| No charges laid over de Menezes shooting LONDON - The police officers who mistakenly shot dead Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell Tube station last year will not face criminal charges, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said on Monday. The Metropolitan Police as a body will however be prosecuted under health and safety laws over the July 22, 2005 shooting, which came in the wake of last year's London suicide bombings and an alleged copycat attempt to bomb Tube trains the day before, on July 21.
