Fear of US Attack Forces N. Korea to Develop Nuclear Program

While the political tension between the US and North Korea continues, experts advocate that the force compelling North Korea to develop its nuclear program is the fear that US might attack the country.

North Korean administrators perceive the US as an imperialist force determined to destroy the North Korean's workers paradise by using nuclear weapons against them This perception has its foundations in the events of 1950s The Washington administration had threatened North Korea that they would use nuclear weapons against them many times during the 1950-53 Korea War.

South Korea, a US ally for 50 years, is concerned that the US might attack Pyongyang with a pre-emptive war strategy before North Korea has the opportunity to use its nuclear weapons.
