The bizarre story is laid out in a police incident report obtained by website The Smoking Gun.
Officer Dustin Bradshaw was called to the home by a woman complaining that her daughter was being unruly and refusing to go to sleep. Bradshaw wrote that when he arrived at the home, he found Kiara Medlock “balled up in (sic) the floor crying and screaming.”
After watching her mother attempt to get Kiara into the bathtub with little success, Bradshaw took the girl into the living room and threatened her with jail. That didn’t settle things down. At some point, Bradshaw claims Kiara’s mother told him to “taser her if I needed to.”

Yeah, kids are out of control these days & while I sure don’t promote the tasing of a 10 year old kid, I do promote the belt as a reasonable alternative. Which by the way is the responsibility of the parent, not the police! I see these little brats on Nanny 911, or Super Nanny all the time & what I’ve noticed with every single one of these out of control kids, is bad parenting. “I can’t tell them NO”! This is why our Country is falling apart, because parents can’t or WON’T get control over their bratty kids!!!

Here’s the real question. Where was the father who now just steps up and complains…..what about the mother who seems so useless that she can’t even control her own child. What ever happened to diciplining your own child? There are no adverse lingering affects to the Taser, whether by Man or child. Once an Officer is attacked, then a felony has occurred. Whether it’s a child or not, it’s still a felony. One thing is for sure, I bet that child will listen to Mom from now on. Cudos Officer Bradshaw, keep up the good work!

Who says we can’t spank our kids when they deserve it? Hmm, CPS that’s who! Who died and put them in charge of the world??? No one that I know of. God puts parents in charge of children and if the children don’t obey, then its up to the parents to train the child to think for themselves and punish them for the wrong choices. Duh. It’s obvious this child is mentally ill or has some type of autism spectrum disorder. I can’t believe the mother would endorse arrest and/or tasering. Some type of child abuse complaint with the state needs to be filed against the cop who did this. Also, if the child was tasered, she should have been taken to the hospital versus jail. The good cops can’t arrest the bad ones because the bad cops have shaken to the top . . . they control things. A good cop trying to get action taken against a bad one would end up unemployed, or even possibly dead.

It’s possible to ensure change at the local level, but it’s almost impossible to get change at the federal level, as has been clearly shown at the 2006 and 2008 elections.
And for you World Order buffs, it will be completely impossible to get change. All edicts will come from on high, and we, at the local level, will be criminals if we refuse to follow those edicts.
That’s not a future I want to bequeath to my children. Do you?

In the video, the cop stated that “…he had no other way to control the unruly child rather than to use mace or pepper spray.” Us parents have to deal with our kids tantrums on a daily basis and know that there are PLENTY of alternative ways to handle a 10 yr old’s fit. Do we taser our kids when they are acting up? Absolutely not. Parents are put in jail and claimed un-fit for the slightest cat’s scratch on a child, being justified as “abuse”, so what makes it ok for this guy to use a TASER gun on a CHILD? ONLY 10! Obviously the child was screaming for mental help, so why in hell didnt he call in social services or someone to HELP vs. abusing her like an animal or an adult criminal. Maybe the mother was at fault for the cause of the child being upset in the first place. Sounds like the mom even encouraged the officer to do that, which is even more disturbing. She should be proven un-fit and the child should be re-homed. Period. I pray for that poor girl. She was suffering emotionally for some reason, and her mom just made it all the more traumatizing. So sad…

CBS news reported this but it was claimed the girl refused to take a shower. Regardless, I agree with most in here, the cop was wrong and the mother should shoulder most of the responsibility for calling the Police in the first place. In fact one radio show host, John Stadtmiller said the mother should be cattle prodded!

Most parents I know, including myself when my son was younger, who are in a divorced situation would have called the other parent or continue to take whatever action necessary (But stopping short of beating the child senseless). Often my son’s ex calls him when the boys are not behaving.
I hope the girl’s father gets sole custody for the daughters sake and his peace of mind!
Why some parents continue to do things like this is beyond my comprehension!

The cop is only guilty of following the suggestion of this bad excuse of a parent.

Going through a similar situtation, called the cops, had to my kid is 6 foot five, I am five four, I literally have to climb on a chair to smack him. But guess what I didn’t. It is illegal to lay a hand on a kid. Kid broke cerfew, got drunk, ect, ect, Called the cops, don’t worry I was almost thrown out the window (wish they would of), cop would of went with me. Did not fight, there is a whole lot more to this story, but hungry judge didn’t want to hear it. Just GUILTY, guilty, and everytime I go to court on a STATUS hearing this same judge keeps repeating, I believe this happened the way the cops said… Blah blah blah, I am not sure if he is trying to reconvince himself OR is he wanting me to admit to something I didn’t do, not sure, I am appealing and appealing to the highest level of the law and if I am not heard by the courts, well I will have to go to the press.. Judgie Wogdie won’t like this one bit….Looks like I am going to jail and my son can be homeless. Lesson learned??? Yep, even if you see a baby raped in the streets… DON”T EVER EVER EVER call the cops. There is more to my story, I will be Appealing to the highest court of the land. When my son was younger I did try to disciple him and DCFS was called. Hitting is wrong blah, blah. They tell the kids in school if your parent spank them it is child abuse. There is more to this story, I was stopping the kid from blowing up the whole block. I am not one to let my kid do whatever he wants. I will probalby die in jail, but at least I won’t be alone, half the country will be there for not paying for health care. I plan on ending my life before then, thank you for your mercy and for some of us there are things worse than death, like watching you kid die and watching the spirit of what was once a great country go down in flames. If I had any fight left in me I woudl join a….nope, not enough people to stand up. We are too busy judging each other and jumping to conclusions. BTW if you kick your kid out of your house in KLLMYJOY (Illinois). It is a FELONY ABANDONMENT charge, while right now I am facing a Class A Misdermenor…I eill die in jail and my kid will die in the streets…I am really for the panel, I am not afraid to die, I am more afraid to live. There are a lot of things worse than death…I pray for death, I am too sick to care anymore and I did the best I could. Called the cops cuz this kid was screwing with the oven and trying to light a smoke, next time I’ll just let him. Your right, I am an idiot and beatings are a fun way of life now…YEAHHHH, the party never ends. Thank you for your mecry and understanding, I hope you get the same if and when you are pulled over or whatever you are doing wrong such as breathing. Here is another wonderful story out of Illinois..Father accused of molesting kid by mother and kid. Foresics found out kid was lying and dad got custody. A few years later kid came up with more lies cuz the then staight A student started to get lazy, fat and did not want to do all the things dad set up to do to keep him out of trouble. So the kid starts up another lie (with mom’s help again) saying that dad stomped on his chest. SOO…DCFS said it was unfounded, did not believe kid and mom has kid in another state, yet dad still has custody and an order of protection not to even talk to the kid. Joe (kid) is now in Georgia and having a hard time as the only white kid, getting real ass kicking and my buddy has suffered two heart attacks, now has cancer and collecting disablity. My freind even offered to do a lie detector test. I’m not sure which state is worse Arkansas or Illinois, it’s a toss up. There is always more to the story. How do we even know the mom said this??? I mean cops never LIE RIGHT??? I am not sure what to believe anymore…

Yep-you are thinking like I am-we don’t know the mother told the cop to do it. Regardless, I really don’t think a child should be tazed, at least in this situation…I think the child should have been ignored. That probably would have resulted in a better outcome. When the child is calmed down later (the next day), etc…tell them they are grounded…I am sure there is more to this story, though. It usually is….

God bless you-hang in there. I am 5′ 1 1/2″ and my son is 20 now and on his own (a Marine) and he tried to intimidate me more than once and I still to this day have to put him in his place for his disrespect toward me, his mother. My family interfered too much in the way I tried to raise him (I don’t believe in spoiling children) and they have let him get away with alot more than I allow, so, of course, they caused alot of alienation between he and myself-it is very sad…they spoil him and his behavior proves it…I can barely go around these people. I am one of those people who stands up for what they believe, and yes, like one of the other people commented is soooo true-people are giving in to their children and not teaching them they can’t have everything they want… allowing their children to be in charge instead of the parents has caused the young people of today to be so ungrateful and incondiderate-I have witnessed such terrible behavior of young children and old these days-and I see many of them (including the parents) need a good spanking! I will say a prayer for you!

This is just about the worst crap I think I’ve ever heard a police officer doing! Absolutly right, we cant spank our kids but an officer of the law can tazz them? What a f---ed up country we live in! If a police officer ever did that to my child I would beat that officer half to death, send his OR her ass to the hospital if I didn’t kill them with my bear hands! As harsh as I might sound it is my responsibilty to protect my kids at ALL costs. I think its time to show lawenforcement that they are not “The Law” but mearly enforcers of it! Just chiming in to say I was a bratty kid who was spanked and whipped with a belt, it had the exact opposite effect that it was supposed to have, I would just resist more. Like almost anything in the world there are variables that come into play. One variable that does not apply here is tazing your children, or any one not threatening actual harm. Now yer talkin and thats the answer. If the LE (Co. Sheriff) would do their jobs make the arrest. Arrest the DA if he wont prosecute. Arrest the Judge if he wont hear it. Make them do their jobs. If all else fails the Sheriff can convene a grand jury and move forward. Hows child assault and kidnapping sound Bradshaw.
If 1, (one) Sheriff of the 3500 or so in the Country would stand and deliver. Faithful to their oath.

This is insane. Tase a child. This is not just about power it is about technique of low risk (chickens---) dominance by force (tasers). Imposed by immunity for those (police) that impose the technique of pain compliance by a by officers that have limited training in peaceful resolutions. That pronounced ‘it easier to tase you than to negotiate’. If the cop cant deal with a fifth grader. He probably has no children and is under 30. What will he do when he’s really under pressure and someone gives him the OK to shoot or an order and he just does it.

Who is this woman that believes it’s the policeman’s job to raise her child? It reminds me of the “Village” idea. No it does not take a villiage to raise your child, it takes a family.
It sucks to think that the mother has the same vote that we do. She probably voted for every social program. I can just imagine a future where gov’t employees come into your home everyday to make sure your child does his/her homework, chores, and has a propper bedtime. Then the next step will just be raising the population in camps as Czar Holdren suggests.

It seems getting arrested, tazed, etc for not going to sleep early is a violation of Amend 8.
How about no desert for a week? Or no TV for a week? That seems like a better punishment for not going to bed at 6:30 pm (which is way too early in my opinion).

Well for one thing, this is arkansas were talking about, and the funny thing is, its MY home state. I will be the first to admit there are a TON of people in my state that have absolutely no morals whatsoever. This is a day and age where you got kids raising kids. Most kids in my state start having sex between the ages of 12 and 14. Too many people running around with a moral compass that is as skewed as their brain cells. Inbreeding jokes aside, it has nothing to do with being inbred, parents just arent teaching their kids better. I will be the first one to say “f--- the law” when it comes to punishing my kid. I’m not going to abuse them, but if they do bad enough to warrant an asswhooping i’ll be the first to do it.
I was a correctional officer years ago, and i can tell you exactly where 99.9% of the people land whose parents just simply dont care to teach them about consequences and taking responsibility for their actions. They land in jail and then piss and moan and blame mommy and daddy because they didnt teach them right. My sister pretty much didnt punish her kids at all, she was too afraid she’d hurt them, and now her 14 year old daughter was caught dry humping her 17 year old boyfriend in her bedroom. I’ve seen he and her both doing things they are way too young for and ive said things to them, but my niece gets an attitude with me and tells me i dont have a right to tell her anything. She’s lucky if her mother doesnt turn her over to me. I’m an army brat and my dad never had a problem putting his boot in my ass, and i’ve never done anything worse than get a speeding ticket in my whole life.

It takes a real big man to taser a 65 pound child and handcuff her. That officer should have taken one look at the situation and backed out and walked away. It was a domestic situation that he had no right getting involved in. When the mother called the cops, she proved that she doesn’t have the maturity to raise that child.
My question now is: Why hasn’t Arkansas DFPS agents taken that child away from her mother and given her to her father? The mother has lost all credibility since she let the officer taser a 5th grader.
What’s even worse is the toronto star has this put out, but nobody else has.

Yup, here we go again with another ‘taser’ incident. Here in NJ, cops are now allowed to carry tasers (after many years of not being able to have them)…Wow? There should be very-strict laws being used against police-officers who misuse tasers–but there isn’t! Hey people, complain and complain and complain until LAWS can be made to keep cops under control with their electronic-toys, or stuff will get worse…There should be laws made that police-officers can be criminally-charged for misusing tasers!
