Congress Critters Confronted Over Obamacare in Little Rock

U.S. lawmakers have a big battle ahead in September. What should they do about the nation’s healthcare system? Those pushing for change say too many Americans are uninsured or not covered for all their illnesses. And they say for those who are happy with their coverage the cost will get out of control in a matter of years.
Democratic representatives Mike Ross and Vic Snyder both came to Little Rock Wednesday to explain what changes could be coming. And Arkansans got a chance to sound off too. It was a loud crowd at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and everybody had something to say.
Mike Massucco said his biggest fear is a government run healthcare option. He said, "it undermines the whole capitalistic system. With them they say, ‘no, we’re not going to have a government option.’ They will and of course nobody can compete with the government."

That’s the problem right there. There’s this fallacy that exists that insurance is the be-all-end-all solution to medical coverage. People have completely lost focus on the underlying cause of ballooned medical costs. It’s NOT the insurance companies, the lobbies or the industry itself….it’s GOVERNMENT! Government intervention and bullsh** bureaucracy is what’s caused medical costs to spiral out of control, and also what’s brought failed program after failed program (think HMOs, Medicare and Medicaid). Get the government the hell out altogether, let the free market and competition do the work, and ONLY use insurance for what the original intention was: extreme cases and emergency situations.

If anyone has any questions about how healthcare should be run just watch the Frontline documentary Sick Around The World… The US is 36th in healthcare… That’s really embarrassing for the only super power in the world… I really don’t see how hard it can be… For f*** sake even Taiwan can do it better than us and they don’t even have a socialized system… They had a problem in the 90’s and all they did was look at all the other healthcare systems in the world and took the best ideas that worked in each particular country and put it all together… Sounds simple to me… If Taiwan, UK, Germany or Japan can do it why not the greatest country in the world? After finding christ I came to the realization that we should never hold any elected official up to a high standard but at the same time we should realize that the son of god got hung in front of his people and the depth of the massacre was not fully realized. With that being said realize that as christians we shall not judge Obama or any elected official. We should be an image of Christ and follow his principles and motives with a sharp eye. Lets first DEFINE the problem so that we can implement a solution that makes some sense.
The high cost of health insurance is a direct result of three things: a) Doctors costs and their medical malpractice insurance premiums. b) Lawyers, who handle medical malpractice suits brought by patients – some legitimate; others cases are fraudulent and/or frivolous. c) Insurance companies themselves, who continue to raise rates based on ‘losses’ from claims by malpractice lawsuits and lawyers costs. This an out of control spiraling situation (much like the federal reserve’s built-in inflationary monetary system) that desperately needs a closed-loop-gain mechanism to self regulate the industry.
To solve the health coverage problem we start by implementing effective tort reform (with some sharp teeth) whereby the best efforts are made to prevent fraudulent claims and unneccessary costs in the system. This reform will protect doctors / hospitals who are now spending very large sums on medical malpractice insurance premiums. Once that part of the equation / problem is addressed and solved, the doctors / hospital rates will fall because the medical malpractice risk factor is either ELIMINATED or greatly reduced. The insurance carriers can then begin to reduce their rates to the consumer as a function of fewer claims / payouts and litigation costs.
The only people winning this game at this point are the lawyers, and the insurance companies. The patient looses, because the insurance coverage is too expensive and not comprehensive because of high deductibles. Just like the Federal Reserve banksters, the lawyers and insurance companies in this case make out like tall dogs no matter what happens……

Brad, being a BanksterCrook I like your “tort reform” idea because you and I know that “wink wink” all of those people suing is what is making health care cost so much. Ralph Nader was full of it when he said that insurance companies had invested heavily in Wall Street and when they lost huge sums of cash they simply increased premiums to make up for their losses. Also, all of those studies conducted that show that very few large awards are made to those who bring suits and those that are made are often significantly reduced on appeal are simply bogus. Right?
But people like the idea of blaming suit-happy disgruntled patients. Of course, everyone knows someone who was killed in the hospital–a loved one–and yet they don’t sue–me for one. I’ll bet you know someone too. Most people who have loved ones killed by doctors simply don’t sue. If more would sue, these insurance companies would quit insuring them, getting rid of incompetent doctors. How many people do you know who have a horror story about a loved one treated incompetently–even to the point of death– in the hospital and yet how many do you know that sued?
Insurance executives live high on the hog as well as doctors. I’m not taking up for the lawyers, but most tort lawyers only take a case if they are pretty sure to win it because the patient doesn’t usually put up any money and if the lawyer doesn’t win, he is out all of those court-filing fees, hours of depositions, deposition costs, discovery and all of his time researching the law. Meanwhile, insurance companies have unlimited pockets to hire expert witnesses and there lawyers are paid by the hour–regardless of if they win or lose.
The last time they polled medical school students, they admitted that they were going into medicine so that they could make a lot of money. I think there was a time when doctors saw practicing medicine as an art–not as a ticket to riches.
Patients are already facing end-of-life issues. If you go into the hospital, you better have your Last Will ready, just in case.
As far as government-run health care–I know a lot of people who are on Medicare. They are happy with it. It would be totally self-paying if the government swine had not been stealing it all of these years and writing I-O-U’s, but had paid the fund interest on borrowed money–as much interest as it pays my fellow BanksterCrooks when it borrows money for bombs and war machinery.
