We apologize for becoming paranoid to the nth degree. The cages with razor wire have been constructed and legally challenged (you failed) to hold all of you who would attempt to expose us by acting out and protesting. We know we are completely suppressing your rights to freedom of expression, especially in this time of extreme economic and political frustration. You can enjoy our pretense of a convention, bring an ipod, go to restaurants and bars and down brews and watch some sports on Fox. Have plenty of sex. Just don’t expose us or criticize us for being complete tools of our corporate controllers. After all, we are putting on a show. It represents ever form of hype and hypocrisy people have become disillusioned with.

Just because we are in envy of the techniques and tactics of the Chinese Government during this year’s Bejing Olympics, don’t worry. We are doing it for our own good. We are paranoid and fear what freedom of expression as granted to you in the Bill of Rights will do to expose us as power greedy monsters. Sure there are a few decent Democrats left, but we overruled them.

Enjoy the scripted show. Complain and express what you feel about our massive failures, prepare to be arrested and sent to the chained cages with Razor Wire. Isn’t China great? We bought a lot of this equipment from them.

I however am wondering if this is just one of several of these lingering around waiting for use.

I know our chief is slick, but he’s either NOT being truthful, or he’s is just uninformed about the illegal immigrant “policies” being implemented in Austin and it’s surrounding areas.

If you commit a Class B misdemeanor or more severe crime, you go to “county” jail in Del Valle. There, they have the method and means to contact ICE and arrange deportation for these illegals. However, driving without a license, and (usually co-insides with) driving without insurance are Class C, and therefore do not necessarily trigger a ride to Del Valle.

The morning Chief Acevedo went on Alex’s show, I had listen to Pflugerville (small city bordering Austin) PD decide to release an illegal who was driving without a license (an arrestable offense) and driving without insurance. One of the PPD officers contacted ICE and confirmed that he was an, “illegal,” and the ICE agent he spoke with told that officer that it would be 24 hours before he could arrange for a pickup by the ICE agency. The officer relayed that information to a lietenant and the lietenant discussed the matter with the dispatch officer. After the discussion about the amount of increased paperwork and having to hold this person in their jail for 24 hours, the lietenant decided that it would be better to write him a ticket and let him go.

And that’s what they did. Other small cities near Austin do it. Coutry sherriffs (Travis, Williamson, ans Hayes) do it. And Austin does it. If you are a citizen, you go to jail, face prosecution, have to hire an attorney (you get one apppointed ONLY if you cannot make bail), risk losing your job, get a criminal arrest record, and whatever else getting arrsted entails. However, if you are illegal, it’s here’s a ticket, pay it if you think you should, and have a nice day.

And when he mentioned his position on the issue of the ILLEGAL blood draws for invoking your CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to refuse a breathalizer. He said it would be for instances where serious injury or death occured ONLY. Well, I seriously doubt that.

First, there are already policies in place to take blood for those instances, but instead of the jail house, the accused is taken to a hospital to get their blood drawn by a nurse, in a setting designed to control possible adverse reactions to the blood draws or mistakes made in trying to take blood from a drunk person. So, I guess Acevedo wants money to train cops to do it in a jail cell or a jail room so they don’t have to do it in a hospital.

Second, San Antonio (90 miles south of Austin) had a “NO REFUSAL WEEKEND” over Memorial Day this year, and they took 21 peoples blood in “mobile clinics” on the side of the road. The DA for Bexar Country decided that people were just NOT going to be allowed to refuse to provide evidence against themselves (otherwise known as your GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS protected by the 5th Amendment) and be compelled to give blood on the side of the road. It is very likely they will be getting the same funding to accomplish the same goals as their fellow San Antonian brethren. Higher conviction rates mean more money for the departments and for the city.

So, I can understand why people may be conned by his “silver-tounged” rhetoric, but the simple fact is, that the facts do NOT coinside with the rhetoric. There is an amazing disparity between legal citizens and illegal aliens when it comes to arrest “policies,” and there is a huge gap between his stated stance on ILLEGAL blood draws, and what is actually being proposed or actually performed here in Austin and the surrounding areas.
