Ban Knives ENNEPETAL, Germany - A man wielding a knife seized four children from a bus and was holding them in a cellar in a western German town on Tuesday, police said. The man snatched the children in Ennepetal, a town near the industrial Ruhr Valley, at about 1 p.m. Police said the man was possibly of Iranian origin and was demanding his family be allowed to join him in Germany. Police special forces were surrounding the building where the children were being held. The area had been cordoned off. A police spokesman could not give any details about the children, but the hostage-taker was in his early 50s. "We have information from witnesses at the scene. You could say he is known to police," the spokesman said.
