4 U.S. Troops Wounded In Afghan Suicide Attack

Kandahar, Afghanistan -- A police official says the head of a suicide bomber has been found near where a bomb hit a U.S. military vehicle in southern Afghanistan.A local Afghan police chief says the blast near Kandahar was a suicide assault. The U.S. military says the bombing wounded four American soldiers. A U.S. military spokesman says the wounded, one in serious condition, were flown to a U.S. base in Kandahar for medical treatment. An Afghan deputy police chief says the bomber rammed a car full of explosives into the U.S. vehicle.
A purported Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility in a telephone call to The Associated Press.
