“Hopefully I can get at least that much for the autographed photo. If it sells for more than I’ll get a laser sight for it and take some gun safety classes and get my ‘concealed carry’ permit,” explains “astrobuzz,” the seller.
“I’m selling this Jim Carrey Autographed B&W 8X10 Photo (mint condition) in hopes that I sell it for enough to buy a GUN to protect my family,” the eBay description continues.
“I lost all respect for Mr. Carrey after he released his ‘Cold Dead Hands’ video mocking responsible gun owners and Charlton Heston… I believe in the 2nd Amendment and my rights shall not be infringed! From MY cold dead hands Mr. Carrey!”
In response to support for his opposition to Carrey’s anti-Second Amendment video, the seller added a PayPal link to his eBay page. “By request I’m adding a PayPal donation link. Thank you ALL for your overwhelming support!” he writes.
Earlier this week, Carrey posted a video on Youtube satirizing American gun culture and defaming the late actor and former NRA president Charlton Heston.
Carrey is a dual citizen of both the United States and Canada. On Tuesday, Infowars.com posted a link to a petition calling for Carrey to be deported for his attack on the Second Amendment and American gun owners.
Carrey has received over 60,000 responses to the video, Cold Dead Hands, on his Facebook page. “It’s kind of funny how celebrities have delusions of relevance,” one commenter wrote.
“I’m appalled at wht I’ve seen on ths stream the last few days, all in hatred’s defense. No wonder it’s so dangerous to be a child today,” the actor complained on his WhoSay page.
“I’d like to respond to all the conservative pundits out there personally but I’m far too busy NOT stumping for the gun companies,” Carrey tweeted after the video went live. “The important question is ‘Do we possess guns in America or do guns possess us?’”
“‘Cold Dead Hand’ is abt u heartless motherf%ckers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids.Sorry if you’re offended by the word safety! ;^},” he added in another tweet.
