Climate skeptics claim leaked emails are evidence of collusion among scientists

Climate change sceptics who have studied the emails allege that they provide “smoking gun” evidence that some of the climatologists colluded in manipulating data to support the widely held view among the world’s climatologists that climate change is real and is being largely caused by the actions of mankind. So far the veracity of the emails has not been confirmed and the scientists involved have declined to comment on the story which broke on a blog called The Air Vent.
The files, which in total amount to 61Mb of data, were first uploaded onto a Russian server, before being widely mirrored across the internet. The emails were accompanied by the anonymous statement, “We feel that climate science is, in the current situation, too important to be kept under wraps. We hereby release a random selection of correspondence, code, and documents. Hopefully it will give some insight into the science and the people behind it.”

I went to the Pennsylvania State University’s Earth System Science Centre where Director Micheal Mann where he was feathured in many of these email exchanges and he states in a artcle :

Global warming appears to have stalled. Climatologists are puzzled as to why average global temperatures have stopped rising over the last 10 years. Some attribute the trend to a lack of sunspots, while others explain it through ocean currents.
At least the weather in Copenhagen is likely to be cooperating. The Danish Meteorological Institute predicts that temperatures in December, when the city will host the United Nations Climate Change Conference, will be one degree above the long-term average.
Otherwise, however, not much is happening with global warming at the moment. The Earth’s average temperatures have stopped climbing since the beginning of the millennium, and it even looks as though global warming could come to a standstill this year.
Ironically, climate change appears to have stalled in the run-up to the upcoming world summit in the Danish capital, where thousands of politicians, bureaucrats, scientists, business leaders and environmental activists plan to negotiate a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Billions of euros are at stake in the negotiations.
Reached a Plateau
“At present, however, the warming is taking a break,” confirms meteorologist Mojib Latif of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences in the northern German city of Kiel. Latif, one of Germany’s best-known climatologists, says that the temperature curve has reached a plateau. “There can be no argument about that,” he says. “We have to face that fact.”
Well, hold on a minute there bub. Maybe you Germans have to fact facts, we Americans, we can keep wandering around with our delusions for years, because we have real politicians over here, the kind who can lie through their teeth day after day for years on end – if the money’s right.
The trouble with countries like Germany is that you people don’t have laissez faire free markets and a culture that celebrates greed and personal aggrandizement at the expense of anything. You need to put science in the back seat where she belongs now that the agenda’s been set, and let the politicians take this hot rod right right off the edge of the cliff at full speed with the bitch screaming her head off all the way.

Here is just a small extract from one email:
I’ve got something quite interesting in progress here. If you look at the original 1989
paper, you will see that Jacoby “cherry-picked” the 10 “most temperature-sensitive”
sites from 36 studied. I’ve done simulations to emulate cherry-picking from persistent
red noise and consistently get hockey stick shaped series, with the Jacoby northern
treeline reconstruction being indistinguishable from simulated hockey sticks. The other
26 sites have not been archived. I’ve written to Climatic Change to get them to
intervene in getting the data. Jacoby has refused to provide the data. He says that his
research is “mission-oriented” and, as an ex-marine, he is only interested in a “few
good” series.
Jacoby has also carried out updated studies on the Gaspé series, so essential to MBH98.
I’ve seen a chronology using the new data, which looks completely different from the old
data (which is a hockey stick). I’ve asked for the new data, but Jacoby-d’Arrigo have
refused it saying that the old data is “better” for showing temperature increases. Need
I comment? I’ve repeatedly asked for the exact location of the Gaspé site for nearly 9
months now (I was going to privately fund a re-sampling program, but Jacoby, Cook and
others have refused to disclose the location.) Need I comment?

Most people dont understand the science, thats why so many people go allong with climate change. Similarly many people dissagree because they also dont understand the science. But I would argue that you dont have to be a scientist to understand the history of climate on this planet. And I would think that most people would understand that the climate has been in perpetual change for millions of years. What most skeptics are saying is that the changes in climate we are currently experiencing (whether cooling or warming) are no different to changes that have occured in history. The middle ages was colder and glaciers grew, in the 90’s its been warmer so glaciers and sea ice recede. Now the earth has been cooling slightly.

“To The Truth” most people are not denying that global climate change is happening. They do however agree that it is not caused by us but rather from natural change we can not control. The issue is that big corps are manipulating data (see Al Gores presentations) to suit their own needs and TAX THE s--- OUT OF US!!! I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He sent his Son Jesus(God manifest in the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) who was conceived by a virgin by the Holy Spirit of God,lived a sinless life, and suffered a horrible death/shed blood and rose again 3 days later to take the penalty of YOUR sins so you dont have to pay for them in hell for eternity! He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!

The TRUTH Says: Even if this “conspiracy” doesn’t pan out, there is still plenty of data from “real” scientists (documented evidence) who question what is being said about climate change. For instance, it’s a “fact” that the suns radiance is increasing. It’s also true that the polar caps on mars are shrinking in an almost identical fashion to those on earth. The IPCC, the U.N.’s main climate change body, is mostly comprised of 1-world politicians & bureaucrats, rather than actual scientists. It’s also a fact that they got caught falsifying data in an effort to make (our slight, natural) global warming look worse.

Several of the emails have already been confirmed to be legit by the very people who wrote them.
