I just hope the Senate, throws the Bill away like they should! I have already been in contact with several, over the last week or so, and have told them of MY thoughts on this issue, and several have said that they have been getting alot of calls on this Bill! The only problem with everyone calling is this, The Bill will not come before the Senate right away, and several Senators will forget the conversations that they have had with US, their Constituents! Then they will be pressured by the Obama bunch, and vote for the damn thing, especially if we don’t keep up the pressure!

Alex knows all about this. If you’re a regular listener you have heard him correct callers who try to recite long web addresses (URLs), by saying, “we don’t use URL’s in this modern age — we use search engines. Just give the headline, and I’ll google it.” He says that all the time.

The same is true in a web page you’ve got in front of you (Ctrl-F for “Find”) or a PDF (binocular icon). My God, man, why walk 20 miles when you can catch a bus? This isn’t 1860! Does your computer run on coal oil? Or do you burn leaves and sticks in it?

There is no doubt, as far as I can see, not about that.

I grant you, he was being sarcastic to an extent. But not wisely. For he then goes right ahead and argues seriously against the thing (straw-man) he sarcastically posited.

“I just think that we have other points of contention to deal with right now!”

When an intelligent or educated person hears such a kangaroo argument as the straw-man about “toxic”, they immediately write Alex and his whole audience off as Li’l Abner types from Dogpatch, impervious to rational thought. Which, if Alex’s argument is valid, that increased solar output is to blame for the increase in global temerature, and there really have been increases throughout the solar system including shrinking of the Martian polar caps, which is an actual realistic argument if true, why, then, this valid argument is lost in the empty chatter about “toxic”.

Thats known as shooting oneself in the foot. For all I know, Alex is right about solar output, and I’d hate to see a valid point get lost in invalid bluster and bombast.

That’s all — just don’t waste good food by mixing in hair tonic, like a bunch of 6-year-olds playing kitchen.

How many politicians is that? Do you have a count? And how many times did they collectively speak of it? Were you a witness to every such event? And what is the formal title of “the damn thing”, and when was the vote cast? Are you sure there was such a vote? Would you bet your house on it?

Can you provide even one example with a traceable reference or link? With all due respect, I cannot imagine any person in favor of limiting greenhouse emissions using the word “toxic” in that context, referring to that subject.

Words mean things — they’re not just percussive condiments, like wind-chimes. Serious people don’t add words for effect unless the precise meaning of them is applicable in the sentence.

Please, if you are serious, give me one real example, a headline, a URL, an exact quote from the media article you read that included this language, that I can google and read for myself.

Otherwise, look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, “Do I really want to make statements that are wholly without substance, and swear to them on line?”
