Dozens Gather for 9/11 Protest on I-10 Bridge
KTAR | September 12, 2007
The Tenth Street pedestrian bridge over the I-10 freeway was the site of a 9/11 protest Tuesday afternoon.
FIfty-five people marched during the afternoon rush hour.
One of them held an upside down flag. "That is a distress signal. You're upset with your government, you're upset with your country," says Tim King of "9/11 Truth AZ."
He thinks the government used the 9/11 terror attacks as an excuse to attack Saddam Hussein. "Any time you want to take a country to war, you need a reason. You need an enemy to form that social cohesion within the society to point to an enemy so you can go attack.
"We wanted to utilize 9/11 and try and wake up the public to many of the unanswered questions that are still going on today six years later," says King.
The group also wants to know about World Trade Center Seven, which wasn't hit by a plane, but collapsed about eight hours after the attacks. "That building collapsed at 5:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on that day and it fell in free fall speed which means there was no resistance below it. So, that in and of itself is a huge question for a lot of us and no one seems to be wanting to answer that question."
