Independent autopsy results for a Chicago area woman who died in a Texas jail could be released as early as Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the controversy continued in the death of Sandra Bland, whom authorities said committed suicide in the Waller County jail following her arrest during a traffic stop.
“Here in Texas, we are not afraid of ISIS. We are afraid of the police,” Rev. Jamal Bryant said Monday at a news conference.
Bland, 28, allegedly assaulted a police officer during a July 10 traffic stop. Officials have said the former Naperville woman hung herself three days later in her jail cell, using a plastic trash bag.
