WOW...This 'Harmless' Erosion of Civil Rights Asks Citizens to Participate in Snitching While Criminalizing 'Bad'--Not Just Criminal-- Behavior & Expands Surveillance
CINCINNATI -- Paul Brown Stadium has a new measure in place to keep fans' behavior in check.
Anyone who spots boorish behavior during a Bengals game can call 513-381-JERK. A police office will answer the phone, use a camera to zoom into the section and send security guards.
"You get a lot of people fighting, people who are threatening other fans," stadium development director Bob Bedinghaus said.
It's not just crimes that can be reported over the line -- bad behavior is investigated, too.
"You should be aware of your surroundings if there is a family atmosphere around you," fan Kurt Kaufman said.
Officers can give the unruly fans a warning, toss them out of the stadium -- even revoke their season tickets.
"What we're trying to get rid of is somebody that just stands up and for the entire game continues to yell curse words," Bedinghaus said.
