ATLANTA – Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr said he’s receiving backing from supporters of Ron Paul’s failed White House bid.

Barr told reporters on Thursday that he’s in contact with the Republican congressman from Texas. And he added that Paul supporters are contributing to his campaign and working as volunteers. Paul is a former Libertarian candidate for president himself. He recently dropped out of the GOP race after it became clear Arizona Sen. John McCain had secured the nomination.

Paul still enjoys a loyal base of support. Some of them say they are now giving Barr a look.

Barr, a former congressman and federal prosecutor from Georgia, was at the state Capitol filing ballot access paperwork.

    1. Paul Says:

I’m confused, is Ron Paul still running? Can we still vote for him in November or is he out of the race? Is there still going to be a July 4th Ron Paul rally, as was discussed months ago? Is there going to be a Ron Paul counter rally at the DNC? Questions, questions…

    2. Travis Says:

He is not still running, he has started the campaignforliberty.com site in hopes that he can fund YOU as a candidate running on his platform, and on the rallies, yes and yes.

And yes he technically could still be nominated, but you know the big B will never let that happen.

    3. Travis Says:

      correction

      campaignforliberty.ORG .ORG! not .com sorry.

      actually, it is both
      http://www.campaignforliberty.org or http://www.campaignforliberty.com

    5. Joe Says:

Yes you can still vote for Ron Paul as a write in candidate. 2nd Bob Barr supported the patriot act and voted for it while in congress. If you vote for him you might as well vote for Obama and/or McCain as well. All three do not care about your civil liberties!!!

    6. Thom- U.C.C. 1-207 All Specific Rights Reserved Without Prejuduce Says:

A write in vote for Ron Paul is the only vote that I can make in all good conscience.

I have considered Barr and Baldwin as candidates but none fill me with the hope that Ron Paul does. If your state allows write ins on the ballots then please write in Ron Paul for President.

    7. ew keane Says:

ron paul, the write in candidate. dont waste vote on the son of cain, or the guy from chicago.

    8. Heidi Faith Says:

The Ron Paul betrayers (AKA people who backed him and then gave up) are a big dissapointment. If you were a true Ron Paul patriot, you’d write him in on election day, not give up and vote for Barr.

    9. WRITEINDONTCOUNT Says:

I HATE TO TELL YOU< WRITE IN VOTE DON’T COUNT. Do your homework. Otherwise I would also write in Ron Paul. But if you just write in your vote. It doesn’t count.

    10. patriot Says:

Barr is a spook, my vote is for Chuck Baldwin

    11. Rhonda Says:

I somewhat agree that write-in votes do not count or else they would be on the ballot, in my opinion. Still, Ron Paul stands for something that we all liked as the package. I see no reason to vote for anyone else, especially since no one else, except for Jessie (the mind/body) Ventura, seems worthy to me and has a chance of winning. Writing his name in at least makes a statement. Of course it could label you as a “terrorist”, but so what? It is time that more action is taken on our part. Barr or anyone else is not Ron Paul. I am not out for any particular party. I am out for the best qualified person. As an example, Dr. Paul was/is a baby doctor, yet I would not like him to perform an abortion on me. His heart would not be in it. His heart is in what he politically is doing and has been expressing and that is what makes him so loved and also hated. No one just because of being affiliated with a party will be like another in the same party. Therefore I say………

      DR. PAUL FOR PRESIDENT,
      Rhonda :-)

God dammit! I can’t believe our big army for the rEVOLution is getting duped by a fake libertarian that’s a “War on Drugs” toting former CIA director. This was ingenious of the elitists to stomp out the rEVOLution before it goes mainstream. This Barr asshole really f---ed over the revolution bigtime and is a huge distraction.

In any event, get involved in local politics. It is always important to vote in every city/county/state election, write letters to local representatives, and fix things in our own communities. If we do this nationwide than the federal government will have less power, because the states will be unwilling to do what Washington tells them to do. For example, my state just opted out of REAL ID, and just beefed up funding and patrol for illegal aliens, and now we have an employer sanctions that just got started.

We need more state senators like AZ Senator Karen Johnson. It’s women like her that really have a big impact on the revolution. She helped bring 9/11 truth into our media monopoly, and always defends the old school Republican platform.

    13. baldWINfan Says:

Bob Barf makes me sick, his open borders, NAU agenda will stop our revolution in its tracks.
I cant wait to see Chuck Baldwin at the Revolution March, he seems like a true American patriot.
