Whistleblower information about the misuse of “administratively uncontrollable overtime” by some U.S. Border Patrol agents has been confirmed, according to the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.
The Office of Inspector General released a 14-page audit saying some agents were paid overtime hours for being CrossFit Instructors.
“We are aware of the audit that took place. That’s something the Office of Special Counsel has been investigating for two to three years, and it was a concern to the border patrol and to the agency,” said Shawn Moran, the Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council.
There are about 144 border patrol agents that serve as CrossFit instructors in eight different sectors, according to the audit obtained by Action 4 News.
