Blanco resists Bush takeover of Guard
Total Information Analysis | September 6 2005
Good news as Associated Press reports that Louisiana Governor Kathleen "Blanco has refused to sign over control of the National Guard to the federal government." This is an excellent development as the federal government, via FEMA, continues its war on the people of Southeast Louisiana.
To wit, from WWLtv.com Katrina blog Sept. 5:
"3:32 P.M. Ben Morris, Slidell mayor: We are still hampered by some of the most stupid, idiotic regulations by FEMA. They have turned away generators, we've heard that they've gone around seizing equipment from our contractors. If they do so, they'd better be armed because I'll be damned if I'm going to let them deprive our citizens. I'm pissed off, and tired of this horse$#@@."
FEMA continues to block supplies and even sabotage local law enforcement infrastructure. Blanco and all of Louisiana must do everything they can to keep the feds from assuming mroe controland wreaking further havoc and death.
Blanco should also do everythingt she can to get the Louisiana Guard and its equipment home from Iraq ASAP. People from Louisiana are more likely to be empathetic with people who want to return and rebuild ASAP, to view the people as people rather than potential targets.
