Former Congresswoman and presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney has been prevented from leaving the country after she planned to give a speech in Damascus Syria at a Conference being held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

“Today, November 23rd, I was slated to give remarks in Damascus, Syria at a Conference being held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and, sadly, the 60th year that the Palestinian people have been denied their Right of Return enshrined in that Universal Declaration. But a funny thing happened to me while at the Atlanta airport on my way to the Conference: I was not allowed to exit the country,” writes McKinney.
“I do believe that it was just a misunderstanding,” she adds, though why a well known former Georgia congresswoman who represented Atlanta, the city in which she was born, would not be allowed to board a plane raises disturbing questions.

As many will recall, McKinney was perhaps the first major public figure to doubt the official version of events way back in 2002, which at the time was tantamount to treason.

McKinney has since become a vocal advocate for the 9/11 truth movement and appeared at numerous 9/11 truth conference and events.
She also made headlines for attempting to get answers on what had happened to $2.3 trillion dollars that was quietly declared “missing” from the Pentagon budget the day before 9/11.
McKinney was set to travel to Damascus to give a speech about the ailing plight of Palestinians and the Israeli lock down of Gaza, which is preventing Palestinian citizens, half of them children, from getting access to basic staples such as food, fuel and medical supplies, but Uncle Sam stopped her from doing so.
A misunderstanding? This is not the first time McKinney has been apprehended by the authorities. In April 2006 a Capitol Police officer prevented McKinney from entering a House office building when she did not present identification. Capitol police immediately apologized to McKinney after the incident, but the officer in question later claimed that McKinney had hit him. The fact that McKinney was not arrested on the spot for assaulting a police officer strongly suggests that assault claim was concocted or exaggerated.

Actually I think it’s more acurate to say he amplifies cirtain aspects of the news. Rairly is he actually wrong but sometimes he gets excited over not much. It is his job, self appointed in some respects but the best people make their own employment.
We have grown accustomed to some things being played down. Alex will say that child protection services torture children and you think, no that can’t be right. What you find is he has distilled the issue into it’s most basic components and has given no benefit of the doubt. Where mainstream media will assume incompetance when some officials do something bad, Alex will assume that it was deliberate.
Take the recent VAT Tax cut in the UK. Announced today we are dropping from 17.5% VAT to 15% VAT on Monday! That hardly leaves anyone any time to adjust their accounts and direct debits. When Yahoo ran a pole asking if the tax cut will have it’s stated intention of making you spend more 86% of people said NO. However it will lose the government 20 billion in Tax. So are the government incompetant or are they up to something else?
I have no clue what they are up to but hopefully Alex Jones has an idea.

Speaking out about the 9/11 fraud is just one of the reasons why Cynthia couldn’t leave this country. I am proud to say the I live in Atlanta and was represented by this brilliant woman for years. She not only questions the “official” 9/11 story, but exposes all kinds of government and corporate fraud. If we had more Mckinney’s this country would be in a much better position. Under the guise of “terrorism”, the U.S. government has targeted ACTIVISM. THe “CAPS II” system that the government has forced airlines to use ever since 9/11 has greatly restricted the travel freedoms of our people. I dont think it was a “misunderstanding”. And starting next year all passengers will have to give their FULL NAME in order to board a commercial plane. Prejudice, Discrimination and Racism all coincide with each but each are also separate from each other. There is no valid substance to this story. Cynthia McKinney could have easily stated the reason why she was not allowed. This story, like McKinney was another effort to draw attention to herself. To leave the US and enter Syria she would have had to have ceratin documents, i.e. valid passport, visa, perhaps a roundtrip ticket depending on visted country’s requirements.
Syria I am sure is on the State Deaprtments watch list.
No one knows and McKinney hasn’t specifically staed why either.
I Goggled “Cynthia McKinney Syria” and got a bunch of similar storiies ..This one posted here kinda spins the rest of the other stories about this incident.

This article leaves the reader with questions. Please give more details. Was former Congresswoman Mckinney allowed to leave the country on another flight? What was the reason she was stopped from boarding her flight in the first place? What was the misunderstanding?

I like “i know’s” explanation for keeping Cynthia in the country. I don’t think it was an accident that Cynthia was prevented from leaving for Syria. I remember when Gen. Nino Pasti, former head of nuclear affairs for NATO, was scheduled to speak in the U.S. in the early 1980″s for a SANE/FREEZE rally but was prevented from entering our country by the Reagan Administration. What happened to the former Congresswoman from Georgia is probably a forewarning of what is to come.

Jeez, Cynthia McKinney represented the Dekalb County district in the city of Atlanta. I happen to live 2 counties over. No offense, but the woman is a small fry short of a happy meal. She was probably detained because she was leaving to go to a country known to support terrorism. Whether a secret cabal orchestrated 9/11 still makes no difference to the TSA. They have orders to watch over this crap. She probably busted out the angry-black-woman head bobble and made scene. Which ranks up there with yelling “Allah Ackbar” at the airport. I understand the author had some sort of affinity for her and that’s fine, but at least look into the things she espouses. You failed to mention her belief in a Zionist conspiracy oft shared by some of the readers here. Her father , Billy Mckinney pulled a knife on someone in the GA. legislature and referred to him with an anti-semitic epithet. The best thing that could have happened to GA. was to offload this chick to another state.
And, the officer stopped her coming through the security checkpoint at the Capital. He failed to “reckonize” her because, as seems to be the trend, she didn’t have identification. She slapped him when he grabbed her. Later, he decided not to press charges and chalked the incident up as having to deal with a pretentious snot. Nothing alleged about it, that was his story. She was later voted out and replaced with Hank Johnson, who I do not agree with politically, but, at least brings some class to the office.

I’m really frustrated with that $2.3 T being repeated over and over. How on a 300+ B yearly budget, do you “lose” trillions. Rumsfeld on Sep 10 was addressing staff about the 5 yr projected budget, and the incompatibility of the various computer systems throughout DoD. His statement was that they can’t “track” what was estimated as much as $2.3 T. The DoD’s actual figures for the 5 fiscal years after 9/11 did exceed $2 T. His speech is online for you to read and the “topic” was the 5 yr “projected” budget. Hard to believe truthers, when disinfo is constantly repeated. There’s enough credible info out there without disinfo. I have emailed several of the well known truthers, but they don’t have time for the “truth”!

There is no “correct-thinking” racist. The definition of the word and its loss of credibility are key to understanding this issue.
There is no specific group that dominates or controls the NWO. It has, sometimes with great difficulty, absorb and adapted to social, political and economic changes, many of which they orchestrated, or, at the very least, manipulated, to suit their purpose.
McKinney has made both positive and negative comments. That fact shouldn’t allow the negative to cancel out the positive. Clearly when an individual or group single out another individual or group solely on the basis of their physical characteristics and then link those characteristics to a variety of negative views and/or deeds, that is racist. The definition and meaning of the word itself, like many words in the English language, has been misused and misinterpreted. A racist, by definition, is prejudice in favour of a specific race rather than opposed to another. In other words a racist is blinded by his or her prejudice for their particular or perceived racial lineage and blames, with or without proof, all other races, to varying degrees, for every view or deed they are opposed to.
The reason why the whole concept of racism lost enormous credibility over the last 50 years was because that belief system couldn’t stand up under even the most basic scrutiny. To suggest one race was entirely blameless and all others at fault was, and is, ridiculous. It is no surprise to me that Jews, for example, have a prejudicial view of Israel and the Middle East in general. It does not mean that their view is correct only that it is a common reaction.
McKinney, has supported Palestinian causes over the years. Does this necessarily mean she hates Jews? Possibly, but the key point here is to rationally analyze her views and deeds in regards to this and each issue to determine if she contradicts herself which would lend credibility to a prejudicial view. She has questioned the 911 Commission report, very few reasonably thinking people haven’t. Does this mean she is conspiracy theorist? Possibly, but, unlike certain NWO deniers or apologists, this fact can hardly be considered a threat to national security. Does this mean she is a “terrorist”? Unlikely, since she doesn’t have the time, training or inclination to engage in such activity, however, the fearfull little minds of the NWO clerks see views as well as deeds that are contrary to their plans as “terroristic”, or, more probably, a really good excuse to call someone a terrorist so they can deny entry from, or access to, a particular region, state or country.
The NWO is a multi-racial, multi-religious and even now becoming a bi-gender organization. The bottom line for these people is if you tow the line your in. What you look like, where you came from, what God you preach to or even what kind of sex you like to have are no longer important, in fact it may be well to point out that these issues have the added public relations value of convincing those that identify with these groups that “one of their own” is now in a position of power.
In reality, all of us are viewed as sludge in their eyes. The so-called social, political and economic “progress” that has appeared to have been made over the last 50 years has been, in truth, a massive membership drive to join the NWO. The most senior figures of the most prominent movements have had one of three things happen to them:
1) they joined
2) they were assassinated
or
3) they gave up and faded away
Regrettably, the first group massively outnumbers the other two.

Why are random guy and lordcsmith getting so much flack on here? They point out some very good points. With McKinney, unless you were there, you will never know the whole story. It’s great that she is a 9-11 truther, but that doesn’t excuse her other behaviors. We need to be careful about people like her, because their baggage gives the rest of us a bad name. There are plenty of reasons why Mckinney might be stopped – some innocuous and some not. Bureaucratic mistake could be one, her being on a list because of the 9/11 support, not wanting another nut heading off to Syria at a time with lots of tensions. Other reasons include maybe Israel is getting ready to bomb Iran and/or syria. The reason matters very much. I can’t understand why so many of you are so quick to forgive McKinney who seems to be a marxist racist and get so down on people who have done nothing other than point out other possible scenarios.

McKinney’s “support” (which included many White politicians as well) of Dr. Khalid Muhammad was more about freedom of speech than supporting his ideas.
Furthermore, the “Kill the White man” speech that everyone keeps referring to was taken slightly out of context. While, Dr. Muhammad certainly wasn’t a fan of White people, he wasn’t saying “kill all White people.” That particular speech was given years ago during the height of the protest against the apartheid in South Africa. When Muhammad was saying kill all the White people, he first said, “give White people 24 hours to leave South Africa and if they refuse to go, then kill them.” He considered the apartheid against Blacks in South Africa to be an act of war and felt that Blacks in South Africa had the right to respond to war with war. Reminds of the days in my country when you had to bribe security at gates so that they would let you on; no need for list, it’s enough if they don’t like your face or your attitude.
