But after a photo developer at Wal-Mart thought otherwise, the Demarees found themselves in a yearlong battle to prove they were not child pornographers.
“I don’t’ understand it at all,” A.J. Demaree told “Good Morning America” Monday. “Ninety-nine percent of the families in America have these exact same photos.”
The eight photos in question were among a batch of 144 family photos the Demarees had taken to their local Wal-Mart. The developer alerted the police and the investigation into child pornography began in earnest, even though the parents maintained they were innocent bath time photos.

If they had done it to me, I would have found out who the idiot was and put them through the wall. I don’t usually advocate violence just off-hand, but when it comes to people’s children, they are really the only thing that matter (i.e., your family) and when everything else is gone they are all we have left. So, if they took away my children, I’d have nothing else to live for and I would make it my sole mission to take out everyone involved. I spent some time as a foster parent in Oklahoma. If Arizona is anything like here, having your kids taken by CPS is terrible. Every time we got a kid from the childrens’ shelter they had bags under their eyes and sunken in temples. Children cannot thrive in even the best shelter. It’s traumatic for them to be taken from the familiar and put in a kid kennel. They don’t eat, they don’t sleep and they fight each other. Most foster parents I’ve met are great people, but it’s still not home. CPS was too quick on the draw there.

Something like this happened a while ago so I’m surprised to hear that someone made this mistake again. I know that parents take bathtime picture’s. They are all over myspace and blingee. Some people take picture’s of a young child with no shirt on or they’ll have a baby running around in diapers. I think it’s silly of parents to post their child’s picture online if they are naked. (We all know that that are no laws when it comes to being monitered online and we’ve all heard stories of someone’s picture being claimed as personal property by social nerworking sites not to mention the perverts…and the government’s paid perverts)
SO, I think it was smart of these parents to take their picture’s to a store like Walmart or Walgreens, because we all know that the government can view our picture’s, emails, and hear our phone calls and read our texts….therefore, I don’t even load my picture’s onto my cpu anymore. When people are being “psychologically tormented” by people who are hired by the government to harrass them and hack into their personal computer’s, people shouldn’t load their personal or family picture’s on their cpu anymore. There are plenty of women on myspace who cancelled their profiles because they knew someone was stealing their picture’s and making fake profile’s and still….someone got all their up to date picture’s and were able to continue pretending to be that person (myspace probably hires people to make fake profiles because they are the one’s making whoring icons for teens).
I even read a story on yahoo about a family’s picture ending up on a billboard in another country. The family’s friend visited the country and saw them and then called them. They family was clueless about how something like that could’ve happened. Walmart probably will be sued…maybe not for a lot but, the family can say they were trying to protect their privacy because people have no online anymore. What’s the point of paying for virus protection every month or yearly?

I think what the parents did was wrong. I remember a family down the street when I was a child had pictures on the wall of my childhood friend (she was 5 and I was 6). Ok, the parents used poor judgment, but the way they have been handled is wrong as well. Unfortunately, Wal-Mart will not lose this case because anyone can call child services if they feel a child is being threatened.

Unfortunately, your right. Any photo lab technician that even suspects abuse is obligated to contact the authorities. In a perfect world, common sense would prevail when it is determined the images are harmless. But once the law enforcement machine begins to spin, often the parents end up spending thousands in court costs and children are removed from their homes and put in abusive environments.

4w578i, I work a part time job for them as I am semiretired to subsidize my income. I have a neuromuscular disease of the nerves that affect my muscles in my feet and legs. It has now progressed to hands and arms. With the Grace of God and my medicine I walk, stand and do my job. I do not rely on welfare and I have had personal worthiness all my life. It is close to my home, less gas and wear on my car. Yes, I know all about the scenario of Wal Mart being evil. But I am out working, not on disability. When and if I can no longer stand I will try to find a sit down job. Now is not a good time to change what you have. Have you noticed? I was downsized before that from a job of many years and discriminated against because of age. It happens even though if is against Fed law. I have met good, hard working people there. I am disappointed your experience has been jaded regarding WalMart employees. We would treat you better at our store.

Has been my experience that the general public using the restrooms are the nasty ones. Women and young girls after using the stall next to you walking out without washing hands. Urinating all over the seat and floor, not flushing. Throwing used feminine articles on the floor instead of using container provided. These are the very people who complain of the cleanliness. People spying? Never seen any evidence of such. If a person keeps coming in without a receipt numerous times why would they not question? People do steal all the time and try to bring back for a refund. Can’t comment on chicken. Have not seen men’s restroom, heard there is some gross stuff in there.

This is political correctness taken to a new extreme. My parents have photos and even *gasp* VIDEO of me and my brothers goofing around in the tub. Parents take videos and pictures of their kids ALL THE TIME, it’s what they do! They’re recording memories and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I have 4 siblings, and there are 5 pictures of this, just in our family. They were professionally done, nobody was hurt by that. Nobody thought anything about it. I’m Christian. The Catholic church is definitely not Christian. They pray to/worship Mary. They set a godhead up between man and Jesus, the priest. Just those two facts alone go completely against Christianity. So it is a cult. And I was raised Catholic, I went through all the sacraments, became confirmed. So I know what I’m talking about. It wasn’t until many years later that I became born again and realized all the lies I had been taught. I was re-baptized when I accepted Jesus as my savior in my adult life. Read the Bible yourself if you think Catholicism is Christian. Join a Bible study, get in the word, it sounds like you need it. I’m not judging you, just trying to help you.

since everyone else is off topic here’s my problem with the catholics. they are like government. down at the bottom there are millions of good people who mean well and do very good things to help their fellow man. many even give their lives to help others. but way up at the top they’re a bunch of evil power hungry monsters. once in a while a catholic preist goes against the vatican in service to his people and ends up dead as a doornail. more often a catholic preist molests and hurts their congregation and those scumbags are moved from parish to parish to do it over and over with no warning from the people at the top. they not only do that, they impede police investigations because to them it’s all about power and control. this is why so many people hate the fucking catholics. but it’s not any different than any powerful government or orginazation.

Listen! I think we should just forget about shopping at Walmart. There are other places to shop and do not have terrible customer service like this. If you need to print pictures get a photo printer, Kodak has them you can get them online, you just got to know where to look. Walmart does not keep their food fresh. I remember when I was shopping for some chicken. The bag of chicken had alot of blood in it and it was bad. If you want to stay home and have money just shop online instead of Walmart.
