CFR-Associate: Plan for World Government Stalled

The choir warming to the idea of a one world government was joined recently by CFR-member and presidential professor of political science, Thomas G. Weiss. In his presidential address at the 50th convention of the International Studies Association in mid February of this year, Weiss argued for world government and a world currency out of the current economic crisis. At the same time he discerns an increasing resistance on the part of the people to accept such a world government in any way, shape, or form.

In his speech titled “What Happened to the Idea of World Government”, Weiss outright rejects the idea of national sovereignty in favour of “overarching central authority” to set things straight. He then goes on to lament recent developments in the United States, where it has become less fashionable to speak of world government: a clear sign that the people are gradually beginning to develop an allergy for the new world order and its most vehement proponents:
“Once a staple of informed debate on international affairs- and as hard as it is to believe, especially in the United States- “world government” is a term no longer used in polite company, unless as my Graduate Center colleague Rob Jenkins states, “it is to dismiss those who advocate the idea as hopelessly naïve, or to demonize those suspected of secretly plotting the creation of a global leviathan.”
“My purpose this evening”, Weiss continues, “is to trace what happened to the idea of a world government and its replacement by “global governance” as well as the pluses and minuses of that development.”
The rest of his speech is occupied mainly by ideas long promoted by transnational elites: the UN is flawed in its current form and needs to be transformed into a monolithic giant with governing powers given by the member-states to break the spell of inaction. Nation-states will gradually be stripped from their sovereignty as they are morphed into this larger system, answering only to a global central authority. Glumly shaking his head, Weiss comments:
“When interdependence was less and actors were fewer and states could actually solve or attenuate most international problems, the idea of a world government was not far from the mainstream. Paradoxically, now when states visibly cannot address a growing number of threats from WMDs to climate change, from terrorism to the current financial crisis, world government is unimaginable.”
Here Weiss brings us good tidings from his transnational headquarters. He acknowledges that the journey towards world government is not going as well as planned, and the sleeping giant is unmistakably showing signs of wakening from his unperturbed slumber.
“The late Harold Jacobson’s 1984 Networks of Interdependence commented that the march toward a world government was woven into in the tapestries decorating the walls of the Palais des Nations in Geneva- now the UN’s European Office but once the headquarters of the League of Nations. Jake observed that they “picture the process of humanity combining into ever larger and more stable units for the purpose of governance- first the family, then the tribe, then the city-state, then the nation- a process which presumably would eventually culminate in the entire world being combined in one political unit.”
This concept of evolution from the small to the great to which man is supposed to be predestined is in fact a fallacy. It is the reasoning of tyrants, eager to convince an unsuspecting audience. History teaches us that expanding empires either crumble under their own weight, allowing smaller sovereign states to rise from its ruins; or they overstretch- in which case they are overrun by tribal communities demanding the tyrant’s head on a plate. Either way, the evolution of power is a continuous rollercoaster ride through history; it expands and shrinks like the tides upon the seashore. Weiss again buries his head in his hands in a theatrical gesture:

“Imagine a United States in which a serious conversation about the process depicted in that tapestry were possible. Could there really once have been a sizable group of prominent Americans from every walk of life, including politicians who passed resolutions in 30 of 48 state legislatures, who supported pooling American sovereignty with that of other countries?”
Weiss points to prominent idealists of the late 1940s en early 50s, who also desired a world government and advocated it with all means available to them:
“(…) prominent individuals associated with the world government idea included, at one time or another, Kurt Vonnegut, Walter Cronkite, H.G. Wells, Peter Ustinov, Supreme Court Justices William Douglas and Owen Roberts, Senator Estes Kefauver and Senator and future Vice-President Hubert Humphrey. And the list goes on.”
In all his musings about the inability of the UN to fulfil its original mission, namely to bring world government into being, the concept of freedom versus tyranny does not enter his mind for a second. Instead he continues hammering on the necessity of global government lest the world starve by the lack of it.
“Is it really so far-fetched to imagine the global advance of inter-governmental economic agreements along the lines that Europe has nurtured since the Second World War, including a global currency?”
The professor breaths a sigh of despair.
“It is unsettling to recall how feeble our academic expectations have become in comparison with earlier generations of analysts who did not shy away from elements of world government and robust intergovernmental organizations. At Bretton Woods, for example, John Maynard Keynes proposed a monetary fund with resources equivalent to 50% of world imports.”
In light of the unprecedented recent power grab by the Federal Reserve, pumping wealth into the very lifeblood of the new world order, Weiss’ attempt at describing world government as an oxygen starved entity, is somewhat premature. But he does have a point: as the general support of Ron Paul’s HR 1207 indicates, even the lemming like congress now has mustered enough support for the bill to move ahead to the Senate, not daring to ignore its constituents. The reason that advocacy for world government has now changed from an outright roar to a passing whisper, is nevertheless encouraging. For now the agenda has hit a snag and every move they make is under scrutiny by an increasingly critical public, watching them intently.
In conclusion of his long, wailing lament, Weiss places his hope in the Obama administration to realise the dream of the world’s central bankers and their mission of old:
“We need a big international vision from the Obama administration. (…) The new president excels in political imagination and his ability to address the need for meaningful change. He should draw on his considerable communications skills to help overcome what can only be described as the appalling public ignorance, including among members of Congress, about why the UN agglomeration works the way that it does.”
The “appalling public ignorance” Weiss is describing is actually a sign that the tide of tyranny is turning in favour of sovereignty worldwide. But with this comes a threat, one so terrifying that it defies understanding. Now that the push for a global feudal system seems to be stalling to the point of paralysis, the danger of a false flag attack or otherwise unprecedented crisis looms ominously on the horizon. Weiss:
“Will it take a calamity on the scale of World War Two to demonstrate the abject poverty of our current thinking?” Weiss asks threateningly. “Is such a disaster required to catalyze a transformation of the current feeble system of what many of us now call “global governance”- the patchwork of formal and informal arrangements among states, international agencies, and public-private partnerships- into something with at least some of the attributes of a world government?”

This is some the worst bulls--- I’ve read in quite awhile (not really, it seems to be never ending, coming from both sides with equal fervor, all designed to give us false hope) and it only proves the dishonesty of both sides. We trade in one tyrannical belief system for another, all the while remaining slaves of the beast system.

Personally, I get down at times – it’s all quite overwhelming. The NWO takeover may be inevitable but it is not over until it is over. I do not wish to live in a freaking “gobal feudal system.” God or no god, I am not going down as a sheep.

If it bothers you then ignore my posts and go on with your life. I don’t want to live in a police state either but guess what? It’s pretty much unavoidable at this point. We’ve allowed them to build up there perfect little machine without so much as a whimper and it’s going to come back to haunt us.

Freedom is state of mind, as is being a slave. The venom you spew is typical of your intolerant christian creed. I would rather die free than live a slave. Just because you have been programmed with the meekness of your desert god doesn’t mean that there is not glory in victory over those who would oppress us. There are many thing I would rather do then die in battle and I do not know until it happens how I will react in the face of their wrath, none of us do, but I am doing my best to mentally prepare myself for the probable eventuality that I will have to make a violent stand, and that it will probably cost me my life.
This petty bickering is getting us nowhere. I suggest instead of prattling on like an old hag at people why don’t you actually try and offer some support or doing something constructive. I grow weary of this realm (website) most here are are blind bible thumpers, negative defeatists, and keyboard tough guys content berate people all day but unwilling to do anything else, some fit all categories. Although there are some real heroes here too no doubt and to you great men who are too far and few between I salute you brave warriors.

You’re real big on talking about freedom and liberty but you don’t even realize what brought it about. Ever heard of the reformation? Key board tough guys? Are you describing yourself? It interesting that everything you mentioned that is bothering you, you yourself have done. Tolerance is yet another NWO deception, just like civil rights and human rights. They love to sound honorable and don’t have a problem throwing a few crumbs to the slaves, especially when 99% of the people are unaware of the truth. If you want tolerance go to France. If you want tolerance then you want what the New World Order wants, they love tolerance, it gives them the space they need to corrupt and twist the minds of men.
I will agree that arguments of this type are pointless. I still had to get a few jabs in though, I’m only human you know?
To some degree you’re right, freedom is a state of mind. But the other side of the coin is just as important. We’re not free when thousands of thugs are ready at any given time to kick in our doors because they consider something a crime that we consider a natural (God-given for me) right. We’re only as free we want to be. Is freedom dying for freedom? To make a decision that you know will lead to your death and take responsibility for that action, making the choice to pay the price? It may be freedom to some extent but it’s a hollow freedom. No one should have to die to defend a gift that has been freely given to everyone, yet this is the world we live in.
People who’ve lived in poverty their whole life are most likely more free then we are because they have the ability to escape this physical world by being happy while surrounded by filth and death. Or is it just a couping mechanism? An Indian sage said that reality is illusion and illusion is reality. In a weird way it sums up this life rather concisely. Nothing we feel or see that surrounds us is very real and yet at the same time it is more real then we are to ourselves. We have endless entertainments that never fulfill and our heads have been filled with, as a friend of mine said, unreality or false experience which we’ve fed off of all our lives.
The machine has damaged our very consciousness and our very molecular structure. They despise the natural beauty of the world, or rather they despise our ability to enjoy it in spite of their efforts to control every aspect of our lives. I’m not a defeatist by any means but I am looking at things differently nowadays. Governments fall, new one take their place and life goes on but the vast majority are still unchanged on the very basic human level. Most people are satisfied watching television their whole lives and never leaving the comfort what is familiar to them. While a life like that seems to me a waste to them it is pure heaven, bliss, whether in ignorance or not.
But in my opinion and through mounds of credible evidence we are not here to sink into the recesses of the normal or average. The battle taking place right now has always been raging on but it won’t go on forever. The end is in sight. Even your own beliefs concur with this statement to some degree. All of the worlds cultures intuitively understand this basic truth. Just like all of us know there is something after this physical reality (what we perceive as being physical) we all know there will be an end to what we call reality or the world. I found my truth in Yahushua Messiah (Jesus Christ) and I strongly believe he truly is the only gate that leads to ultimate salvation. But if you don’t that is your business. Jesus said that he had other sheep in other sheep pens and I find that interesting. At the right time these people will see and except Him as the truth and you very well could be one of those people just as I could be one of the people who healed in His name yet never knew Him.
The first will be last and the last will be first. Take it easy brother.

It was never my intention to be a “keyboard tough guy” I was only voicing my opposition against what seemed wrong to me. “we are not here to sink into the recesses of the normal or average” I could not agree with you more, man has to potential for such greatness it is sad to see it wasted so.
As far as tolerance, when I speak of it I do not refer to the NWO version, (I do see how they want everyone to be completely homogeneous with out any distinction between culture, gender, age or race) what I mean is simply allow people to live as they wish without persecution, so long as they hurt harm none. I will admit I can be a little hard on Christians, Christianity itself has a colored history at best, and it seems so many expect their god to fix everything without any effort on their part. We are going to need all types in this struggle, from your last post I can tell you are a thoughtful man. None of us are perfect, and I wish you all fortune in this conflict we all share. Perhaps it will take the collective might of all our gods to see humanity through this dark time. As for myself I will move on and do what I must to find my path, and my place in this struggle, may your God be with you.

The best time for them to hit us is during a bunch of large riots. All they have to do is take down all communications, via tv, phone, radio. Then people on one side of the city won’t know what is happening on the other side. It will be done in stealth. Plus they will come in with armored plated humvee’s and tanks with 50 caliber mounted, and people will do what shoot at them with their .380’s , 40 or 45’s , or worse yet shootguns? The army took over Iraq with ease, and they had military grad weapons. The best thing to do is PRAY, only God can help us now.

Firstly, only God can say whether Alex is a Christian or not, but thats not the issue here is it?! The issue is that Weiss is making statements scarily similar to Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfeld before 9/11 when they stated that we needed a Pearl Harbor-like catastrophe in order to justify such an increase in military funding as they were planning… Secondly, as for the resistance movement, I believe it is out there, but I refuse to be part of such a futile effort. Our job is not to violently resist these elites, it is to expose them to the public for the liars they are, and if the public refuses to listen then Ben Franklin was right.. They deserve neither freedom or security and we are all doomed.. For we need the country as a whole to stand with us, but the majority believes everything Big Brother tells them. If minds cannot be turned, resistance will solve nothing. Christ said to love our enemies as ourselves, and not to resist evil people, so since we are all to die soon anyways.. I would rather die with an NWO gun to my head praying to my Creator saying.. “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”…

I gave my opinion about Alex based on his actions, my opinion, no YHWY’s, but you’re right, only He knows. The people most likely (90%) won’t wake up if history has anything to teach us. Personally I won’t allow them to kill me unless we are in the tribulation full swing. And without a worldwide earth quake and two celestial bodies smashing into this planet first, I’ll fight to survive. I’d rather not hurt one hair on another human beings head but if it comes down to my family or some minion working for evil, evil is going to have to work in order to take my life. On the other hand, if the tribulation has started I’ll follow Steven’s example if YHWY decides to give me such strength.

As for the resistance movement, of course we should try to spread the word, but as to violent resistance, our founding fathers would’ve disagreed with you. Peaceful resistance is always desirable but I’m not going to pray while their trying to forcefully vaccinate me. If it wasn’t for the blood spilled on this land by revolutionaries you’d be eating eel, pie and mash.
As for the bible, you can interpret it any way you choose; if you believe in violent resistance there’s plenty in there to support that – the same for peaceful resistance. Just use your frigging brain. I’m not arrogant to claim to speak for god.

No, sorry. People choose to interpret the bible but it is as plain as the second amendment is plain. People love to justify their bad behavior by twisting and manipulating the scriptures. Nope, Jesus was very clear as to the way we are to carry ourselves, no violence. At least be honest and say it like you mean it. If you’re going to fight back then you’ll be following the world not Yahushua Messiah.
You just don’t have any conviction or honesty. And again, their is no resistance movement. This isn’t Terminator 4. If you call an overweight guy making money off of videos a resistance then I guess you’re right. Cough…Not. Alex Jones, if not for an audience, would be the first guy to run away and hide when the camera eye was pointed somewhere else. First, I could care less what a 2000 year old book says that advocates slavery, genocide and treating women like chattel.
Second, there are thousands of Christian denominations – of course you have the correct interpretation oh humble one.
Third, as I’ve said before, if the bible is the one true word of god, shouldn’t it be clear? Shouldn’t it be so obvious that no one can misinterpret it? Then again, the advocacy of slavery was quite clear to the many good Christians in 19th century America. If you believe that the bible is the literal, inerrant word of god, why don’t you believe in slavery?
Fourth, who the hell are you to say I have no honesty or conviction? Why, because I don’t believe the horses--- that you believe?
Fifth, re: a resistance movement, as I stated, our founding fathers would’ve considered you a wimp and not deserving of freedom.
Finally, as for Alex, he’s not perfect, I don’t agree with all of his views but at least he is trying to fight tyranny, unlike yourself. Of course he has to make a living. I very much doubt he’s living high on the hog.
I could say alot more but it would be a waste of time. Don’t call me out on the religious thing either because number one, it’s off topic, and number two, believe me, you will lose. That’s not arrogance, just experience.

Anyone can misinterpret anything Mr. Babel.. And if you took the time to READ the bible you would see it does not contradict itself, for example: the killing done in the old testament was under the OLD covenant and when Christ ushered in the NEW covenant he told us not resist evil men. They will have their way in the end anyway, because they do not play by the rules. And btw, Christ will never lose! And you will realize it eventually, in this life or the next… I just pray it’s not the next, because by then it will be too late for you.

If one pays attention to who actually authored the article, one can come to the conclusion that the author himself titled the article, not Alex Jones.
One may also quickly conclude that Alex Jones is merely posting the article ‘as is’ for your enlightenment, and has no hidden agenda to either keep you in fear or keep you on the hook, or whatever other bulls--- falls out of stupid peoples mouths.

World governement isnt that bad of a concept if it is limited government with a consitution like our here in the U.S. One that is actually followed and has checks and balances. Liberty and freedom the core prinicples.

Something that struck me.
The Globalists are always preoccupied with the US and the “nationalist sentiment” here, whether it is Weiss or Rockefeller when he claimed that the “US is the biggest stumbling block” to a NWO.
However, I wonder if the globalist plan to build up and integrate China and India is backfiring. They are extremely nationalistic (much more than the US) an they are truly on “Super Power” path.
I think it will be interesting to see if China and India stop the NWO plans in their tracks. They are already the two MAIN opponents of a Global Carbon tax, even as the US House approved of such a system.

Fortunately there is a new awareness in the general public of the who’s who of this global takeover crowd and of the historical tactics they have used … i.e. false flag. A conveniently timed “disaster” or “conflagration” (as Weiss suggests) would easily be seen for what it is … and WHO was behind it. If anyone should be “very afraid” it is those who would orchestrate such a false flag effort. There is more spirit in the people than they are given credit for and I believe the reaction of the people would lead to a lot of very self-important globalists finding their heads mounted on pikes in public squares. It is THEY who need to be afraid … very afraid … the trail of breadcrumbs consistently leads back to the same names and faces … they’ll be the first to go.
