Cybersecurity: Obama’s Promise to Trash the Constitution

During a speech today on “cybersecurity,” Obama told a whopper. He said the government’s effort to protect us from cyber bad guys “will not include monitoring private sector networks or Internet traffic. We will preserve and protect the personal privacy and civil liberties that we cherish as Americans.”
Is it possible Obama has never heard of Mark Klein, the retired AT&T communications technician who said years ago that the company shunted all Internet traffic — including traffic from peering links connecting to other Internet backbone providers — to semantic traffic analyzers, installed in a secret room inside the AT&T central office on Folsom Street in San Francisco? There are similar rooms in Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles and San Diego, all sucking up internet data.

Klein explained that the multinational corporation is doing this at the behest of the NSA. It is “vacuum-cleaner surveillance” approach that grabs everything. “Despite what we are hearing, and considering the public track record of [the Bush] administration, I simply do not believe their claims that the NSA’s spying program is really limited to foreign communications or is otherwise consistent with the NSA’s charter or with FISA [the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act],” said Klein in 2006.
After the NSA showed up in 2002 at AT&T’s Folsom Street facility, Klein began connecting the dots. “You might recall there was a big blowup in the news about the Total Information Awareness [TIA] program, led by Adm. [John] Poindexter, which caused the big upsetness in Congress, because what Poindexter was proposing to do was draw in databases from everywhere — and this was in The New York Times — draw in Internet data, bank records, travel records, everything into one big conglomeration which could be searchable by the government so they could find out everything about what anybody’s doing at any time of day,” Klein told PBS. “And all this would be done without any warrants. This is how it was presented by Poindexter himself in The New York Times, and that caused a great upset, brouhaha, in Congress.”
On January 16, 2003, Senator Russ Feingold introduced legislation to suspend the activity of the Total Information Awareness program pending a Congressional review of privacy issues involved. In February 2003, Congress passed legislation suspending activities of the IAO (Information Awareness Office) pending a Congressional report of the office’s activities.
Congress acted after William Safire published an article in the New York Times claiming “[TIA] has been given a $200 million budget to create computer dossiers on 300 million Americans” (see You Are a Suspect, November 14, 2002).
Of course, the program didn’t go away. Legislators included a classified annex to the Defense Appropriations Act that preserved funding for TIA’s component technologies, if they were transferred to other government agencies. TIA projects continued to be funded under classified annexes to Defense and Intelligence appropriation bills.
“Total Information Awareness — the all-seeing terrorist spotting algorithm-meets-the-mother-of-all-databases that was ostensibly de-funded by Congress in 2003, never actually died, and was largely rebuilt in secret by the NSA, according to the Wall Street Journal’s Siobhan Gorman,” Ryan Singel wrote for Wired on March 10, 2008. “There’s been no real debate in Congress or in the press about whether the government should be allowed to track every Americans phone calls, emails and web browsing.”
Jon Stokes, writing for Ars Technica, notes that TIA technology is nothing new. “TIA-like efforts are still going on” Stokes wrote in 2005, and “the government has been trying to use new technology, like database tech and voice recognition, for domestic surveillance for a long time. And when I say a long time, I mean well before the current administration came into office.” It really got a boost under Clinton in 1995 when the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) was passed. “CALEA mandated that the telcos aid wiretapping by installing remote wiretap ports onto their digital switches so that the switch traffic would be available for snooping by law enforcement.” In other words, Mark Klein had but scratched the surface.
Truman created the NSA in 1952, supposedly to serve as “America’s ears” abroad, but the agency has long served as a secret Stasi-like organization dedicated to snooping on Americans. The NSA, writes Siobhan Gorman for the Wall Street Journal, “and other intelligence agencies were found to be using their spy tools to monitor Americans for political purposes.”
The NSA’s predecessor, the Armed Forces Security Agency, launched Project SHAMROCK in 1945. It obtained copies of all telegraphic information exiting or entering the United States with the full cooperation of RCA, ITT and Western Union. A sister project known as Project MINARET involved the creation of “watch lists,” by each of the intelligence agencies and the FBI, of those accused of “subversive” domestic activities. The watch lists included such notables as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Jane Fonda, Joan Baez and Dr. Benjamin Spock, according to Patrick S. Poole, writing for Nexus Magazine in 1999. The FBI, the NSA, and other intelligence agencies were actively involved in creating the watch lists.

If you think Obama will roll back the government’s massive and unconstitutional snoop program, think again. On April 3, the Obama Department of Justice filed a motion to dismiss one of the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s landmark lawsuits against illegal spying by the NSA. The DOJ demanded that the entire lawsuit be dismissed based on both the Bush administration’s claim that a “state secrets” privilege bars any lawsuits against the executive branch for illegal spying, as well as a novel “sovereign immunity” claim that the Patriot Act bars lawsuits of any kind for illegal government surveillance (see the EFF press release, Obama Administration Embraces Bush Position on Warrantless Wiretapping and Secrecy).
In March, Obama’s coordinator for cybersecurity programs, Rod Beckstrom, a former Silicon Valley entrepreneur, quit because he opposed the role of the NSA in the so-called cybersecurity initiative. Beckstrom said “the threats to our democratic processes are significant if all top level government network security and monitoring are handled by” the NSA.
“Obama’s moves drew praise from key lawmakers on Capitol Hill, who vowed to work with the president to implement new security measures as needed,” CQPolitics reported shortly after his “cybersecurity” speech. “Obama said his cybersecurity adviser — who will be a member of both the National Security Staff and the National Economic Council staff — will head a new office within the White House.”
“We applaud President Obama for highlighting the extraordinarily serious issue of cybersecurity,” Sens. Johns D. Rockefeller IV, D-W.V., and Olympia J. Snowe , R-Maine, said in a joint statement. “No other president in American history has elevated this issue to that level and we think him for his leadership.”
No other president so far has had the power to shut down the internet. The Rockefeller-Snowe bill, S 778, would grant Obama dictatorial power declare a so-called “cyber emergency” and pull the plug, or at least cripple networks deemed a threat. The U.S. government is not seriously worried about Chinese hackers or mischievous kids in Latvia (as Rockefeller cited as a danger) but rather fear free and unfettered speech and activism on the part of its own citizens.
Obama’s promise is merely an effort to string you along with a big fat lie. He has absolutely no respect for you or the Bill of Rights.

Yup, wireless encrypted mesh networks, sure it’s not -long- distances, but a few tech savvy people in major metropolitan areas will roll out free information sharing networks. If you really want to get into it, you could try packet radio, sure the speeds aren’t anything great, but the distance is great.

Hollywood doesn’t imitate “reality”, Hollywood acts as a pseudo-”prophet” for the NWO bankers. The CIA and other Fed agencies have always used Hollywood to portray certain aspects of government or prior history in a positive or pro-government light. Once in a while however they will “leak” certain hints and insights about how the NWO intends to implement strategic assaults on the population, you could even call it a sort of psy-ops. We do not take this seriously enough. We look at the technology portrayed in these movies as futuristic at best, or impossible. I don’t think we know the real technological capabilities, what they will do with it, how far it has advanced.
It’s a shame that every technological advance made by good people (there ARE some, ya know?) in the desire of helping humanity, the NWO has used it to harm them. The sleepers are thinking “the government couldn’t possibly want to harm their own people.” I get that all the time from people I try to warn.

His adoptive father, Lolo Soetoro enrolled him at Fransiskus Catholic School as an INDONESIAN citizen with Islam as his official religion. The system CAN work, it’s not always one-sided. If you have a legitimate case with reasonable arguments, you CAN win and stand in court. The key is you have to get enough mainstream media attention to focus on your argument in order to publicize the matter. What the NWO fears most is the PUBLIC EYE. St Paul in the Book of Ephesians tells us clearly: “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead EXPOSE them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret; but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for any thing that becomes visible is light.” (Ephesians 5:11-13) The NWO always strategizes and plots in secrecy, that’s why they go to great lengths to get secluded from the rest of society when they meet. It’s been the same for ages. Evil men always do things under cover of darkness or behind closed doors in secret areas. If you are a child of light, one of your duties in this war is to expose them. That’s what AJ does very well. But again, to bring suit on the government is only as powerful if your case is legitimate with a clear backing by Constitutional law, and if you get enough hype and public interest in the case. Otherwise they will shut you down, even going so far as to imply the Constitution does not matter. Why do you think there have been many campaigns to get rid of public trials, or to remove media cameras from trial, or to have total media black-outs? The NWO know and understand this saying – “OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND” If you are out of sight, no one thinks to care about you or what you stand for.

Calling your representatives on these issues is about as useful as yelling at the television to change channels. They won’t listen, they’re bought and paid for with the exception of maybe a handful including Ron Paul. If you want to really motivate change, start grassroots movements, start up petition drives, start up big local campaigns to get issues like this in the public’s interest. Most people want to do something, but most people simply don’t have the creativity, drive, or initiative to get it rolling. What America needs right now is LEADERS, real leaders because the majority of Americans are easily led. They are sheep, which is both good and bad. Sheep will listen to you if you are willing to lead. But YOU have to be the start of the movement. Depending on those people that suck off your hard-earned money in Capitol Hill to do things for you is just as lazy and pointless. YOU have to effect the change and it comes at a higher price than simply a telephone call, an e-mail or two, a fax, a written letter, etc. And calling Obama, you might as well buy yourself a DUNCE cap. If you really think Obama will listen to a phone call from you, you obviously haven’t been paying attention to who he is and who he works for. Change will come from the People, not from the bought-out government officials. We are at that crossroads in the Declaration of Independence which says: “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness” Call if you like, but you might as well be banging your head on the wall.

This has been going on for a long time. Remember those encryption programs that were outlawed back in the 90’s? You know the ones that not even the government could crack. Why would they get so upset about secret internet use way back then? Having the right to protect yourself (i.e. your identity, activities etc) on the web is similar to having the right to protect yourself in the real world similar to owning a gun. Should we trust the government that profits from its failure (it always needs to grow to be successful) or do we trust ourselves both in the real world and in the cyber world? We are looking at this the wrong way, shake off the spin, see through the lies and see this for what it really is. It is as unconstitutional as you can get.

Received a “survey” today from Dept of Commerce. Census survey. My address was chosen “randomly” and my response to this 28 page survey is “required by law.” What?? This is not the actual census, but a survey. Questions range from the minor (who is living in the home) to the outrageous (employer, salary, type of vehicle, etc) There are about 50 questions per person residing in the home.
Required by law??? I didn’t see a warrant attached….

The timing could not have been better since the investigation goes on as to why the rejections. What we need NOW is all of us tech savy folks to start and “underground” internet. Like back in the day of the “elite” BBS’s. We could use encrypted wireless networks to transfer data between points, set up small routers,hubs, switches in buildings and start linking things up outside the normal internet channels. Most people have no idea that “confession” in the cathoic church, is one of the earliest forms of spying and collecting personal information from the community. There is no separation between church and state, only a covert underground that works in ways similar to the “secret room” at AT&T.

When Emads video recordings showed up in the Supreme Court, it was a huge embarrassment to Us Intel, the CIA and Fed, that had been fabricating a false flag. The Supreme Court and everyone got caught with their pants down as a result and only some of the documents were released, as a result and much remains sealed, per court orders. Emad’s story did make it into the NY Times & Washington Post, enough to reveal this much, but everything else is sealed till this day.
And now because the news videos from 9/11 are in total conflict with the offical story, well, we got Janet Jackson’s boob ruling and the 10 minute delay(review time) to make sure all leaks are stopped before the public has a chance to figure what actually happened when they have chance to replay old stuff that gives it all away when the pieces fit a lot better after it’s all said and done.

There are programs that can search key words and names, locations, purchases, times, etc., and having all this information can be used for all kinds of things. You would not want a critically groomed stoolie walking around, that can prove otherwise with a cash receipt, or a hotel record, or a cell phone GPS, that proves a well groomed Pentagon propaganda stoolie IS NOT THE GUY. The plumbers need to know where all this stuff might be so they can clean up loose ends without a hitch.

I know that the Vatican is very powerful, more powerful than most people, especially a lot of self-labeled infowarriors want to admit. Having said that I would stay away from Eric Jon Phelp’s material. I read Vatican Assassins and it is filled with documented history but the problem is Phelps’ rhetoric and religious ranting mixed in with the evidence. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and Phelps is warped, to say the least.
If people want to educate themselves on the Vatican I wouldn’t recommend Vatican Assassins unless you have a powerful personal truth filter. You’d be better off reading all of the good books out there on the same subject rather then having to sift through Eric Jon Phelps’ religious rhetoric.
