The posh and picturesque town that juts into San Francisco Bay is poised to do something unprecedented: use cameras to record the license plate number of every vehicle that crosses city limits.
Some residents describe the plan as a commonsense way to thwart thieves, most of whom come from out of town. Others see an electronic border gate and worry that the project will only reinforce Tiburon’s image of exclusivity and snootiness.
“I personally don’t see too much harm in it, because I have nothing to hide,” commodities broker Paul Lambert, 64, said after a trip to Boardwalk Market in downtown Tiburon on a recent afternoon.
“Yet,” he said, “it still has the taint of Big Brother.”

to all that say they have nothing to hide: Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But there will come a time in your life when you wont want the world to know something about you, and you’ll be found out because of that attitude that you’re better than everybody else. Just remember, nobody is perfect and we all slip, however innocently, and you will regret that holier than thou bullshit. Count your fucking days. I hope I’m there to watch. The taller they are, the harder they fall. Your arrogance will be your court room, and the jury will find you guilty.

It doesn’t even matter if he has something to hide or not. All he has to do is have an opinion that does not coincide with the mainstream way of thinking, and they can take him to Gitmo, or declare him mentally ill and put him in a nuthouse for the rest of his life.

“Why passports? Why immigration restrictions? … for what reason? Only to show the omnipotence of the state, the bureaucrat. Bureaucracy has come to stay, it has become the great and mighty ruler of the world. It has come to stay to whip human beings into discipline and make them numbers … the next stage will be the branding of registration numbers upon the back, so that no mistake can be made as to the true nationality of the insect … Expanding markets and making large profits are a religion. It’s the oldest religion perhaps, for it has the best-trained priests, and it has the most beautiful churches; yes, sir.” ~ B. Traven. Roaddog I dont always agree with what you say, but on this one I have to. This is the exact reason why I quit wearing poplos and nice pants. Why Ive quit going to every party, or getogether. I do believe now that the more we conform, and try to be apart of the crowd, are skeletons in the closet pile up. Be sure that your sins will find you out. That does not mean I want these assholes watching our every move through life.
Some people screw up in life. Sometimes this is how we learn , and become better people. This is life. the things I do is my life. If I cant learn when I do something wrong that God doesnt bless my sin , and that my sin or “carma”if you will, catches up to you. Then I have failed the test. To always be prodded , and taxed as I do right , and wrong. How as a people do we ever really know how to live.
This is not LBERTY; this is SLAVERY. I for one think this a much better world if there where no cammeras, Tv, computer, religion. That we instead carried a big stick, yet loved one another. Knowing that if we steal, cheat, murder, cause malice, that the guy next to us might just woop us. Now we go into the cage, and are prodded and poked. With taxes, and Ideas. We are incouraged to be immoral to appear normal. NOW THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE LIVE THEIR WAY. Welcome to 1985 bitches.

Well, without religion, we wouldn’t be here unless you think we came from some form of a amoeba or an ape; by the way, if we came from apes, why are there still apes living in the jungles? I have to agree with you on the rest of it though. Religion gives me some kind of hope for a better world. Actually, it’s believing in God that gives me hope.

I lived in Tiburon Ca as a child growing up, saw the moon landing at the school there when I was in second grade, It was a great little boat building community, used to ride my bick along the shore, sometimes take the ferry to Angle Island, fishing at Elephent rock, wonderfull memories growing up there. I went back many years later as an Adult only to discover Condiminiums EVERYWHERE, all the little shops where now high end art galleries and boutiques, The Article is right, Very SNOOTY, I was heart broken, but still nice to read about Tiburon.

we as patriots must surely understand that these “men”, the globalists or internationalists have ever so slowly pushed our republic towards a corporate run government…as in the banking, military industrial complex, oil industry, and many other corporate entity’s…our right’s have been stolen from us on our day of birth via the “birth certificate” and further subjugate us to indentured servitude through the social security act….privately controlled foreign banksters owning our freedom through the mother of all corporations ” The UNITED STATES of AMERICA”…..lies that put us under “policys” of this “corporate” entity. It’s all a word game, words having two different understood meanings…playing the most intelligent of us to thinking we really know shit…when in fact our world runs on lies…beyond our deceitful comprehension. Look into Admiralty Law….and Common Law…and learn some things that will really….ummm…let’s say will really upset you….god bless the republic…and all who defend the idea and concept of freedom…and a constitutional republic…as this concept is the reality of human progression, and cannot, and will not be stopped. While one can always find some’good’ that might come from using such systems as in the article, I think at the same time in this climate we are living in, where people (over 1 MILLION???) end up on a ‘no fly list’ simply because of their political and or religous beliefs, it is important to be constantly vigilant of the ever encroaching methods of The War on Privacy.
History has shown over and over that all sorts of people that had ‘nothing to hide’ were targeted by the MILLIONS for abuse and death simply because they were ‘in the way’ either physically or simply though their beliefs or faith.

A commodity broker still thinks, (like most other white-collars
and professionals) that the gov’t and police WORK FOR THEM.
Hence they believe because they are upper middle class the
system’s purpose is TO PROTECT THEM AND THEIR INTERESTS.
This group, the upper middle to lower “high class” earners and
business-owners, are perhaps the STUPIDEST individuals when
it comes to understanding anything about the New World Order,
BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY’RE “ELITES”, TOO.
In reality those people are the ones being LOOTED of their
portfolios, salaries and benefits. Just because they can cruise
under a license plate camera in their BMW they think they’re
privileged characters. WAKE UP, YUPPIES! Those cameras are
not just there for a poor working Mom in a beat up Toyota who
can’t afford to renew her license.
July 13th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
They have no business doing this. I call on Police Officers: refuse unconstitutional orders, observe your oath! Have some integrity! As for everyone else, raise hell! Boycott fascist and communist totalitarian corporations, especially the corporate media whores. Boycott towns like this.
I once moved into an apartment complex, a fairly fancy one, in which they had the cops there every day cataloging every license plate in the parking lot. I asked the arpartment corporation to be reasonable and they refused. I then took advantage of their promise to let anyone who was not happy with the complex during the first month move out without any strings. They said that I was the first one to ever do that. I am proud that I did so. Move out of fascist and communist totalitarian towns and cites. Let them become ghost towns. They are already run by ghouls.

That’s the typical moron mind-fuck response like he hasn’t read the constitution before while subconsciously making you think you should have nothing to hide and to let them authoritarian figure fucks ransack your privacy and right to a trial before convicted by a camera. Thank God for “spray your plate” which reflects the camera flash back to the lens making the exposure over exposed. Diamond plate also reflects well around the license plate………oh and tinfoil crumpled up around the edges works to…now we will have a bunch of tin foil plate wearing drivers and then add a cell phone to the mix and we have a real mess on the road.

I live in cali and I just dont put on my license plates. i have been pulled over for it 2 times in one year. Ohh nooos a 20 dollar fix it ticket. The way i look at it, Im keeping those pigs from harassing other people cuz it takes almost a half hour to run a vin number. I dont even speak to the gestapo anymore……I roll down the window a crack and present my papers. Sure they ask questions but you do NOT have to answer. I just shrug my shoulders and stare at them. then they realize that im not gonna say shit and go run my info. All they do is “solicit” information and you are not obligated to comply. My next step is to keep a small netbook in the car at all times with a high def webcam so i can record every time they harass me. Oh, and in Poway california, on EVERY traffic light there are cameras, not normal cameras, high tech ones. and they are NOT red light cameras. I am pretty sure they are biometric / license plate cams. Anyone else notice on random street lights there is a grey box with an antenna that points down? it has nothing to do with the light thats for sure. I guess it may be some kind of audio surveillance device….they are all over residential neighborhoods. FUCK big brother.

California “MAY” install license plate cameras? HA HA. This is nothing new. In my town, they are all over the place. At first I thought it was a traffic control device mounted above the traffic signal. Then I realized what they are for real. I even saw a mobile unit the other day mounted on the roof of a squad car. This is the first one I have actually seen on a cop car… not mounted on the front bumper. All kinds of impressive gadgets and antennas all over this contraption. I do know they have been in use in Rancho Cuca. P.D. for quite sometime. They are all proud of it. A big newspaper article on the first installation a few years ago. The main intersection of my apt. complex has those nice little signal mounted cameras. I like to smile pretty for it while I pick my nose for the camera. Just to change it up a little when I am not giving it “the bird”.
July 15th, 2009 at 5:36 am
If they take a picture of your license plate, you could be setup and accused of a crime you did not commit. “Hey, we have your plate at the scene of the crime!” How would you fight that!”
Remember, Photoshop can alter and add to ANY picture ANYTHING incriminating! So, you have a LOT TO WORRY ABOUT.
What do these idiots think in California? Now that the criminals know about the cameras, do they think they won’t find a way to steal a car to get inside the city? Duh! They could also switch license plates. Duh! Duh!
This whole situation is a setup to track you and me….PERIOD.
Smile for the cameras everyone…..
