Update: RadNet claims false alarm over high radiation readings in Indiana

According to radiationnetwork.com, the website for the United States’ radiation monitoring network, a false alarm caused high radiation levels to be reported in South Bend, Indiana last night. Equipment malfunction is being noted as the cause.

Last night, live records for a radiation monitoring station near the border of Indiana and Michigan have shown radiation levels as high as 7,139 counts per minute (CPM). At 1:55 a.m., Eastern time, the radiation level was at 2,558 CPM. The level varied between 2,000 CPM and 7,000 CPM for several hours.

But the same website notes it was a false alarm due to an equipment malfunction: “The uninterruptable power supply UPS had lost power and had died – a tripped GFI.”

According to RadNet, the United States’ radiation monitoring network, South Bend, Indiana is experiencing extremely high levels of radiation — up to 100 times higher than safe levels.

Live records for a radiation monitoring station near the border of Indiana and Michigan have shown radiation levels as high as 7,139 counts per minute (CPM). At 1:55 a.m., Eastern time, the radiation level was at 2,558 CPM. The level has varied between 2,000 CPM and 7,000 CPM for several hours.

Normal radiation levels are between 5 and 60 CPM, and any readings above 100 CPM should be considered unusual and trigger an alert, according to information listed on the RadNet website. RadNet has not yet issued an alert regarding this issue.

According to Beforeitsnews.com, the high level of radiation is taking place in the exact same location where residents described feeling earthquakes, described in this video.
