U.S. military officials said the kidnapped captain of the U.S. container ship seized by Somali pirates has been rescued, according to a statement by the shipping company.

The heavily armed pirates took control of the 17,000-ton relief cargo vessel Maersk Alabama Wednesday.
Phillips offered himself as a hostage to save his 19-man crew, and had been drifting in a lifeboat near northeastern Somalia. The vessel pulled into port in Mombasa, Kenya on Saturday evening.

1. Because it’s INTERNATIONAL waters and ANYONE can sail there thanks to the US Navy constantly proving the point.
2. Yes, the Marines can shoot there but they didn’t, the Navy Seals did. But technically anybody is allowed to shoot pirates because they are, pirates.

The only reason the pirates weren’t afraid is they attacked unarmed ships and up to now non-American ships. Well guess what? A bunch of unarmed Americans kicked their armed asses and threw them off the ship! Then our seals executed three of the kidnappers. I’m very disappointed one was allowed to surrender after wetting his pants. Seems someone missed a shot, that needs looked into.
From this day forward the pirates are going to need a lot more than a bass boat and small arms and they’re going to enjoy very high casualties and limited success.

I can’t believe how foolish people are to believe any of this. These pirate’s scaled to the top of this ship with ropes and hooks with weapons on their backs while a crew of twenty men watched. Then they took the ship, then the crew fought back and took one of the pirates who apparently couldn’t find the trigger on his weapon. Then the hero captain gives himself up as a hostage in trade but the pirates don’t trade fair and they keep the captain. The second in command just happens to be the son of the man who runs security for that company. Then of course the seals come in and snipe the bad guys saving the hero captain. What a load of s–t!!!!!! WAKE UP!! This is all theater so America can get boots on the ground in Africa. Even people on this site are buying this scripted HOLLYWOOD flimsy lie. I am still out with the jury on the Maersk Alabama incident. What we have as fact is that the US Navy shot and killed 3 teenagers from 75 feet or so. Why only three? Or why not just the one that had a gun on Phillips? Had Somalian “pirates” killed anyone to date? These kids were out of gas (literally) and knew they had no options. My guess is that the would have let the captain go for a hundred bucks and a police escort back to their homes. Why don’t these merchant ships hire their own private security?
People need to treat the cause and not over react to the symptoms. The mass media is embellishing the story as if it were a make my day movie with Clint Eastwood. The reality is that it is a continuing tragedy which needs open and honest evaluation by thinking people to avoid making the situation fertile ground for actual terrorists to get their feet in the door.

U.S. Navy a liar — Three pirates executed in cold blood
Look at the facts:
(1) Tribal leaders in Somalia proposed that both captain and pirates be released without a ransom, the pirates were in agreement but the Navy refused to let the pirates go.
(2) Navy knew that the enclosed metal boat was a torture chamber in the hot sun and rough sea, and that after five days of this the pirates were very passive and most eager to any agreement that would gain them freedom.
(3) The Navy lied when it said that they decided to shoot when the pirates started to point a gun at the captain, as the pirates for five days most of the time had at least one gun pointed at the captain.
(4) With the boat bobbing up and down, only if NONE of the pirates were pointing a gun at the captain would the Navy had dared to shoot. And only if they could somehow fool the pirates into setting down their guns, only then would it be perfectly safe to execute them in cold blood.
Now, even if western media refuses to state the facts, news media throughout the Southern Hemisphere is stating all the facts, and asking many damaging questions. Another example of Obama mania, which in many is just as insane as that of the maniac dictator from Texas.
