Not quite, but California moved a step closer last month to pay-as-you-drive policies that could allow motorists to buy insurance like they do gasoline — a little at a time.
Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner released regulations permitting and authorizing mileage verification for pay-as-you-drive, without dictating what form such plans must take.
The goal is to use per-mile pricing to entice Californians not to drive so much, thus easing air pollution, relieving traffic congestion and lowering the number of traffic collisions.

if the enviornment was the real concern a 4 day 10 hour week would be mandated, public transit would be improved and stop lights would have better timing. simple.

Utah did the 4 day work week with most government jobs, and I guess it really cut down on cost of fuel and other costs.

AMAZING! …these globalists are the biggest control freaks; this has absolutely nothing to do with the environment.
It’s just an excuse to put Qualcomm tracking devices in all vehicles like they already do for commercial trucking.

as a commercial class A driver, i will say this. If the general public had any idea how much info is known about the trucks on the road beside them they would never allow it to be installed on their personal vehicle, the qual-com system that is on my truck tracks me with hourly updates while driving as well as updates when the air brakes are set and released, as well as excessive speed or sudden drop in speed they have the ability to view my truck live in real time via Satellite if they need to (for an additional fee) and have been told they can turn the truck off by actually bringing the RPMs down and slowing the truck to a safe speed before shuting down all power …But the public will only be told about positive aspects of such technology without understanding the abusive potential…

Out of the handful of people that get onto sites like this that actually seek the truth need to exploit sites like yahoo.com with their POPULAR SEARCHES feature. Type in phrases like NWO, DEATH OF THE DOLLAR, COPENHAGEN, and the like and see if it gets on the listed feature. Lead them to the door and let THEM open it…..

It seems that all businesses that run lights 24/7 could put in motion sensors. Then the lights would only be on when someone or an animal came along. I imagine this would reduce energy usage incredibly.

What liars. This isn’t even about the environment or public safety. What’s really going on here is that Cali politicians want drivers to cut back on driving because they simply cannot afford to maintain the highways and the rest of the state’s infrastructure because crooked politicians have pissed away all necessary funding on political pet projects.

The sensors are in the pavement. If you look closely to the road you are driving on, you will see octogon carved into the road with a grouping of wires off to the side of the road, that is the sensor, they are every .8 miles. Then you see the new concrete bunkers under overpases and such. Those NEVER used to be there, they started building them about 4 – 5 years ago. After they put the octogons in the road they will pave over the road and they’ll be gone, so be on the look out for them, you can still see the wires to the side of the road, they don’t pave over those, and those wires group up and lead to those concrete AIR CONDITIONED bunkers under the overpasses

Right. The entire climate change bill is based on junk ’science’. It is a tax and nothing more. When you consider that humans have little more than 120 years of climate data to work with, it is preposterous to assume that any changes we happen to observe in our environment are human caused. There are 5+ billion human mouths breathing out CO2 with every breath – forgeting the animal kingdom’s population for a moment. I would confidently argue that 5 billion people and all of the active volcanos spew out FAR more CO2 than any man-made factories worldwide. What the NWO’s climatologists are ignoring is that the Earth precesses on its axis every 25,000 years or so – bringing about ice ages etc. Just like a spinning top or gyroscope on a table the top does not perfectly spion on its axis. The junk scientists were hired and paid to come up with convincing but ridulous theories based on fear. A tax is what will result – benefiting only those that pulled this scam in the first place.

Buy a clunker, drive til they take it away. All the money you save with no car payment or insurance payment will allow you to go get another one when they do! Take the bus, walk, ride your bike. If you use the system they force on you than YOU are a part of the problem. Just refuse to be a part of ANY of it! Grow your own food, solar panel generators, work close to home(you dont need as much $$ if you are out of their system!) Have bills? Pay them with money orders, screw the banks! No plastic cards for me! Work with your hands, make what you need!
This is the only way we will make any ground against the New World Order! If you are using the New World Order System you are in FACT a part of the New World Order by helping their agenda
WAKE UP!!

November 3rd, 2009 at 1:40 pm
GPS LIVE TRACKING SYSTEM on every vehicle. If you go into a “BAD” neighborhood your PREPAID insurance account will be charged more, moving up your plan’s deposit date or positive balance; same as with speeding, turning to sharp & fast, running stop signs & lights, all monitored 24/7/365.

You hit the nail on the head there. But allow me to take this just a step further. If Cali has a 14% unemployment level, then the insurance cos. aren’t collecting as much. Kind of a double edged sword there, but it favors those who can’t find a job and just sit on their asses sucking the govt tit. If this ever becomes law, the little man will get over so don’t expect that to happen.
November 3rd, 2009 at 1:43 pm
I don’t see how this is a Government “Conspiracy”.
This is the private industry you fools!!! They are allowing a free market to flourish, if you don’t want it, go to another insurer…DUH!!!
You people and AJ are FREAKS!!!

Calling names will win no points here…
Fact…insurance is mandated by State Law…this is hardly “a free market”…and those Insurance Companies are regulated by the State…they do not get their “Insurance License” unless they do what the State wants…
A truly free State would not require every driver have insurance…let me decide if I want it or need it…
I personally have had no accident in over 20 yrs and I pay $800+ a year for something that the Gov’t demands…and my car is 17 yrs old!
20 x $800 = $16,000…and NYS is planning on raising the “minimums” again!
How has the transfer of my personal wealth to semi-private institutions helped me?
Oh, that’s right…I have had no extra money to buy a house or even a new car…I’ve been unemployed for over a year and on the brink of bankruptcy…
Please be careful what you claim is “free market”…we don’t have anything close!
Gerri Reply:

It appears that my last post didn’t go through…
Let me repeat this…
Car Insurance is mandated by State Laws and regulated by the State… Insurance Companies do nothing without the approval or permission of the State.
I personally pay $800 a year on a 17 yr old Car and have had no accident in the last 20 yrs…
That’s $16,000 taken from me and transferred to semi-private institutions…
How has this theft of my personal wealth helped me? Oh, that’s right I drive a 17 yr old car, have no money to buy a home and have been unemployed for the last year…top it all off…I’m on the verge of bankruptcy to stop the payments on my Credit Cards…that if I didn’t have I would have been homeless a year ago!
Please be careful what you claim is ” a free market”…because we don’t have anything close!

You claimed in your original post that we had a “choice” not to buy insurance that charged “by the mile”…”it’s called a free market”…
I pointed out that insurance isn’t a choice and costs each one of us thousands of dollars and is not “free markets”…
Then you accused me of being “boring” “and contradicting myself”…
You really are delusional…
While I’ll admit that you can do whatever you like but coming here and then attacking everyone gets you what? If you don’t like what’s being said…you can chose to go somewhere else…why waste your time and ours?

Somehow you got the wrong idea of this site. A “conspiracy” is something that hasn’t been proved. Why do people call Alex a conspiracy theorist? doesn’t make any sense, when he’s telling you what it says from the actual documents.
Taken from the article:
“Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner released regulations permitting and authorizing mileage verification for pay-as-you-drive, without dictating what form such plans must take.”
There is no conspiracy about that either. The asshole commissioner realeased regulations….done, ka-put!

This will effect a lot of people in how they do their work. The truckers may have been forced to install tracking devices in their vehicles. But its going to get awful noisey when they try to put it into every vehicle. This could be the issue that wakes up a majority.
