Border Agent Shoots Rock Thrower in Mexico, Officials Say

A U.S. Border Patrol agent apparently shot a suspected drug smuggler on the Mexican side of the border Wednesday night after rocks were thrown at agents, authorities said.

The Spanish-language network Telemundo reported that the suspect, who is a young Mexican national, died from his injuries after being shot on Mexican territory.

Border Patrol officials have not confirmed his death or extent of his injuries.
