Bernanke is full of shit….the president of Bank of America said exactly the same thing, in an interview for PBS’s “Frontline”. Bank of America actually wanted to back out, right before closing this deal, because they got info about how toxic Merrill was, but Paulson and Bernanke let him know, in so many words, that they couldn’t back out of the deal, or else, BofA would pay the price. Hell, the journalist from N.Y. Times is on the program, breaking this exact story, saying exactly what this story claims. The program’s available online at the PBS site. It’s located under “frontline”, for any who are interested.
I watched this exact program about 2-3 weeks ago. The president of BofA almost lost his job over this deal, b/c the stockholders were PISSED, after it was done and they weren’t aware of the details concerning the shape Merrill was in, at the time of this purchase. This isn’t any kind of breaking news, but I guess there are more people who read Reuters than watch PBS’s “Frontline”.

i cant take alex jones and his little mini me side kick (jason) anymore. it’s hard to listen when they start name calling and acting like little spoiled children. i just can’t belive the childish things they say. i wish they would report the info without all the childish hatefull remarks,…….

You know C Andrew, I tend to agree, to a point. They really need someone else to do the P.R. b/c Alex is just too emotionally involved and comes off like a bit of a nutcase (I know I won’t get any love for saying this, but if you look at this objectively, its really true). The man (Alex) has his heart and head in the right place, but he just comes off wrong, when he’s televised/videotaped, and that does a disservice to the importance of the information being revealed. I have to believe that most anyone who’s watched some of his work will agree that he does kinda makes one cringe, at times. I intend no disrespect, at all, in fact, I respect him for the stand he decided to take; that took/takes balls, period. But these reactions play right into the hands of those who would rather keep this information hushed up They portray Alex as a nut, by using some of his emotional reactions against him and the message. This is definitely counterproductive, b/c although many who come here know that he’s not psycho, if you’ve never seen him before and they show one of the clips where he starts to go off, you may end up drawing that conclusion.
Considering the importance of the information, it shouldn’t matter WHO gets the face time on the tellie, as long as the information get’s out there. I really wish that he could understand that no matter what, he will always be the main one credited and that by using someone else, his agenda would be taken more seriously, by even more people. IMHO, of course.

I hope the fed gets audited like the many businesses in the united states get audited, by government storm troopers with ski masks and automatic weapons kicking in the front doors and telling everyone to get on the ground.

Is this a idea of Congress of Frderal Reserve being under fire. Madoff received 150 years for what he did. Now the Frederal Reserve for what they have done should reveive 1500 years.
