Has Deep Throat finally been revealed?
Associated Press | May 31, 2005
A former top official at the FBI has reportedly admitted he was "Deep Throat" -- the unidentified source used by two Washington Post reporters to help uncover the Watergate scandal that led to Richard Nixon's resignation.
According to Vanity Fair magazine, the admission comes from W. Mark Felt, who was the associate director of the FBI in the early 1970s.
Reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein had vowed never to reveal the identity of their source until after his death.
Felt is now 91 and living in California.
