The plan calls for putting plainclothes officers in different locations around the city to spot drivers who are speeding, not wearing seat belts, or changing lanes erratically.
In one tactic, senior Houston Police Officer William Dodson will dress in street clothes and stand at a street corner with a sign in his hand.
Some people could mistake him for a vagrant, but on closer inspection, they will see that the sign is reminding people to wear their seat belts.

People need to get signs and walk around letting drivers know that cops are impersonating homeless and also let the homeless know.
This really takes the cake. They need to get in their freaking cars and do their cop job the honest and fair way. Too bad none of them are honest and fair. I found that out early in life in TX and I have had a problem wih authority ever since.

Nation wide ballots are not necessary and too much energy and effort wasted empowering a legislative process that is more a part of the problem than the solution. The problem with the intrusive laws controlling traffic and automobile registration is that the people have foolishly gone into agreement with the administrative agency known as the DMV. The Department of Motor Vehicle nor any state has the legla authority to declare what is a right and what is not a right, that particular authority belongs sloely to the people. That the DMV insists on declaring driving an privilege and not a right does not make it legal or Constitutional. If people are required by law to drive with a license this means that driving itself is an illegal activity. If it is illegal to drive then it is illegal to create streets, roads, freeways and highways to facilitate such illegal activities, and yet the state does this. It is not illegal to drive and driving is not a state granted privilege but is a God granted right. This makes any so called laws declaring such a right, privilege null and void. What validates the laws behind the DMV’s across the states is the voluntary actions of the people who hand over the bill of sale to their vehicles in exchange for a “title” and apply for a licnese to drive. This application of registration and license becomes a contract between that individual and the state and that individual is then contractually obligated to adhere to the rules and regulation of the administrative agency he or she contracted with. Instead of wasting our time campaigning for nationwide ballots to repeal illusory laws why not simply obey the real laws that demand that both state and federal government respect the rights of the people? Why not refuse to grant jurisdiction to the DMV or anyother administrative agency that would not have jurisdiction without us granting it, and take back what is ours to take? Why not live free and ignore the government? Let them intrude and challenge their jurisdiction every step of the way. After all, once you or I have challenged the jurisdiction, it is then up to them to prove they have it.

Campaigning for nationwide ballot measures to repeal dubious laws is just a waste of effort and time. The only reason administrative agencies such as the DMV’s across the nation have any authority what so ever is because the people continue to grant them jurisdiction and voluntarily hand over the bill of sale to their vehicles in exchange for a “title of registration” and voluntarily apply for a license to drive which validates any law that says driving is illegal. Of course, if driving was illegal then the actions of states that pave streets, roads, freeways and highways would be aiding and abetting criminal activities. But, driving is not a crime and is not a privilege granted by the state and the only thing that gives this fiction any credibility is the agreement people enter when they apply for license and registration at the DMV. The people do not need to distract themselves with campaigns of repealing laws on national ballot measures, all they need to do is quietly and respectfully withdraw their support of administrative agencies that intrude the way they do. What the people need to do is to find the courage to refuse to grant jurisdiction to government agencies that don’t all ready have it and to be willing to face criminal prosecution once the have begun the process of challenging such jurisdiction. King George III did not recognize any legal validitity to the Declaration of Indenpendence and neither will any tyrant today. This does not make that document or the subsequent Constitution for the United States any less valid. It takes an understanding of law and patience and courage but when these are employed and the people, individually but together, finally begin the process of removing themselves from a system not Constitutional, then will we begin to win our freedoms back.

How about when they park an unmanned police car on the side of the highway. People see the car off in the distance, recognise it as a police cruiser and immediatly slow down. Once you pass the car you realise its just a decoy. Effective, but shady. I have even seen on television where its not even a real squad car, sometimes it’s a cardboard cutout!! Dirty motherf%$#ers!

Respect for the “police” should have never been granted to begin with. Administrative agencies such as “police” forces are not Constitutional agencies of police powers where the executive is duly elected by the people. That distinction belongs to the Sheriff and it is the Sheriff and his deputies who deserve the respect they are due. When a free individual is confronted by a so called “police officer” and that person is violating the rights of the individual, then the person whose rights are being violated should demand the Sheriff be brought in immediately and if the so called “police officer” refuses to bring in the Sheriff then the individual should call the Sheriff themself as soon as possible. When a so called “police officer” is violating the rights of a person those violations and the jurisdiction that “officer” claims to operate under must be challenged immediately. Those challenges of jurisdiction may be construed as “violence” or “non-compliance” by that so called “officer” but if indeed there is no jurisdiction to begin with then the so called “officer” who has declared the jurisdiction to justify their actions is not protected by the authority of their badge and have acted as private individuals with no more legal authority than any other individual to abrogate or derogate the rights of others. Not even the duly elected Sheriff or his or her deputies has the right to abrogate or derogate the rights of an individual, but is far more likely that an officer of the law who has been elected by the people and therfore more accountable to the people will know the law better than an officer of an administrative agency where their agents are more comfortably buffered from Constitutional constraints. It ultimately comes down to understanding the law and using it to protect yourself from the tyranny of others. Understanding the law will not necessarily stop the the tyrants but it will stand valid while you challenge the actions tyrants. Respect and support the legal actions of your local Sheriff and challenge all dubious actions of any other so called officer of the law from the “police” to private security guards all who purport to be jusitified by law in abrogating and derogating your rights

7.62, have you tried the Silver Bear 185 gr FMJ? Flat out the muzzle and accurate over 500 yards. Best round I’ve shot out of an M91/30 since I got it. You can find it as cheap as 7.62×39 as well. Without sights on the rifle I was within 1 foot at about 550 yards.

Police aren’t on the highway or roads to protect civilians from all of the aforementioned scary dangers! It’s for revenue. In Texas you get pulled over for no license plate light and it’s $130. BS! Like you have to remember to check your license plate light, every time you get in your car. BS! GET THE COPS OUT OF MY CAR! I choose to drive the dangerous roads in my pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. I don’t need to cops every time somebody annoys me or drives without manners. You can’t regulate that! Besides, they only want to see what’s going on in your car, that’s why they pull you over and search you down, every chance they get. Policing the highways is about money, not safety. Giving someone a license in Texas means they passed a kindergarten computer test. Nothing more. It’s just a way to track you. Hmm, tell us more! I’ve been praying for a category 5, but bankruptcy might do the trick. I don’t have anything against native Houstonans — most seem friendly and decent to me — but this town seems to attract narcissistic jerks from around the world, as well as the rest of the US.
I’ve never had trouble with cops here, despite my pro-union, anti-offshore-outsourcing bumper stickers, but I have to agree with the post that said HPD should use its creativity to fight real crimes, not traffic violations. Then again, given how many have been murdered by illegal immigrants that officers can’t even screen, I can understand why they’re hesitant to deal with real criminals.

Had a flat tire once out on the highway went out of control off the road and did two 360’s landed right side up and probably wouldn’t be alive if it were not for seatbelts, couple weeks later another car with two people went off the road in the same area and killed booth the passengers. It may be annoying to get shafted for it but they can save your life.

That’s not the argument. So what if seatbelts save lives? So do helmets. Should the government require you to wear one while driving a car? The point is that we have lost freedom of choice. It’s a slippery slope. Being stupid is not a crime and shouldn’t be. Is it your position that giving someone a ticket and making them pay a fine is actually motivated by public safety? Wake up is absolutely correct. There was never any law preventing people from wearing seat belts prior to the legislation that came out requiring people to wear them. Josey Wales do you need a law requiring you to wear a seat belt before you wear one? Are you not capable of making that choice yourself? The fix is to drop all ticket quotas and direct all monies from tickets to something like the Homeless sheltyers. This way there is no direct benefit to the police for giving out more tickets.
They also need to ban the darn Seat Belt law which has been and is to this day nothing but an ATM for the government.
Does the Seat Belt save lives? yes, however it’s not the governemnts bussiness nor is it their constitutional obligation/right to protect an indivudal from making bad choices that affect only themselves. Requiring a driver to make all persons under age wear a seat belt is a different story but no one should be forced to wear their own seat belt.

I think seatbelts need to be redesigned but I support seatbelt laws. Only because it reduces wasted medical efforts on dumbasses that could have easily prevent their hospital stay and leaves that medical attention for people that need it.

I have an urgent message for you, more important than any message you can hear. God is Holy and cannot accept sin(honor thy mother and father…, thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not steal, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not covet..etc…Exodus 20:12-17). You could be perfect in all the law and stumble at one point and it is as if you broke all of them:

The penalty of sin is death and eternal punishment in the LAKE OF FIRE. I am warning you about hell because I love you! You are dead in your sins and headed for hell which is described in the Word as a FIRE THAT QUENCHES NOT(”…the fire is not quenched” Mark 9:44). It is a horrible and terrible place of everlasting torment that people will go because of their sins.
“And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” Luke 16:22-24

But God has provided a way for each to escape the lake of fire. He sent his Son Jesus(God manifest in the flesh-1 Timothy 3:16) who was conceived by a virgin by the Holy Spirit of God,lived a sinless life, and suffered a horrible death/shed blood and rose again 3 days later to take the penalty of YOUR sins so you dont have to pay for them in hell for eternity! He loved you so much which is why he did it! He is the only one to have fufilled the law perfectly(sinless) and paid the price of the entire world’s sins so that man could be saved on the merits of His perfection(see Romans 5:19). All you must do to be saved is BELIEVE in Him(trust in Him to save you as a sinner). You must admit your lost sinful condition to Him/that you’re worthy of hell, and ask Him to save you by placing complete trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation(an example in the Word of someone doing this- “And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13).It is not even partly by yourselves that you can be saved, but only by the merits of Jesus Christ!
“For God so loved the world, He sent his only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” 1 John 2:2

No works or anything you do can save you! May God open your eyes, that one day I may see you in heaven. Read the Word of God(the 1611 King James version- NOT the modern versions, they are corrupt) before rejecting it! Death is fleeting. You may NOT have tomorrow! For death comes when we least expect it! Make sure you are saved TODAY! The Bible condemns the rich, the wealthy, and those who take advantage of the poor, so it CANNOT have been made up by the elite. Because the Word clearly CONDEMNS people such as those! It declares all mankind as sinners(myself included).
