on a Saturday night, too late for the Sunday papers or to make changes in the Sunday TV talkies.”

Other Obama administration attendees included Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, James Jones, Obama’s National Security Advisor, and Lawrence Summers, Director of the White House’s National Economic Council, according to the 2009 Bilderberg attendee list.
“You will not read of this in the Bilderberg-controlled Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times or hear about it on network news broadcasts,” Tucker added.
Politico admits “the gathering produced barely a blip in the American mainstream media,” with the exception of brief reports by the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press. Most of the coverage on Bilderberg meetings is provided by the alternative press, most notably the American Free Press, Infowars, and Prison Planet.
According to Politico, the Bilderberg’s “ultra-exclusive roster of globally influential figures has captured the interest of an international network of conspiracists, who for decades have viewed the Bilderberg conference as a devious corporate-globalist scheme.” Politico’s source said that any suggestion that Bilderberg is secretly anointing world leaders or plotting global policy is the provenance of “the black helicopter crowd.”
“As in past years, the near-absence of mainstream media coverage left Bilderberg-veil-piercing duties to a group of self-styled Bilderberg hunters whose reporting and speculation fill fringe, libertarian-leaning websites, newspapers and AM radio shows popular with those whose worldview is characterized by a deep and angry suspicion of the ruling class rather than any prevailing partisan or ideological affiliation,” writes Kenneth P. Vogel for Politico.
Politico is an establishment news website owned by media mogul Robert Allbritton and edited by former Washington Post scribes. Donald Graham, CEO of the Washington Post Company, was on the 2009 Bilderberg attendee list.

I’ve never quite understood the Logan Act argument here. While I’m not particularly fond of the style of an organization like the Bildeberg Group, the key section of the Logan Act reads that it forbids “unauthorized” citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. Well, if top level officials were there, it’s quite likely they received the President’s blessing to do so. Or, you could say they received his “authorization,” thus making a case for violation of the Logan Act pretty difficult. In addition, they’re not there to negotiate with a specific government. So, it’s pretty much a mote argument that wouldn’t hold up in any court once the President says that he oked it.
There are plenty of other accusations to throw at the Bildeberg Group. But I stay away from this one because it’s legally not a violation.
With that said, I sure hope this isn’t deleted (as my posts often are, which is weird on a site that champions free speech) as I simply want people to be armed wiht the best information possible, not argue for the Bildeberg Group.

Nope only the president has the authority to do so. And he has to be the one to attend something like that personally. He can not send sub-ordinates. Even then the president had better not betray the citizens of the U.S. by trying to circumvent, unlawfully, or by coercion or other various methods to even plan to go against the constitution or bill of rights. Otherwise this is treason of the highest order. This is clearly multiple violations of the Logan’s act. This helps to confirm treason and by US law is a criminal act of conspiracy. These people that were confirmed to attend this now need to be impeached. For no action taken by our other entities of the our government ( and they do have the power to do such without the president. ) then they become accomplices by way of not prosecuting them or have them prosecuted. When discussing world politics It can only be that countries leader period. That is why the Logan’s act was designed was to try and protect the citizen’s of the world in a sort of way. But it is clearly not being followed or respected.

Sorry, no. This is the full text of the Logan Act:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
The idea that ONLY the President has the authority to attend such a function is simply incorrect. You may be sighting a specific legal case where that argument was made, as the language of the Logan Act is extremely broad and open to interpretation. However, the President has the constitutional authority to authorize people to speak on his behalf in foreign countries (for example, George Mitchell’s recent Middle East tour) as the President is only one many, and technology had not yet been invented to allow that he be in more than one place at a time.
Further, you’re not even touching upon the point that at Bildeberg, there are no negotiations going on with any specific foreign government.
Finally, Richard Holbrooke could NOT be impeached. He holds a position in the administration (State Department) that did not require congressional approval.
So, again, the Logan Act really doesn’t apply here. You can use legal speak to interpret it as you like, but it does not delegate said authority ONLY to the President.

Hey, I’m not trying to start a fight. I’ve just never agreed with the argument that Bildeberg violates the Logan Act. Unfortunately, what goes on at Bildeberg is likely to be seen as legal by many. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some people who could use a 2×4 to the head
for some of the things they’ve done.

Questions. What legally establishes the “the authority of the US”? What if an authorized government official verbally brokers deals behind closed doors, and said deals are deleterious to the US citizens? What laws could cover this situation?
If there aren’t any such laws, that could be a focus for us; legislation requiring public, complete records of these meetings to be made available.
What about an official inquiry probing the nature and content of these meetings. Maybe some sort of government hearings could uncover facts. In turn, these facts could provide a foundation for prosecution, if laws were violated. How can we make this happen?

Every position in Local/State and Federal government DOES NOT require a literal oath to uphold the Constitution. I promise you that New York City Sanitation workers, who are government employees don’t have to take any oath other than agreeing to pick up our trash. And as someone who works in NYC Government, and has worked in a Federal government position, I can also promise that that is simply not true.
Again, the Logan Act does not give teeth to anything. Any good lawyer would be able to argue that if the President had approved of say, Holbrooke’s attending the meeting, then no law was broken. But if you are going to go by that logic, then every member of Congress who goes on an overseas trip to meet with a representatives of a foreign government (which is well within their authority and happens often), would be a prosectuable offense. Further, you’d be giving the executive branch near dictatorial powers that, and I can only speak for myself here, find outrageous. It would nullify the power of Congress as a whole to conduct business in relation to foreign affairs. So, which is it? Do you want the President to have the kind of authority where he can basically prosecute a member of congress who say, disagrees with the policies in Afghanistan and goes on a factfinding trip? Or would you rather the Executive branch stay within it’s constitutional limits?

It was intelligable with facts to back it up of why the Logan’s Act does apply. But it seems like an intelligable arguement is not allowed here. But it does prove what I am saying. A good healthy arguement like what we were doing is good for people in situations like this. It helps to bring people closer to being a team and that is exactly what is needed for the people to be able to be ready and prepared and to be able to act as a team if the need arises. But with out all the arguement it still keeps people sperated. As any indication I am saying your side of the arguement Hierosis was very welcomed. But if I post anything more than saying do not just take the Logan’s act for face value it gets gone and stays gone.

I am wise enough not to “lump” everyone in one group. Not ALL Americans are evil & rotten (mis-informed). I believed, that I was free not long ago. I grew up in in poverty & decendant of Native American & what I was seeing didn’t look it freedom. More gov. rules & regulations. Plan Parenthood telling poor girls lies. I know people who have had abortions & they regret it. I have worked in the nursing homes the elderly who are their are wonderful people. (they have great wisdom) Many, even the elderly believe, it is best to go to a home so not to be a burden. Gov. makes it harder to raise a child or care for your elderly parent. I cared for my mother before she passed away. And, helped family with raising their children & have taken them in.

No suprises here. It’s necessary occasionally for the puppets to meet up and get their instructions to ensure they all sing from the same hymn sheet.

We all of us believe in one bit of history that is a lie, buy one product that is a poison, believe in a scripture that they created, follow a blog that they are behind, believe in a misguided notion of supremacy, buy one piece of their system, vote for “the other party“. “We” argue amongst ourselves when unity of a massive scale is required.
When an organisation of such complexity and depth such as this evil empire presents itself the answering struggle has to be either as well funded, well organised, have the same access to media and the same control over repressive forces (police, army, secret services, the entire apparatus of control) as the opposition , or it has to find a different route. That different route can only be an idea. One single, simple, popular, unarguable, achievable concept that can bring down the edifice of control and reshape the world. We can decide what that shape will be afterwards, the important thing is to decide on the one idea and make it happen, right now. Take that idea and spread it in every way we can, through every media we can access (even by spending our own money), in every conversation we have, in every language in the world to every person in the world. One idea that will spread faster than their viruses and more powerfully than they can control.
As John Pilger said in one of his excellent documentaries there are two world powers, America and public opinion. The latter should be harnessed to take from the ruling elite all of those instruments of Government power and control which they currently access via their control of the major political parties in all the world’s democracies.
Maybe that idea should be that, at every election in the world in countries where elections are held, electors choose only candidates who are not and never have been members or affiliates of political parties.

Good post Olive Farmer. I read the articles here but don’t post much. This is because most of the comments are a bit silly and off-topic. Christians of all kinds rant on here without as so much considering that their beliefs apply only to them and are a result of blatant manipulation over a lifetime by salesmen preaching with power tools.
Waiting to “be taken up to heaven” is just like gun control. The more people can be sold this, the easier they can be exterminated. By buying into a man made falsehood they close their minds to any rational survival steps and remain blindly ignorant.
I’m sure that there once were good Christians a long time ago, but if you met them today you probably wouldn’t even recognize their faith. Nothing wrong with a group of elites getting together to unwind, especially since they say it is not business and no intention of setting world policies.

Wow! – Do people still use the “black helicopter” crowd insult anymore!??
I thought that argument stopped being in vogue when unmarked, black, military style helicopters started becoming a regular occurence in cities across the U.S.
I watched them fly overhead for days when I attended the DNC – a pretty pathetic show of force for what was essential nothing more than an Establishment Love-Fest!

Kurt Nimmo is a tool! He mentions the Logan Act in this garbage he writes while knowing full well that there will NEVER be any member of Congress or the Senate that pursues charges. 9/10ths of the law is interpretation and apparantly the House interprets it differently than us all. Why is Barry Soetoro TOTUS when he is a foreigner? It’s called interpretation. Deal with it Kurt but don’t lean on it in your slathing articles. I think that is the point to the article. He is attempting to show us and hopefully embarrass people into seeing that there is rules for you and me and rules for the elite and the powerful. The majority of the members of congress and the senate have broken the logan act more than once. The point is that this is a secret meeting that no one in the media inside the US will talk about. The only secret meeting the did talk about last week was the New York meeting of the richest people in the US and some across the planet (including Oprah). But yet they won’t even say a single thing about kings, queens, the elite of the world and others going to a meeting and questioning what they are talking about.

People, people, do you not realize one simple item that is on the list of the eliet? What does reduction of “carbine footprint” mean? What better way to reduce this “footprint”? Think man think!
