Luqman Ameen Abdullah, imam of the Masjid Al-Haqq mosque in Detroit, was being arrested on a raft of federal charges including conspiracy, receipt of stolen goods, and firearms offenses.
Charges were also filed against 11 of Abdullah’s followers. Eight were in custody Wednesday night awaiting detention hearings today; three remained at large.
A federal complaint filed Wednesday identified Abdullah, 53, also known as Christopher Thomas, as “a highly placed leader of a nationwide radical fundamentalist Sunni group.” His black Muslim group calls itself “Ummah,” or the brotherhood, and wants to establish a separate state within the United States governed by Sharia law, Interim U.S. Attorney Terrence Berg and Andrew Arena, FBI special agent in charge in Detroit, said in a joint statement.

The agents were attempting to serve a warrant and the suspect opened fire. What do you expect law enforcement to do when they are being fired upon first? They did not go in there to assassinate this guy, they came with a valid warrant. I’m all for the gov staying the heck out of our business, but they had PC this guy was up to no good. He wanted to attack the Super Bowl and institute Sharia Law. He was planning mass murder for crying out loud! Some of the people making comments have alluded this action was unconstitutional; how the heck is that? I believe the gov was actually acting legitimately and within the parameters of the constitution in this case. I agree with most that we need to end the Fed, reduce the size of government, reign-in our empire, and elect Ron Paul-type representatives; however, we do need to take legitimate law enforcement action when necessary. Once again, I don’t know how in the world people making comments are against police going after dirtbags like this. As someone commented earlier, I agree the gov could potentially go after patriot groups in the future (like Oath Keepers); however, this comparison is not reasonable is this case. Most patriot groups speak of adhering to the Constitution, and like Oath Keepers, of a peaceful resistance. This guy, however, was talking about killing massive amounts of innocent people. This guy was an enemy of the constitution.

I will agree with you that their is no REAL sharia law anywhere since it is based on power and the Inman/Cleric wields the power. If you read the Hadiths you will see they developed as they benifited a certain person! That’s why they came up with the principle of abrogation. The tribal regions of Pakistan and aAfghanistan are prety close to the perfect Sharia law in this world!
