“We are not exactly impotent little babies,” said Brzezinski, national security adviser during the Carter administration, in an interview with The Daily Beast Web site when asked how aggressive President Obama can be in telling Israel that a military strike in Iran is not in America’s interest. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?
“We have to be serious about denying them that right,” continued Brzezinski, who endorsed Obama early in the Democratic primary but was not an official adviser to the campaign. “That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.”

I think it’s more about reminding the isrealis that they’re not the biggest pyschopath on the block and that any violence will be directed solely by the U.S. They will attack Iran but only when they’re ready, and this means either China or Russia commiting to defend Iran first. That’s what I don’t get. Zbig made it his mission to bring down the USSR. And yet the same day Obama said he’s pulling the Czech missile program, he strengthens ties between GE and the Kremlin. Why so friendly w/Russia. Zbig was so adamant about bringing down the USSR because it was the only country at the time that challenge USA’s superpower status. Now there’s China to think about. The US and Israel have a devil’s pact. It’s impossible to tell where one starts and the other ends. The only question on Iran is whether the US will play quasi-neutral cop while Israel is bad cop. In this case, everyone knows the US would still be indirectly doing the same deed in effect. Or if they are going to openly join Israel in attacking Iran. We know the media is preparing the grounds for an offensive.
