British Motorcyclist Electronically Tagged for Dropping Mints

A motorcyclist has told how he was electronically tagged for four months and given a 36-hour community order – for dropping mint imperials while riding.
Thomas Payne, 19, must be at home from 8pm till 6am under the terms of his ankle tag after police spotted the trail of sweets left by his Yamaha DT175.

Payne insists: “They were just falling out of my pocket. Because of the time they followed me for they said I should have known.”
Payne was stopped in Birmingham on March 16. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Birmingham Magistrates Court on March 24. He was ordered to pay £50 costs.
He said: “For a 19-year-old being housebound every night is hell.”
He must also spend three hours every Saturday taking part in group activities including woodwork classes until his community order is completed. “I count myself lucky I’m still allowed to eat sweets,” he said.
West Midlands Police confirmed: “A man aged 19 was arrested on the March 16 in Lancaster Circus, Birmingham, on suspicion of endangering road users.
“He was charged on March 17 and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on March 24.”

Why is it that a lot of you feel that cursing makes your point stronger? It doesn’t. It makes me want to try that. It sounds to me that someone in the police has read Malcolm Gladwells book, The Tipping Point. Apartently zero tollerance means that you nip bad behavure in the bud. He maybe dropping sweets one day but protesting against the NWO in the future.
Now what he should have done is explain that he would not volentarily wear a tag. That even if they forced him to wear it that he would still go out. And that we would cut the tag off.
They know that they can’t force you to keep it on or to obey the curfew since they can’t stand outside your house 24 hours a day. They can lock you in prison but that’s not the same thing as forcing you to wear a tag. They can fine you but they can’t take your money from you.

The real problem with this story is that the guy plead guilty. If they were really just falling out of his pocket, he should have plead not guilty and fought the charges. The law’s not stupid, but the punishment is.
I think it’s a little overboard to put someone on house arrest for something like this, but I’d say the fine is justified. Sounds like if he was guilty, he was an inconsiderate prick.

Star Trek is very historical. I remember when they did that episode on Khan, the Soviet Super soldier with abnormal strength. Since the breakup of the Soviet union in the late 20th century we’ve had to round up all the super soldiers and put them on the planet Mars so they wouldn’t take over the world. I have a feeling though, that someday we’ll forget they are on Mars and visit the planet. I put a special section into my saddlebags with a zipper on the Bottom. This section was filled with BALL BEARINGS. One driver used to wait for me to go by and then follow me. On this occasion I opened the section and let the ball bearings drop! It took out his windshield and the RADIATOR! He overheated!
He seized up a $6000 engine trying to chase me down! He got busted for Dangerous Driving,as I testified in court about his speeding while chasing me!
My problem was due to bad publicity that we were getting, due to the Biker problem in Quebec with bombings etc! But mints? E-Gads!

All it does is breed hate, incite anger and reflect ingnorance on your part for not being able to find better words to use. You can just as easily make your point without all the F bombs and other related curses being dropped. If you are true followers of Alex – assuming you are since you are on his site – you know he gets angry but rarely drops curse words into his dialogue adn when soemone comes on the show and does that he removes them from the discussion.

To be a follower in itself, as this statement implies you consider yourself, most likely indicates one’s inability to lead even one’s self. This young man is a danger to society. Some child could pick up one of the mints, savor it, and end up with dental caries, tooth decay to you trolls. Or what if a toddler came upon a candy and choked on it. This has just got to one of the most ridiculous cases I have heard of in ages. What do these people think they are doing to just ordinary folk going about their daily business . Are they now going to arrest kids for letting loose a few sweets from their pockets ? may be ! . I thought this was a joke when i first read it .
I just cant believe that this man was arrested and tagged for this so called crime , what a waste of public money and shame on you police for doing this and wasting taxpayers money to stand this innocent person in the dock and to fine him .
