McKinney and about 18 other activists in Israeli custody for the past three days will likely be released by Sunday, according to the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C.
Spokesman Jonathan Peled said preparations are being made to deport the activists. “It is taking slightly longer. Former congresswoman McKinney is not cooperating with the authorities” and refusing to sign a document acknowledging deportation, he said.
“It’ll take a couple more days before she is put on a plane and flown out of Israel,” Peled said.

I can understand want of reparations. A higher proportion of blacks are below the poverty line for a reason.. differential advantage and lingering subtle racism. But maybe once the ruling caste has been overthrown by we the serfs and a new one created (for the process to happen again, and again, etc) there can be some kind of amends made.

To dH: I don’t dispute that blacks are deserving of reparations, but for slavery? While it was a truly disgusting time in american history it is long since past, while legitimate greviance’s flourish in modern times. I still contend that not all people of african descent in this country are desended from slaves, what would be the burden of proof? Where would the money come from? called for a payment of 40,000 dollars to all descendents of slaves, Laughable.

I can prove on my fathers side we descended from slaves South Carolina and his mother in The Bahamas. If they are willing to give give our money to the bankers and entire industries which don’t benefit the people – then it makes more sense to give it to The People – that would be a true stimulus package.

Ya know – there comes a point in time where people need to get over things. You do not see the Italians marching in parades and telling congress they deserve money for when the American government put them in camps. You do not see the Germans or Japanese doing the same. They got over it. Every ethnic group that came to this country got a raw deal. You just have to be strong and over come it and move on with your lives. I couldn’t disagree with you more. As a descendant of the degenerate slave owners, I’d have to express what a miserable plight my white American ancestors have left upon the black Americans. If us white people are not happy with the black culture, then think back to what we have given them as inheritance for so long: how we dehumanized, demonized, raped, tortured, murdered, brainwashed, demoralized, propagandized their nature and genetic makeup (they are of the human genome, no less, accept it or not), and how we, for so long willfully withheld education from them. It was even common practice to force breed them to the strongest, stupidest slaves in order create a weaker gene pool. How can Americans continue to propagate this ideal that the black Americans do not deserve reparations when we have given reparations to the Japanese and the native Americans?
And Alex Jones, I really appreciate his vast knowledge of whats going on in the world, but how he forgets the history of this country when he speaks of our county’s forefathers. How can he romanticize them as noble, well meaning people, as great leaders, when they were given to such shameful policies as owning slaves themselves? I agree with that noble hero, Nat Turner, who led the group of slaves to murder the white slave owners. I agree with him, not for the killing, although it was necessary, but I agree when he says that there will always be slaves.

I have a problem voting for anybody. As you probably know the third parties are a bit like the majority parties. The green party is considered left wing and libertarians and constitutionalists are considered right wing (which is kind of innacurate.) But for all practical purposes the third parties are just “further left or right” I dont’ 100% agree with Ron Paul, John McCain, Ralph Nader, or Barack Obama. I try to pick the candidate who I agree with on the majority of issues (unless they were wrong about a really big issue)
I can say honestly that I don’t agree with reparations or affirmative action.

I just read Genisis and part of Exodus. It seems that God rather likes his first born children, ie the Hebrews of Israel. It does tend to piss everyone else off though. The Hebrews haven’t lived in Israel for 5000 straight years, if, like we claim, we do want to be factual and researched.
There were exiles, but the big one on A.D.70 basically rid the land of the the Hebrews (the ones that stayed are now called Palestinians, by the way). After that (A.D.700)the Khazars adopted the babylonian Talmud as their religions text and set about becoming ‘jewish’. The one disagreement I have with Alex is over religion. Another reason it needs to be taken out of the equation of “thinking people”. Why should Black People provide proof that they are descendants of Slaves to be entitled to reparations? Sure, some Blacks came to America voluntarily seeking a better life for themselves but most are descendants of Slaves as proof by the fact that they/we still have the slavemasters name, religion, language and culture. How much more proof do you need? Lets be real…it doesn’t matter that slavery happened so long ago…Blacks are still suffering from it while Whites are still benefitting from it. And while we’re at it, throw in some reparations for the Africans in the Caribbean that are also the victims of the European institution of Slavery.

Obama is the product of a Kenyan-born father and European mother who consentually had relations that produced him. In order for a people to know where they are and where they must go, they must first know where they came from. Looking back, gives anyone a reference for plotting their course in life. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson etc. are your forefathers, not mine. Believing in what those men did over the course of American history gives you and others like you something to feel good about. But to me, those same men, raped and killed my people…not to mention owned my people as slaves…so why should I feel the same about these men as you? My desire is to relate to and feel good about “great African people” who did great things for African people in the past, present, and future. I need to look back because I have to make sure that my people don’t make the same mistakes when dealing with Europeans that put us in this situation in the first place.

I am looking at the situation today and (to stay on topic) focus more on the humanitarian crisis for which israel–yes, israel–is responsible!
Palestine/ “Gaza” is a concentration cap city of 1.5m people–over half of whom are under the age of 18.. Israel has blocked Palestinians from receiving adequate medical care, food supplies, access to clean water.. Has bulldozed neighborhoods *in Palestinian territories* to build illegal israeli “settlements”.. And of course there was the recent siege during which over 1200 Palestinians (a large minority of them, children) were killed by US bombs dropped from US planes.. Over 30,000 wounded during the siege.. I watched the horror as it unfolded and kept thinking of the children.. Babies who, if they survived the bombs, were dying from infected wounds, starvation as aid trucks were targeted by israel, or dehydration because the infrastructure had been decimated!
Truly, I do not hate jewish people or any other race of people.. I hate war and the suffering of innocents caused by it.. Yes, I hate the fact that $15m/ day in US aid goes to israel so that israel’s neighbors (who do not have the financial backing of the US) can be slaughtered..
I hate the fact that Cynthia McKinney has once again been stopped (in international waters) from bringing supplies to these families who happen to live where a war is being waged

Lets see, there were half a million palestinians jews living in palestine before 1948 just as half million arabs were. there were not there for centuries like they claim. they migrated to palestine from neghboring areas as well in the early 1900’s when the econimic conditions were better because of various reasons. so if the blame game is the jews and israel why not blame the arabs. since 1948 the arabs could have had a state, but they have always been a political pawn against the jews and isarel and making terrorist attacks against Israel so that was much easier then enjoying a state along side the jews in israel for 61 years. I would argue that since israel gained statehood, there has been an ongoing effort to “expand” into territories rightfully and legally claimed by neighboring populations (such as in gaza and the west bank).. Israel has been on a massive land-grabbing spree for decades now.. Illegally occupying lands, bulldozing neighborhoods, and forcing entire populations to relocate into the concentration camp-style cities created by israel..
Yes, if you want to go back 60-70 years and claim an-eye-for-an-eye, then I suppose you can make that argument..?
But for the love of Humanity, look at the past seven months since israel besieged gaza, dropping 2000lb US bombs from US planes, killing over 1200 palestinians, wounding over 20,000..
Over half of gaza’s population of 1.5m people are under age 18, and the casualty reports reflect that.. UN supply trucks were targeted by israeli tanks.. Makeshift refugee centers were targeted.. Tsipi Livni first said it was error, then said militants were hiding among the population; then, for the remainder of the siege, made the point that the palis needed to be taught a lesson! For getting pissed off because their homes were being demolished and they were being forced to move their families into a giant cage(d city)?!
Bombs were falling daily.. Babies’ bodies were ripped apart, and those who survived were dying of infections (no access to medical care), starvation (relief missions were forced to abort), and dehydration (infrastructure was targeted very early)..
I hate the carnage and the oppression.. The support of the US. In carrying it out.. The fact that Cynthia McKinney has been stopped yet again, from carrying out a humanitarian when/ where it is so desperately needed

To claim something is illegal they must first ACCEPT the UN 1948 resolution and till this they they have not. hamas and the plo call for the destruction of israel in their charter. how in the world can they claim something is illegal if they don’t even accpt it? they have never have accepted the un resolution. first they need to do that then it is illegal. but again facts does not matter in this case does it ? is much easier to blame the jews for everything ins’t it?

So is for 61 years not recognizing a country who was establish legally. not in any stolen land because there were 1/2 a million Palestinian jews living there before 1948. and no before you say it no arabs were not indigenous there that is why the British had place restrictions on arabs migration.. they migrated in the early 1900’s to the land, that is why their leader Arafat was born as an egyptian he was not Palestinian. so talk about illegality so is blowing oneself up in crowded malls and buses and killing innocent civilian for the past 61 years.
