The Governor of the Bank of England has called for the Bank to gain more powers so it can carry out its new role of promoting financial stability.

He said how the central bank would apply its new powers was “not clear”.
The major lesson of the finance crisis was that authorities lacked the means to take effective action, he added.
Mr King, delivering the annual Mansion House speech, said the bank could not continue acting “like a church” whose congregation “ignores its sermons”, but said it was not entirely clear how the Bank would be able to discharge its new statutory responsibility.

You’re absolutely right about that John. The worst part about all of this is that Obama is saying its going to allow for better regulation, and that their powers wont just be limited to banks, but will be over all banking institutions!!!! IS HE CRAZY!!!!!??? The Fed needs to be regulated until the federal reserve act can be repealed and the Fed shut down. I have made sure to contact my congresswoman in support of Ron Paul’s bill and I am glad to say she was one of the first or second of handfuls to co-sponsor the bill. Please send the petition if your conressperson has not co-sponsored, and send one anyway even if they have! Call them! Stop into their office!!!!

So as the world’s money devalues in response to the fiat creation of so much of it, the banks respond, in turn, by vesting themselves, through their legislative shills, with control of more of it. Naturally. Oh, how they long for the day when all monetary exchange is remotely and digitally controlled by them, via the various chips we will carry in our various bodies and possessions.
Barter may be the only civilized option.

Hmm. Perhaps “a” and “the” are grossly overused as well. Seems like correct usage would be the point. A quick webdictionary search brought up one of the primary definitions of “shill” as “spokesperson”, and that’s precisely what I feel our congresscritters have become – spokespeople for the bankers. However, in deference to your sensibilities, I will gladly amend my above post to, “…, through their legislative spokespeople,…”.
By the way, if speech is a right, it certainly is an inalienable one! I think, rather, that it’s the freedom of my speech that you respect, and I appreciate that. Say, we could innovate right now, and start kind of a refund barter system! You give me back my “shill” – and I’ll give you your “freedom”!

I spent about half a year paying attention to Alex Jones and InfoWars, With time it became very clear the racism and propaganda they put out. What Alex Jones inspires in people — which I felt myself falling for — is that Alex has the inside info, and if you are listening to him then you do, too, and soon it’s easy to adopt the attitude that only you know the truth and everyone else is deceived. If anyone reading this has an immediate reaction that what I’m saying here is bunk, that’s what I’m talking about. How many people actually DO look into what Alex says in great detail, truly considering all viewpoints? Check out “Extremism, Conspiracy Theory & Murder” on NPR’s “Fresh Air.” This doesn’t mean the current administration is free from corporate/banking control. It just means Alex, if you really look closely, is not worth paying much, if any, attention to; he does the same kind of scapegoating and demonizing that too many people, on the Left and the Right, carry out to very negative effects. Awareness, informed rational thought, positive energy that brings people together by respecting differences… that’s the way to go.
