Russian peacekeepers may participate in international operations

Russian defense minister Sergey Ivanov has said that a Russian peacekeeping brigade may take part in international peacekeeping operations. Though the brigade has been formed to operate within Russia, it may also be used in the CIS, the minister commented. At the same time, he added that the unit might participate in international missions in the event that corresponding political decisions were made.
