The brave efforts of Congressman Dennis Kucinich and others to attempt to bring articles of impeachment against the president and the vice president cannot be underestimated, however, due to the brick wall erected before them by the Democratic leadership, statements at the hearing were very limited.
“To the regret of many, this is not an impeachment hearing,” said Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat, noting that the House would have to approve any hearings that could move formally on impeachment.
Before the hearing even began it became clear that Conyers and the rest of the committeewere not even considering the possibility of impeachment.
In fact we are not even allowed to use the word impeachment for Bush’s impeachment hearing.
The “unimpeachment hearing” did not allow any remarks or formal accusations that would imply or state that the president lied or obstructed the truth in any way, nor did it allow any references to alleged impeachable offenses.
Former prosecutor and author of The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Vincent Bugliosi summed up the hearing in his opening statement to the Committee:
“I have been told that the rules of this house dictate that although I can quote what president George Bush said I am forbidden from accusing him of a crime or even of any dishonorable conduct, only being allowed to use the words “Bush Administration” or “Administration officials” this will not make for the best of articulations, but I will do the best that I can”
Though Bugliosi went on to state that “The terrible reality is the Bush administration has gotten away with thousands and thousands or murders,” under the rules of the House, we must ignore that. We must also ignore the boisterous applause for the former prosecutor’s words, which drove Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), the committee’s ranking member, to ask that Chairman John Conyers clear the hearing room. That too is not allowed.
When Cindy Sheehan shouted, “Thank you Vince”, Conyers reminded her that it was forbidden to express any demonstrations of approval or disapproval of the proceedings. An angry and bemused Sheehan was already on her way out of the door when Conyers ordered her to be removed.
Though Dennis Kucinich was afforded the luxury of presenting one of his articles of imp…. er unimpeachment, he was not allowed to present any evidence or facts to back it up, of which we know there are ample amounts of. Presenting false intelligence as a pretext to engage in war, ordering illegal torture and authorizing warrantless wiretapping anyone?
Kucinich asked:
“The question for Congress is this: what responsibility does the President and members of his Administration have for that unnecessary, unprovoked and unjustified war?”
“The rules of the House prevent me or any witness from utilizing familiar terms. But we can put two and two together in our minds. We can draw inferences about culpability. …
“I ask this committee to think, and then to act, in order to enable this Congress to right a very great wrong and to hold accountable those who misled this nation,” he concluded.
Republicans reminded us all that impeachment would set a dangerous precedent by punishing a president for his political policies. Heaven forbid.
“There’s no evidence in these allegations of the president violating his oath of office,” said Rep. Mike Pence, Indiana Republican.
Pence was technically correct given that no one was allowed to present any evidence.
Jeremy Rabkin, a George Mason University law professor, said Bush administration critics might be using threats of impeachment to express anger toward the president over policy matters.
Others called the meeting a waste of time with Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith saying,” Nothing is going to come out of this hearing with regard to impeachment of the president. I know it, the media knows it, even the speaker knows it.”
At several points Smith was seen fuming and at one point blurted out “This is not impeachment hearing”.
Smith, mocked the proceedings, comparing them to last month’s hearing featuring former White House spokesman turned whistleblower Scott McClellan, whom he took pride in comparing to Judas.
“If last month it appeared we hosted a ‘book of the month club,’ this week it seems that we are hosting an anger management class,” Smith said. “This hearing will not cause us to impeach the President; it will only serve to impeach our own credibility.”

hmm, well honestly, i got the feeling that conyers wants to impeach bush as bad as anyone. in fact, i heard people say pretty much whatever they wanted to, and conyers never called them out. he even smiled after a few comments, and called the book bugliosi wrote ‘his favorite’, and mentioned he is also a member of ‘veterans for peace’.
what i was sorely disappointed in, is that this was a circus. no real testimony was given. they made really good points about why bush and co should be impeached, but not really any proof was submitted to the committee, and they said it was not an impeachment hearing.
overall i feel that conyers is getting some real pressure not to pursue this.
what could scare these folks so badly that they would rather watch the countries moral and constitutional principles go out the window and down the drain, rather than fix this issue now and make a stand. the stakes seem rather important to me. maybe they either just don’t see it that way, or we are severely mis-informed, or they are crooks as well.
i hear alot of talk about let’s impeach them all, congress included, but i don’t think anyone knows what to do here. this is historically the worst shape our country has ever been in. where do you go to ask for impeachment of congress?
people have tried to bring a grand jury up for bush and co. but the justice dept. even refuses to take the case to present it to the grand jury? what is going on here?

I have made it a goal of mine to call the offices of all these enablers every day to thank them for plummeting this nation into full fledged lawlessness. Im going to remind them of the laws of the universe in case they feel like they are above the laws of the land. What goes around comes around. May God have mercy on all their souls.
Im starting to think that maybe just maybe all these people all just plain cowards. That there really is only a small number of truly evil people who could devise such nefarious plots like the NWO and the rest just view these people as gods want there respect want there position and think maybe just maybe ill be sleected for there position when they die. While I don’t support Kucinich for most of his liberal policies I must applaud him for being the only representative with enough fortitude and testosterone to face the Cheney Juggernaut (Lets face it…Bush is ill equipped to have an original thought) that is becoming the 4th Reich. Conyers, Rabkin, Pence and the rest of the Hitler-Cheney Youth will be remembered when History does right this wrong…every fascist government has fallen and ours is no different…I commend the Kucinich’s and patriots left in this country. Watching this trial it could have easily been Goring, Goebles and Hess or Gestapo…has our Reichstag burned yet? Time to watch the old….WHY WE FIGHT series!!! Viva Le Revolution….Viva America!

Maybe the solution is “bottom up”. Everyone get involved IMMEDIATELY at the grass-roots level. Work wherever you are. Get legislation passed LOCALLY that doesn’t allow passage of REAL ID, etc. Get stuff passed locally, in order for a growing movement of small voices to come together as a SHOUT to take back our country. If everyone that reads this site and cares enough to post comments left their house, organized and took this to the street, things would CHANGE. Let’s all stand up and shout. Get out of your house and get to your own local government. We need solutions NOW.

Lamar Smith is such a traitor to this country. He is a “rat politician” with a “rat plan.” These rats have all left their little round turds all over the Constitution, peeing and staining that document as they have systematically attacked everything the Constitution and Bill of Rights stands for. Why is he fuming so? Could it be that he has a conscience and is ashamed of his own complicity in this criminal war and assault on our Constitution? That would be too much to hope for. Why NONE of you are even suggesting going after CONYERS’ personal wealth with numerous class action lawsuits from every direction based on EVERY act has performed in Congress, is beyone me. I think they all feel sorry for us. People in other, European countries I think are seeing what we’re now going through. I think they’re seeing how our democracy is folding.

I wish Professor Presser and Rapkin had been going on that double speak diatribe, “if Bush really did all the things they accused him of then of course he should be impeached” in a bar. Then I could actually see how good it would FEEL to sock them right square in the mouth has hard as I could. Maybe a nice head-butt as well.

The problem is……The powers that be already control everything. Do you honestly think this is just a republican problem? Those that control the Federal Reserve can buy this country who knows how many times over. They are the ones that pull the strings. If they decide our currency is wortheless……it becomes worthless. They are the ones that control the gold and silver this country’s currency is backed by. It becomes just paper if these extremely elite families decide it becomes worthless. Read the Federal Reserve act (1913). (I won’t go into the reasons it was passed, but I will just say the true powers that be were behind it, and later used its power to cause the great depression to buy up more of the country at fractions of the price or how this system directly causes inflation). The government borrows its currency from this independent commission, at interest. That means for every new dollar printed, for every year passed, for every new war started (causing us to borrow more money to pay for the war), and for every time they decide to raise the interest rate this government itself is more in debt and less in control. Why do you think these families fund their own mercenary agencies? Do you think its to make the army’s job easier? No, it is to enfore their own interests. Now, if anyone in the government every decided to try to do anything about this, what do you think would happen? First of all, there would be repeated attempts on their lives. If they did manage to get anything passed, the Federal Reserve acting in the interest of the elite would recall all the debt the US owes them, therefore, causing the US itself to be extremely bankrupt. Then, the US cold not afford to pay their soldiers anything and would only have the soldiers who were willing to fight for free. The US would have limited weapons, as these mercenary agencies guard a lot of weapons to begin with. They would have less qualified soldiers for a combination of 2 reasons. First of all, these mercenary agencies already recruit the best soldiers from the Army, Marines, etc, because they can pay much better than the government. Who is to say knowing the government is collapsing the current military wouldn’t seek employment in these companies, knowing they are the highest bidder. Other parts of these same companies are the ones who make all of our government’s weapons, as well as other government’s weapons. They have the factories. I mean honestly, this has been set up for centuries under the guise of doing the best for the american public. Now, they are trying to convert all the money of the world into one currency. They want to do this to globalize the world. They want to do this so they can do away with currency completely and make everything credit based and trackable. This way, if someone acts out, all they have to do is erase their identity. Then, the person loses all ability to live and power. Anyone helping them would have the same done to them. It is slowly happening all over the world. It isn’t just America. They are making us slaves, and it is just a few elite families that have all the power. It reminds me of a joke I heard about America, to paraphrase, “The reason Americans are so greedy is they think the one who amasses the most wealth before they die is the winner.” It was presented in a more comical way, but I am not a comedian myself…..so…..Just know that democracy is an illusion to make those of us without power feel more comfy. If anything did happen to threaten these people, all that would happen is the illusion would be lifted. Every prominent politician has some sort of connection to these families. It is just the way things are. Look at the media and everything around us. Everything is just meant to be a distraction to keep us from realizing we really are all just slaves. Some are better taken care of slaves than others, but do you think the powers that be would have let Bill Gates (richest man in the country my @**) take what he got without him having connections to them? They want someone else to parade around and make it look like they aren’t really the ones in power. Where can I sign up for that gig? I’ll fall in line if they give me a few hundred billion to throw around. It’s pocket change compared to what the Federal Reserve makes them every year. Look at tax loopholes. They are all designed so the richest can live luxury lifestyles without paying any taxes. They can write off just about anything they do and claim it is for business or for improving their city. The only type of revolution we could possibly do is going back to a barter system. Trading goods for goods rather than depending on currency is the only way we could do this. Unless the government somehow overthrew these elite, which would be a miracle, and reestablished its own currency, rather than having an independent produce it and loan it to us. I’ve ranted long enough, but seriously, does anybody have ideas of what to do? I hope I don’t get dragged off to Guantanamo for posting this (half serious, half joke….I think….).

Why am I not surprised dont ask dont tell! Congress knows what is going on but has made a pact to continue on the course of least resistance for the sake of not appearing divided. With on money to pay the soldiers and keep the war effort going I am sure congress does not really know what to do. If they speak against the President at this time it will bring about a military revolt and than the constitutional shit will hit the fan! The district court of the 3d circuit falsified the record on appeal and the office of the prosecuting attorney was 28 days in default from filing they’re answering brief. No matter how many motions I filed the court would not accept nor substantiate my arguments. Finally I wrote a brief in certiorari that after reading one of the Judges killed himself. To top it off the Judge called me the day before he killed himself and made an apology to me. All of this analysis of what happened on July 25th is worthless if nothing else happens.
We, the people, need to know what is next required to see that this impeachment effort continues and then put the info-pressure that this body is capable of exerting, on the appropriate legislative areas.
Please correct the following any of the following components are incorrect;
1. Agitation of Impeachable Crimes – The asserting, to Congress of impeachable charges? Is this what took place July 25th?
2. Investigation of Impeachable Charges – The “Grand Jury” portion of the process, The House Judiciary Committee or other special investigative committee hears the charges and determines if evidence exists to support the creation of one or more Article of Impeachment. Is this what took place July 25th?
3. House of Representatives Votes – The House votes on whether or not to impeach. If the House votes yes, the Article(s) of Impeachment are then presented to the Senate (step 4).
4. Impeachment Hearings – This is the “court of law” part.
5. Senate Votes – This is the Jury deliberation part. The impeachment vote requires a 2/3 majority to pass.
6. Removal from Office – Upon 2/3 majority of the Senate in favor of impeachment, or a “conviction” in the case, the offending official will be removed from office.
7. Charges for Crimes – This is where the offending official is subject to civil or criminal prosecution for the offences that lead to impeachment. Impeachment is not necessarily a punishment; it is only the removal from office.

Comments of awareness of military revolt & civil war, I believe, are on point, given my own experience and recent research, as well as knowing of the paramilitary incidents in AZ along the border & now north to Phoenix, with 20 person armed & heavily equipped units making home invasions in police uniforms, but profiling as Los Zetas or Mexican Military. Impeachment is no longer useful. The president would just declair a state of emergency
and suspend all the other branches of government.
They know this as a fact. All they are doing is CYA incase the military takes a hard
look of thier oath of service and decides to defend the Constitution. Then they can claim

The ONLY way we as a people can get control again of our government is to hold those accountable who blatently mock justice and the SUPREME LAW of the land. Let me remind my fellow Americans, the Constitution and Bill of Rights IS the supreme law of this land STILL.
By the dumbing down of the populace, they seem to have forgotten that. It takes people who are willing to come together in their own communities and Town Hall meetings to LEGALLY hold their representatives accountable. However, that would take in volunteering and doing a bit of homework in American History and law. If people can come together for Ron Paul and get all fired up by his speeches, then they should take that energy to another lever through MEET UP GROUPS who have the same goals. Donate money for attorneys like Maurice Fein and investigator/prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi. They know the cause is a good one and they may even donate their services.
I can not think of a better way to learn a lesson in vigilance and justice but it will take the will of WE THE PEOPLE to bring it about. WE THE PEOPLE are still the government. We have just been hoodwinked by some very smart criminals. Time to wake up America before it realy is too late and your grandchildren are in concentration camps.

Lately, as an American I find myself looking at facts: National debt through the ceiling on money created from nothing by an illegal private banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve that is not Federal and has no reserves; yet, our debts to this farce reserve system is mostly interest on worthless paper. American reputation in the dumps on a major world-wide scale. New taxes while borrowing from the Fed and China. Excuse me for asking the obvious: When will there come a time for accountability? If we illegally park our car we get a ticket. We fail to pay the ticket (a tax), we risk jail. So if something this trivial can be handled through the court system, then why does it appear impossible to get justice on more pressing issues? Either we start working as a team and unite for the cause of liberty and justice by taking action, or we become divided and conquered for lack of interest. This “administrations” actions have resulted in, the Public Debt to Banks (including the Bush’s Bank) being catastrophically high. This Debt was to finance the killing of one million+ innocent Iraqis/Afghans, over 4,000+ US soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan, plus uncounted tens of thousands of US military who have died AFTER being evaqued from theatre, for injuries received in Iraq & Afghanistan. I find Professor Rabkin’s statement that he would find it hard to believe that any US president would deceive the country to go to war, a statement worth examining. If I’m not mistaken, the President of the US is at least in theory to be a ‘common person’. Following Professor Rabkin’s logic, he would find it hard to believe that anyone would be capable of deception- ever. If we all carry the potential to be President, then we must all be incapable of deceiving. He is a Professor at the George Mason University. I know where not to send my kids to schoool.

I agree with you Free Man – I do not think we can halt this slide into tyranny without the use of brute & violent force. The “fear mongers” will have to begin to feel a little bit of that fear for themselves. They are ruthless, scum sucking, low-life pigs and they should be targeted as such. And what greater force is there in the world right now than our own military? The problem is that many have been brainwashed into believing that they are actually fighting for our freedom over in Iraq. They don’t realize that the real fight is going on right here at home. I truly believe that many, many of our brave soldiers take their oathes very seriously and are obviously willing to die in service to their country. It grieves my heart to see how they have been mislead and betrayed. There should be a mass movement to wake them up – from general on down to foot soldier. The results of this gallant attempt by Dennis Kucinich and all the ones who testified along with him indicate that negotiations have come to their limit. There is only one thing left and that is the final step that we as a country have been presently using overseas. Now it is interesting as to who will be the first to do it and how many of us will fall in line and complete the job?

Freeman #41 has an great idea. While I am advocating to the citizen’s of America to regain control , I think our problem is so deep rooted we should start enlisting the help of our generals. I feel the only difference there, is that it would take many and not just one. Do you have any more advice for just ONE more to aid you?

I watched the hearing and the thing that pissed me off the most(apart from the two bufoonish professors) was the fact that the people were threatened by that idiotic committee for using their Constitutional right of free speech by applauding!! Who in the hell do they think they are?! They are our servants, they are there at our pleasure! I say, with few exceptions we get rid of them all in Nov ! BTW, what in the hell is wrong with conyers, apart from being older than dirt?! Good on Cindy Sheehan too!

I believe the oath that the militiary takes is to defend the Constitution against ALL ENEMIES – FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. I believe that this oath is supposed to take precedent against all other. If the Commander in Chief is attempting to destroy the very Constitution that they swore an oath to defend, then they would be within their rights to disobey.

What happens when the Commander in Chief IS the would be destroyer of the Constitution? I believe their first and foremost duty, based on the oath that they take, is to defend the Constitution.

What can we all do? Send an email but that could just get deleted; send snail mail but that could go into the incinerator, make a phone call, but never get forwarded to the correct person. I sent Pelosi and email, she never even acknowledged getting it; probably went into her junk box. I believe that something is going to happen and I am trying to be very careful here so I don’t get put onto the terrorist list or something. No one else gets away with breaking the law, why should they? Sometimes the cops drive down the highway, looking for that strap to cross your chest or show through the side window so they can earn more money for the state; criminal.

few things in my life have been more frustrating and infuriating than the last 7 years. I hear people talking about that facts all over the country. We march with people from around the globe. We write books, lectures, and stage marches with well scripted and informative speeches. I see the anger welling up inside my generation, and it shows it’s face in many forms. All these things do nothing. Any hearing is tightly controlled or flat out ignored. I’m tired of watching my countrymen, watch my country burn. Run these bastards out of our country and let them crawl to there banker masters and so called secret societies. It turns out the secret is only that there is no secret. you’ll spend your whole life serving men in the hopes you’ll become one. Then at the twilight of your life, look back at the darkness your petty greed has wrought. Turn off your damn tv’s, get your as up, and make your PLANS known. If there was a REAL leader we could walk with, we would show by the millions. But with no courageous leader, with NO PLANS OF ACTION, all your doing is bitching. Everyday between 10 to 1000 people die over this lie. Not because of Bush, but because of us. We have failed to do what was needed. We have disgraced ourselves. But who cares right? Get a whopper, have a beer, smoke that shit, and watch the game is our national motto. You have one year people. One year until all hope is lost. The legality of kicking YOUR door in for little more than someone’s pointed finger is already established legal precident. What your doing on your phone, in your local walmart, and here online, is being compiled into a list that, when the time is right, will make YOU it’s victims. this isn’t speculation. this isn’t fear mongering. it’s not any of these rediculous made up tools of divide and conquer. I think at this point there is only ONE obvious solution. Everyone avoids it, brushes its possibility under the rug, and freaks out if anyone mentions it. But the Constitution itself provides a means for recovering from exactly the situation we have – when our government officials ignore the very founding documents of this nation, and use their positions solely for the gain of power and profit. I think we all know what that solution is, and I think we all know that it will eventually be necessary – but will it be too late before we all finally rise up and take our nation back? It is not at all dishonorable or even unconstitutional to, as members of the individual states, declare war on those corrupt individuals who have stolen our government and used it to murder millions. It MUST be done, before the time to do so has come to an end.

I used to run a server as a workstation and I happen to know a thing or two about ECC capability on memory. Yes it’s slower but the memory checking itself using a more mathematically complicated code than your computers parity tends to do that. The result however is a very stable environment. 99.9% memory reliability, with a equally as good a chance of fixing the memory address on the fly and not crashing the program/os. A Country MUST, MUST work the same, or it will, WILL, crash.
