Soon after Marion Cotillard collected her Oscar, neocon friendly crackpots, forever with big fat ideological axes to grind and enemies to attack, crawled out of the woodwork to go after the French actress. Ms. Cotillard’s unforgivable sin? She believes the U.S. government pulled off the September 11, 2201, attacks.
It should be duly noted that Cotillard has used her brain. Because to believe the Brothers Grimm version of events proffered by the government is to admit one is incapable of using his or her brain. It is to believe with dizzy acceptance a handful of cave dwelling Muslims were able to not only defy the laws of physics on that day, but also were able to make NORAD stand down. Of course, for most readers of this site, all of this is old territory tediously retraced.
Cotillard did not mention 9/11 during the Oscar ceremony. In fact, her comments were made last year during a television program. But that did not stop celebrity muckraker Brenda Jones from making it appear as if Marion Cotillard had made the comments as she accepted the Oscar. “Great job by the Academy giving this lady a forum,” writes Jones for the National Ledger. As a Ron Paul hating neocon fellow traveler, Jones was unable to resist throwing Ron Paul in the mix.
“Now some of his supporters have some more company. Rosie O’Donnell used to spout this stuff from time to time on the ABC chat show ‘The View’ (Was she a Ron Paul supporter?) and now Oscar winning actress Marion Cotillard has tossed her two cents worth into the mix on the attacks on 9/11. She believes they are a hoax.”
Not a hoax, Jones — an inside job. Please understand the difference. Not that such crucial differences matter over at the National Ledger, where naked bimbo videos are a click away for those of us not particularity interested in higher brain function.
But Jones is a piker compared to Jeffrey Jolson over at Hollywood Today. Jolson is described as a First Responder, but obviously not one of a growing number who understand what really happened on 9/11. So outraged over the fact Cotillard has an opinion contrary to his — and one based on reality, not the absurdly embellished neocon fairy tale the corporate media demands we digest without critical examination, lest we face the Spanish Inquisition — he alludes to picketing Universal Pictures “by 9/11 victim’s families” because Ms. Cotillard is slotted to play John Dillinger’s belle Billie Frechette in a movie with Johnny Depp this week in Chicago.
Somebody should tell Mr. Jolson increasing numbers of 9/11 victim families blame the government for the murder of their loved ones. For instance, Bill Doyle, father of Joey Doyle, who was killed in the WTC, believes it was an inside job. Doyle told Alex Jones (see video) he estimates around half of the family members his organization, the Coalition of 9/11 Families, are convinced there was government complicity in the attacks.
Does Jolson remember Stanley Hilton, who filed an ill-fated federal lawsuit against Bush and the neocons on behalf of victims of the September 11th attacks? Maybe they should be hounded, as well. Is he aware that half of all New Yorkers polled believe 9/11 was an inside job? Maybe they should be picketed and lose their jobs, too. Back in 2004, a scientific opinion poll revealed that a mere 16% of Americans believe official fairy tale. Does Jolson want to round up the remainder and slap them in mental institutions? Guess we best build a pile pronto.
But never mind. It is the job of the corporate media to fight incessantly against the truth with increasingly absurd propaganda, slander, innuendo, and even, as will likely be the case with Marion Cotillard in the days ahead, efforts to strip people of their livelihood. Cotillard’s crucifixion will be of particular importance, as people pay attention to actors and celebrities, especially those who take Oscars.
