The Venezuelan president said on state television that he had eluded an assassination attempt in El Salvador where he was due to attend the swearing in of its new leader, a Left-wing ally.

The plot was revealed by Mr Chavez’s friend and ally, the Sandinista revolutionary President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua.
El Salvador’s security minister, Manuel Melgar, said that were “strange movements” and that the visit of the Venezuelan president could not be given “full security”.
According to Mr Chavez, the Cuban plane that he and President Evo Morales of Bolivia were to travel on was going to be shot down by a rocket as it approached San Salvador airport.

My girlfriend is from Venezuela and I know many of her friends… they are all HERE in the US because they were free before Chavez but since he came to power they see no future for their families there. They love their country and did not want to leave. Chavez has nationalized every industry he can and he’s not done by a long shot. Chavez was abducted, taken to an off-shore island while these “Junta hacks” settled into the the stirrups of of power. The people descended on the palace where this vermin were, and within 48 hrs. Chavez was returned, these idiots were arrested and the rest is history. There is a remarkable documentary on this event, but I don’t remember the title.
That event was another CIA -backed incident. Whenever the CIA gets involved, things become more radical, as what has happened to Chavez. Still, I respect him and his ideals if he doesn’t go to extreme. This is what happened to Cuba and Castro. They probably would have become more moderate, if accepted, but instead, were forced to more extreme dogma. Don’t forget – Chavez offered cheaper fuel to the U.S. a few years ago, during a cold winter, as a show of his respect for the American people – not the CIA-ridden gov’t that has controlled things since Reagan-Bush, and before. Nothing has changed, CIA and the Monroe Doctrine are still in effect. Wonder why America is hated everywhere? Read/study history. Give up the hypno-box – free you mind!

The threat/coercion that you will rot in hell if you do not believe is a form of mind control. One is required to police one’s own thoughts. How effective is that? You cannot have any doubt, or you might go to hell! Using fear to control people is what’s going on today with this New World Order. It would be against my individual ethics to endorse it in a religion.
Well, I do not believe IN him, although I believe he probably existed as a person. I do not believe he was the “Son of God”. There is a theory that he was the son of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, which I find the most convincing out of anything I’ve learned about Jesus’ origins. Characters in the Bible match up fairly closely with certain Egyptian pharoahs. There is also some evidence that Jesus spent time in India with the Buddhists. This theory says that he was able to survive the crucifixion through his medidation abilities learned in India, and that is how the myth of the resurrection began. He was like what we call a guru today. I first heard of this theory in a documentary called the Ring of Power, for anyone interested in knowing more.
Myself, I guess I’m what could be called an existentialist. In my heart I do not feel some 2000 year old man, but the beauty of nature, and the vast beauty of the universe, and the insatiable curiousity that I experience when I gaze into its depths. I feel a larger connection with everything.

For your information, Japan had already stated their willingness to surrender, as long as America would allow them to keep their Emperor. The religious institutions and the power structures behind them may be corrupt but the ideas and the books themselves if you cared to read them are filled with wisdom that really do have the power to change your life… Forget the church. Just read the books yourself and make up your own mind. I’d suggest the Dhammapada, the Tao te Ching, Bhagavad Gita or the Sermon on the Mount. You don’t need to go to church just go to the book store and figure it out on your own. Whenever I’m having problems in my life or feeling depressed or frightened I just sit and meditate. Don’t trust what your pastor says. The answer is inside you.

I agree that people stuck inside religions (which are completely at odds with what Jesus Christ taught) have been brainwashed but you’re throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Those 2000 year old texts have been scrutinized for over 20 centuries. Atheists have spent the last 200 years trying to disprove and debunk them and they have met with failure time after time.
Do you realize that those 2000 year old texts are the most trustworthy documents in all of antiquity? I’m serious, this isn’t my personal opinion it is widely known fact throughout all of academia. There is more proof that Jesus Christ lived then there is of Alexander the Great living, not to mention countless other historical figures. We have scores of independent historians (non-believers) in ancient times who mention Jesus Christ as a historical figure, not to mention the scores of archaeological discovers proving the veracity of the Scriptures, both Old & New Testaments.
Research these things for yourself instead of believing a bunch of liars purposely deceiving you with Theosophical philosophies. I already know what you will say when you respond, if you respond.

Taking over a company/firing CEO – Well, the US is the main shareholder now. It was not like he forced the company into nationalization, or simply took over. I believe the government bought out the company, mainly because they had the financial clout to keep it afloat, and not just let it die. Generally speaking, there is nothing to prevent such actions, and it is perfectly justifiable.
Stealing the retirement fund – The USD is a fiat currency, so again, nothing wrong with this. The value in the retirement fund is basically worth nothing, and entirely dependant upon the demand and supply of USD as a financial lubricant. Anyways, America has been keeping their mint busy for ages now. No harm in printing more.
Screwing the bond holders – When investing in securities, you are in effect placing a bet on a certain market direction. Bond holders have been betting that either the US economy would take off further and never falter, or that quantitative easing would never come into play. Well, they were wrong, so there has to be consequences. The thing is that it is always a zero-sum game, and that the media has never sensationalized the people on the other side of the transaction, that have gained as a result of such actions. This has essentially vilified the entire nature of quantitative easing, which in theory is supposed to help the economy rebound.
Selling it off to Brazil, China and Russia – Can’t blame the government for this. Honestly speaking, nobody in the world, especially not the chinese, really do want to buy treasuries. I would say that both nations, US and China, has been forced to do so, as the alternative would be a catastrophic devaluation of the USD. My good fellow, if America has’nt been touting her treasuries out for sale like some harlot, I think that you can prepare to downgrade your lifestyle, as you face sky-rocketing inflation. Not sure if you would understand the reference, but America would face the same fate as Iceland last year.
Hopefully, I have highlighted how the actions that you have described are’nt really all that bad. If not, please do let me know, and I would be glad to further clarify, provided I can find the time. It is also possible that you might disagree fundamentally upon the concept of government intervention and the free markets theory. In which case, if you would like a discussion on economics, then please first state whether you are of classical or keynesian or austrian mind, and then we can perhaps go on about the merits of government intervention.
