CIA To Monitor Internet Chatter For Anti-Government Sentiment

In the 2005 movie V For Vendetta, a film about a totalitarian society ruled by a fascist government with an iron surveillance fist, there’s a scene where state spooks drive down a residential street with a gadget that records the conversations people are having inside their homes and gives them a rating on how antagonistic towards the authorities they are.
A frighteningly similar scenario is now on the horizon with the news that the CIA’s investment arm In-Q-Tel is putting cash into Visible Technologies, a company that monitors the output of social media, in order to “Read your blog posts, keep track of your Twitter updates — even check out your book reviews on Amazon,” reports Wired News.
Of course, the fact that the U.S. government and the military have been overloading the Internet with pro-war propaganda and trolls who are paid to cheerlead for the war on terror and attack critics is an admitted part of their cyberwarfare agenda, and Israel has done the same.
However, the prospect of the CIA closely monitoring social networking websites, whose content largely comprises of inane gossip and sophomoric blabber, shows just how afraid the establishment is of rising popular opposition to their agenda.
“Visible crawls over half a million web 2.0 sites a day, scraping more than a million posts and conversations taking place on blogs, online forums, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. Customers get customized, real-time feeds of what’s being said on these sites, based on a series of keywords,” according to Wired.
The software scores whether each post is positive, neutral or negative on a particular topic and can judge who the most influential poster is in a conversation, for example on a comment board or forum.
According to In-Q-Tel, it wants to use the technology to see how international issues are playing out in foreign media, but as the report notes, “Of course, such a tool can also be pointed inward, at domestic bloggers or tweeters. Visible already keeps tabs on web 2.0 sites for Dell, AT&T and Verizon. For Microsoft, the company is monitoring the buzz on its Windows 7 rollout. For Spam-maker Hormel, Visible is tracking animal-right activists’ online campaigns against the company.”
Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists warns that the software could be used to track and target critics of the government, as well as political figures and journalists.
“Intelligence agencies or employees might be tempted to use the tools at their disposal to compile information on political figures, critics, journalists or others, and to exploit such information for political advantage,” Aftergood told Wired.
Visible chief executive officer Dan Vetras said that the CIA was just one of several government clients that were using the technology and that more were on the horizon.

I’ve been thinking, if things get too crazy or out of hand, the very first thing people need to start doing is taking out the surveillance cameras/traffic cameras on our streets, & anywhere else they are trying to spy on us from! This will be keeping our rebellion peaceful & non-violent, for a while. They will have dibs on our every move, & on every block we drive or walk down, being there are cameras literally on EVERY CORNER! The problem is the corporate globalist banksters have been hard at it for so long now, they have created huge economic imbalances in the world to the point where there are a lot of countries and areas that would appear to have a lot to gain from a world government, and would love to be on the receiving end of the communistic wealth redistribution scheme from countries like ours, to countries like theirs.
On the one hand, I can’t say I blame them, but on the other, there is no legal or moral basis that would entitle anyone anywhere to what little I have worked MY ass off my whole life to attain and acquire. If I cannot even provide for my own old age, then how the hell can anyone expect me to provide for anyone else too?
Most of us were born into this shitty deal, and have taken our whole lives to this point to get past all the brainwahing, propaganda, and bullshit and get to the truth of the matter. We may have participated out of ignorance, but its not like we had much of a choice, given what dis-information we were spoon fed since birth. Many of us who now know better are educating as many as we can, and no longer participating, as much as possible.
The globalist banksters have been robbing us all, rich and poor, and now they want to take people they have already robbed, and rob us again, by forcing us to hand our money over to billions of third-worlders, who will promptly hand it right back to those same banksters, one way, or another. You can bank on that.
80% of Americans can never retire, andwhe nthey do, they will be in poverty before they die. And yet we are expected to now transfer a signincant portion of what little we have to the trird world as payment on a “debt” we “owe” them?
Someone owes someone, thats for sure, but it certainly isn’t me that is owing. Lets strip down the wealthiest 5% of this country and redistribute their wealth first, or not at all.

Have worked hard to divirt attention away from the attack voters and their encumbency of evil’s perpetual war campaign against humanity that is the root cause of many of our problems. And have been running a major blame shifting operation to pin all the fault on the globalists, when the truth is that they’re only part of the problem. But I’ve been after them and AJ to face the facts and support the U.S. Republic, constitution, bill of rights and U.S. code that supports it. And call a spade a spade and let the chips fall where they may. So at least they’re letting more of this information through and allowing people to consider it.

The problem with constitutional government in the U.S. is that a lot of people don’t want it, they may say they do, but they’re lying. What they want is unnecessary war, which is why we’re having so many problems.

Most people that are vocal about government are on the Internet and vocal about it. The Internet allows one to reach millions of people with their message, but has the side effect of putting a big red target on their head.
Before the Internet it may have been harder to organize a revolution, but it was alot easier to keep the revolution under the radar until it hit critical mass. Now, using the Internet to start a revolution brings too much attention to the organizers of the revolution. (which is why guerrilla-style “terrorism” works so well still).
To make it even worse, the Internet works against the revolution as well due to conflicts in information. Disinformation and propaganda runs rampant on all sides of an issue, discrediting the issue itself.

omg! There was an employment ad in the local newspaper here [where I am] looking to hire “researchers” to scan lists of names that will be given them. The salary pays very well, and all you do is sit behind your computer at home all day and go over the names on the “List” provided, checking them out and monitoring them on their Facebook, Twitr, MYSpace, etc. accounts, and then report a daily summary back to the hiring company…!!! They have computers programs that pick up key words and phrases. They have doing it for years. Any post, any communication through e-mail, it all goes through their filter, through the NSA database. It is a main piece of control for the coming police state.

I doubt Alex has the time to moderate, he’s an employer with a lot to do. There’s definately a toe the infowars party line component to the censorship process. My guess is that some of it is moderator specific, because sometimes all my stuff goes through and sometimes it doesn’t, it may depend who’s on the board, some may be more open minded than others.

I’ve seen quite a bit of it, some of it’s twisted, but compared to mad dog who insults people constantly, I’m not sure which is more offensive. It is actually easy to beat the CFR, Trilaterals, and the profiteering-warmongering CIA. You only need to quit buying from corporations and encourage your friends to do the same. Quit paying income taxes. If you must pay taxes then donate to charities. For example, you can donate potted monkey grass or just junk to any charitable institution. They will practically write you a receipt for any value you want. I’ve seen it done. If possible go to school and take advantage of grants. Work the hell out of them. Buy from the internet. If you buy on ebay contact the buyer and arrange an off ebay sale. This is how i saved quite a lot of money. You save them seller fees and cut ebay out of the picture. Don’t buy books. They are all free on the internet. Download software using torrents and end big companies like microsoft. This is how you can win. It is insane to claim to be at war with the system and at the same time being its slave.
