Carb-conscious dieters will often shun pasta in an effort to lose weight.

Recent studies have confirmed that low-carb diets are more effective than low-fat diets when it comes to shifting the pounds. Pasta and other carbohydrate-heavy foods have thus increasingly become regarded as no-go items for anyone wanting to get trim.

However, a new study by researchers at the Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care at Neuromed in Pozzilli is challenging perceptions around pasta consumption and weight.
