One of most influential scientists in the US government has said that the Earth’s population has exceeded the planet’s “limits of sustainability”.
Dr Nina Fedoroff, the science and technology advisor to the US secretary of state, currently Hillary Clinton, told the BBC’s “One Planet” program that “There are probably already too many people on the planet.”
“We need to continue to decrease the growth rate of the global population; the planet can’t support many more people,” Fedoroff said.
![]() |
Fedoroff, a National Medal of Science laureate (America’s highest science award) has held the position as government advisor since 2007 and previously worked with Condoleezza Rice.
The professor of molecular biology also advocated the widespread introduction of genetically modified foods, slamming those who have criticized the unknown effects of GM as living in the past.
“We wouldn’t think of going to our doctor and saying ‘Treat me the way doctors treated people in the 19th Century’, and yet that’s what we’re demanding in food production.”
Fedoroff’s comments echo those of other prominent scientists who have thrown their weight behind the long term agenda to implement measures to stem the population of the planet. This view is gaining ground with increased pressure on governments to act over climate change as the justification.

Yea. Eating natural foods is “living in the past”. Bullshit. Nothing is wrong with natural foods. And nobody knows what is wrong with the genetically modified foods yet either, at least not conclusively as far as the general public can tell.
Although, I can imagine altering the DNA of something that has been evolving through natural selection for millions of years, in an unknown and possibly unstable way, could increase cancer rates of those who eat it.
You can’t tell me some of this primitively genetically altered foods do not have DNA conflicts with themselves.

I can’t wait to see who they define as undesirables in their new world. Those ants that need to be drowned for the good of the colony. The resources exsist to ensure sound stewardship of the planet and it’s inhabitants. To say otherwise is daft. Kinda of a global “stone soup” if you will. Not all billionares are evil and feel that the population needs to be eradicated. Yes there are a couple. However they are outnumbered and Some feel indebted to humanity in one way or another. This planet of ours is facund. Is there not millions of square miles of land NOT being used to grow food and support free energy? If 1/3 the people of the planet started generating their own energy and food and living more efficient collective-family lifestyle it is safe to say the horizon could one filled with dynamic promise.
It’s not that there are too many people it’s that the fundimental way we have been going about providing (or not providing in most cases) that has caused a spiral. There is hope. Trust me on that!

I am aware of Agenda 21, but I didn’t realize that it advocated out and out killing – is it disguised as war or bird flu? Has it been implemented and is the population going down?
It’s obvious that mother earth is strained. I don’t know what is a comfortable number of people. Maybe USA should have 50 million – not 400million. I think a sane population control policy is a good idea. Paying welfare moms a larger stipend if they have more children is counter productive. A little birth control would go a long way in the poor third world countries. Abortion in my eyes is a big no-no. I can’t understand Obama sending money overseas (your tax dollars at work) to promote abortion. Yet the screaming liberals will support most any kind of abortion *Make sure you crush the little head before you drag that thing out doc* but have a problem with the death penalty. Once we get the globalists out of power we can work on population control.

well if planet earth has reach it’s maximum sustainability, why don’t we get rid of them, the elites take up more room on the earth then anyone else, with all their genetically modified soldiers of death, their ever expanding clubs of banksters and bureaucratic nazi’s, bilderbergs, etc. and they’re eating all our food and breathing all our air and drinking all our water and guzzling all our oil.

We are over populated. We need to eliminate the world’s population by 1-2% if you catch my drift…
April 2nd, 2009 at 12:38 am
Unfortunately I have to agree with the basic statement. However, these ELITES are not talking about the 3rd world which is being denuded at an every accelerating rate. They want to DEPOPULATE US! We are experiencing a slow population decrease in almost ALL western civilized countries, especially if unrestricted illegal immigration was drastically reduced. Isn’t it amussing that the same LIBS who scream about overpopulation are the same ones who fight for open borders. When it comes time to geting that next vacine, will it kill you or save you? How valuable are you to the NWO?

April 2nd, 2009 at 2:42 am
This is such utter nonsense. The earth can handle and sustain 75-80 BILLION. If you move everyone in the world to Australia, every man, woman and child of the 6.6 Billion population will have over 1/4 acre to themselves. With that much space many people can have their own gardens and decent sized house on that 1/4 acre. If the Japanese can do it why not everyone! Plus I believe there is a cap where population growth stops and we’re probably not that far off. This Satanic idea that there are too many people on the planet is bullshit, horseshit and cowshit too! I agree that there are too many stupid Sheeple on the Earth but that’s a whole different story!

Yes I have been to Tokyo as a matter of fact, and it’s a very nice place. There is WAY more room to grow food and raise animals than most people aren’t thinking about. Look at all of the massive open space in the world, especially in the US. This idea that the earth is overpopulated is completely ridiculous. Even if the population was at 50 Billion right now we can still live side by side with nature and still all be healthy. It’s these Satanic evil greedy bankers that have stunted the Technological, Social, Financial and Spiritual growth of the human species. Greed has gotten the best of them and I say them because I don’t believe they’re truly human, maybe in physical form but I can’t imagine what sort of Demons are inside their heads. Us humans should be living a much better life, a life where we make our own choices and suffer the consequences. Not some life where others think they need to make those choices for us and come up with ways to give us a reason for those choices. Like this whole crap about global warming, they think humans are killing the environment when in fact it’s those disgusting globalists.

Well there you go. Now we really have use for all those coffins. Reduce the population quickly and put the bodies in the bins. Way to go. That must be what they are discussing at the G20 summit meeting. How to lower the population of the world.
April 2nd, 2009 at 7:18 am
There might be some things that are unsustainable, but if they are, they will NATURALLY come to an end because the people will not be able to do them anymore. We DON’T NEED THEM TO TELL US WHAT IS AND WHAT ISN’T SUSTAINABLE. The NWO conspirators want to ARTIFICIALLY create the “impression” of unsustainability and shortages so they can IMPOSE their programs on us. If it were true, we wouln’t “have to depopulate”, we would simply by law of nature “depopulate”… see? Their choice of words alone shows you that it’s another big fat ugly lie out of the pits of hell.
April 2nd, 2009 at 7:48 am
i don’t think they’re totally full of shit on that issue, some areas of the planet are extremely overcrowded and that affect resources in a dramatic way, fact. instead of depopulate why not repopulate some deserted areas, which are the majority of the planet?
April 2nd, 2009 at 7:57 am
Very easy solution to that issue – eliminate poverty and starvation. Biggest factor in lowering human growth rates is to ensure people are allowed to live in relative comfort and not in fear of starvation.

April 2nd, 2009 at 11:14 am
Seems like these “elitists” all want the world to themselves. there is plenty of room for more people if we just used our advancements in technology to accommodate them.
April 2nd, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Consider this…. If Dr. Fedoroff believes there are too many people on Earth, and supports depopulation, then why is she so fond of GM foods, which are supposedly developed for the purpose of increased yields, in order to feed more people? Could it be that the GM foods are actually designed for more sinister reasons, like causing sterility, illness, and death?
I’ll bet she’s on Monsanto’s payroll.

April 2nd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I find the idea that this scientist has no problem with GMO foods being put in the food chain without real testing, and she promotes drastic population reduction, a bit worrying.
If this scientist thinks that humans need to be culled from the planet, then her desire that we get GMO foods makes a lot more sense.
The reality is, with the government and corporate elite tampering with the vaccine and food supply, overpopulation is an outdated concept.
The current human population is experiencing a pandemic of human infertility and shorter life span, due to health issues from our toxic vaccines and poisoned food and water supply.
An implosion of birth rates is occuring in most first world countries, with abortion accelerating the trend, and only immigration from third world countries is covering this collapse.
The U.S., Japan, and Europe are below replacement rate of native populations, and the impact of this collapse will be more evident with time, as the aging populations put pressure on the health and other social systems that the younger workers will not be able to support.
Our current world economy is designed to operate with an ever increasing workforce, and we have never experienced a massive loss of workers due to age, disease, and lack of replacement of a younger generation.
