Multiple area law enforcement agencies responded to the Spoon River College 2nd Floor Auditorium in response to a simulated active shooter incident Wednesday.
More than 100 Macomb Police Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, District 14 Illinois State Police 14 and Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety personnel participated in the annual Rapid Response Training (RRT) this week.
The four-day training program was made up of two phases – one for command personnel and another for responding officers – and focused on an active shooter incident at Spoon River College. Rapid response trainers, certified through the United States Attorney’s Office, and master firearms instructors from all four agencies facilitated the training.
